Westerners has no contribution to the development of Lagos. The massive infrastructures built by FG makes it the center of business for now. Abuja, today, is another ec6oiwer house, what was the economic value of Abuja before it was made capital?

What infrastructures have your state government added after FG built

Roads
Government House
Airport
University
Stadiums
Bridges
Seaport

Etc
Dont worry, I have a thread coming up to demistify your FG footprint in Lagos.

I will show you that LCC, Lagos City Council was the developer of Lagos, not FG.

...and I will list for you achievements of LCC.

Be ready to list FG achievements in Lagos.

Minus Lagos and possibly Ogun, which state in the South West is economically viable enough to stand up to Imo, Anambra and Abia States?

Osun and Ekitihuh
You cannot subtract any state of SW.

Im not one of the Yorubas that follow along with your nonsense of excluding Lagos from SW.

It is a bonafide membership of SW and Yoruba States.

I already have a plan to educate my Yoruba brothers on what FCT represented in Lagos so they have empowerement to break the myth.

Yoruba and SW remain the best economy, best diversity, best security and best sustainable growth....in addition, best politically responsive to social contracts....anywhere in Nigeria.

NIGERIA has got a very high Fecundity, Fertility and Birth Rate. That's the Reason.
There is hardly any NIGERIAN CITY you would pass through without a major HOLD UP.
Thats secondary.

The primary issue is ....how many people that identify as Nigerians are truly Nigerians?
We are not breeding more than neighbouring countries but their population remained flat but ours grow exponentially.

For the sake of clarity on population density these are Imo/Anambra boundary, Lagis/Ogun boundary, Oyo/Kwara boundary and Niger/Kwara boundary.
To compare you have to use same scaling and criteria.

You cannot use weather map for one, use mineral resource for another and then use precipitation map for next.
Politics › Re: Sanwo Olu Appoints Apex Igbo Leader by MetaPhysical(op): 8:52am On Jul 31, 2020
In its position on Lagos, Ohanaeze has shown readiness to follow Governor Sanwo-Olu's policies for the State.

All Igbos in Lagos owe allegiance to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and its leadership; while the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State owe allegiance to President General, Chief Nnia Nwodo and the Igbo council of elders in Lagos State. The same applies to every Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership anywhere in the world— their allegiance is to the President General and the Igbo council of elders in their respective localities.

Sanwo-Olu is a credible leader who promises to uplift the downtrodden masses of Lagos state including Ndigbo. We are confident he will keep his words and accommodate Ndigbo in his administration, thereby giving us the needed sense of belonging. I hereby call on all Igbos in Lagos to support the Sanwo-olu/Hamzat administration, so we can derive maximum benefit from our host community as we partake in the dividends of democracy.

Those southeast states you mentioned contributes more to the national treasury than most of those orobo states. In saner climes you are rated by how viable you are economically than how much landmass you have. May be you should have mentioned Lagos since its the smallest, state like Rivers is not even up to any northern states if am not mistaken when you talk of landmass but economically contributes in multiples more than the whole Northampton Nigeria put together . Your basses for states to be merged because of landmass is not cogent.
...your response would get good support if it were true that the five states, or the region in itself, is a respectable economic performer.

You must find some other index with which to brand SE, land and economy ranking work against you. Lagos state is a tiny state but economic giant. The whole SW region is the top income earner for Nigeria and also the top culturally diverse society, and in land size the region is the biggest in the South.

So Ibos need to define new brandings, economic or geographic does not work well in your favour.

Explain what you mean? Which minister display lack of knowledge and misinform the public
The Legislature is probing loans for infrastructures in Nigeria. They have the right to do such oversight. Amechi has cautioned them, and I quote him below. How is the investigation of foreign loan in Nigeria going to cause panic in the Foreign investor and lead them to withdraw?
Is the loan illegal...huh That's reckless response and a misinformation to scare public.

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amechi has observed that the investigations of loans taken by the Federal Government could send the wrong signal to the lenders. Ameachi made the observation at an investigative hearing organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements in Abuja.

He said that the investigation could cause foreign partners to withdraw such loan facilities which have a negative effect on Nigeria’s infrastructural development.

The Itsekiri language is a major branch of the Yoruboid[3] group of languages, which as a group, is a key member of the Volta–Niger sub-family of the Niger–Congo family of African languages. Itsekiri is spoken by nearly 900,000 people in Nigeria as a first language and by many others as an additional language notably in the Niger Delta and in parts of Edo and Ondo states of Nigeria. The other key members of the Yoruboid group are Yoruba (22 million) and Igala (1.8 million) along with the various Yoruba dialects spoken in Benin and Togo.

Itsekiri is most closely related to the Yoruba dialects of south western Nigeria with which it shares close similarity in grammar, lexicon and syntax. Itsekiri represents one end of a continuum of Yoruba dialects from the northern Yoruba lands of Oyo and Offa to the western reaches of the Niger-Delta. In many ways standard Yoruba and Itsekiri may be considered official variants of the same language. Although Itsekiri and the South Eastern Yoruba dialects are mutually intelligible to varying degrees depending on proximity to each other, however, unlike Yoruba dialect speakers, native Itsekiri speakers do not recognise or use the standard Yoruba language as their official lingua franca. This may be owing to the historical isolation of the main body of Itsekiri speakers (in the Niger Delta) from the continuum of Yoruba speakers and centuries of developing a separate and distinct Itsekiri socio-cultural and national identity. Nevertheless, from a linguistic standpoint, both Itsekiri and standard Yoruba (based on the Oyo dialect) can be considered to represent two official variants of what is essentially the same language - one is a Southern Yoruba dialectal fusion of Ijebu, Ondo, Owo - spoken as a national language by under a million people and the other a fusion of Oyo and Eko dialects now spoken as a standard language by over 20 million people.

Enough of this nonsense from SE Governors.

Charity begins at home. Before you send felicitation to Muslims all over Nigeria, what are you doing for Muslims in your immediate community?

Alhaji Sani Mohammed Ugwuanyi is a prominent Igbo Muslim and has been excluded for so long from recognition at home.

ENUGU – MUSLIM community in Enugu North senatorial districts, Thursday called on governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to recognise and include them in the affairs of governance.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/08/please-recognise-us-enugu-indigenous-muslims-beg-ugwuanyi/
The Ndigbo Muslims of Nigeria are getting twitchy and itchy. The recent summit of prominent Ndigbo Muslims at Enugu, penultimate week, was an opener with the shocking revelations and anxieties it raised. It was the first national summit, therefore, it was like an awaited opportunity for the Muslim minority faithful to physically see themselves together under one roof and interact with name bearers some had heard for long. They used the forum to also offload their heavy-hearts of itching matters concerning their status in Igboland. Some of them shared personal experiences that were quite touching, though revealing of a forlorn people who have groped aimlessly for comforters that are essentially exclusive.
Politics › Re: Sanwo Olu Appoints Apex Igbo Leader by MetaPhysical(op): 5:50am On Jul 31, 2020
While emphasising the need to put records straight, Sanwo-Olu stated that his Chief of Staff (CoS) would henceforth, deal with Idimogu on matters relating to Ndigbo in the state.

Sanwo-Olu said: “My Chief of Staff will deal with Idimogu as the new apex political leader of Ndigbo in Lagos. We have heard of the efforts he has made so far in bringing his people closer to the party. We appreciate his contributions and would relate with him and Ndigbo cordially to make Lagos great for all of us.”
What does the above mean?

The Chief of Staff position is the door to Governor on policy matters. This means henceforth the leadership of Ohaneze, the apex Igbo socio-cultural association, must approach Lagos State Government through the Apex political head of Ndigbo in Lagos, Hon. Jude Idimogu, the representative of Oshodi/Isolo Constituency in Lagos HoA. The Honourable in turn will review and table the Ohanaeze issue before Tayo Ayinde, the CoS for Government to consider.

This is a very important shift from earlier positions in which Ndigbo in Lagos accuse Government of neglecting them. The leadership of Idimogu is a promising one. He is widely popular and respected among who is who of Igbo background in Lagos. With this choice Governor Sanwo-Olu demonstrates his belief in inclusion and shows he listens and responds to residents of the State.

In an unrelated report, Mr Idimogu issued a public statement not long ago in which he called his people to see APC as the way forward in Lagos. Below is a small caption from it.

Hon. Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly has assured south easterners of the presidency after Bola Tinubu’s two-term tenure as president.

Idimogu, who was recently elevated as the Apex Leader of the Ndigbos in Lagos State, made this known in an interview with journalists recently held in Lagos.

He told his fellow Easterners that power is not served to allocate; hence, they must all struggle to achieve it.

“By the time Tinubu is through with his two-term tenure, he would look at how he could support the South East.

“The People of the South-East should know that positions are not just given, they must struggle for it, and that they were not struggling enough.

“Also, South-East should know that they must work in tandem with other tribes, they must collaborate and that is the only way they can get it. Either they work with the South West or the North.

“The leaders of the Yorubas in this state would continue to control the state. The Ibos should fall in line with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in Lagos State and it shall be better for all of us.

What did it take for Yoruba to setup a security outfit? Legal backing, correct? Miyetti Allah cannot legally operate a vigilante in Yorubaland without a similar legal backing.

I want to see the Yoruba House of Assembly that will sponsor a bill .....much more debate or pass a law authorizing Miyetti as a vigilante group in Yorubaland.

If they fail to secure backing here whatever security operation they run remain illegal and criminal.
