Politics › Re: The Politics Of Ethnic Supremacy by MetaPhysical: 4:50am On Jun 25, 2020 |
Bulleye: Officially Nigeria is a federation with diverse ethnic nationalities and many religions. It is also recognized that these ethnic nationalities have homelands. And for ease of administration every citizen of the federation is expected to identify with his ethnic homeland and by extension the state where the homeland is situated. It is on this basis that president Buhari does not build his home in Lokoja. For him to feel at home and realize his God - given potential he lives in Katsina, among his ethnic group.
Notwithstanding this, in line with human nature, a citizen of Nigeria is allowed to leave his ethnic homeland for any part of Nigeria that he so desires to pursue any economic activities of his choice. He is legally empowered to defend his fundamental human rights in the pursuit of his economic activities. And if he is able to identify with the aspirations of the people among whom he lives he may be allowed to to occupy a political office and contribute to the development of the place he lives.
With time a well - established non - indigene may invite his kindred to partake in the prosperity of his new homeland, as distinct from his ethnic homeland. As time goes by the population of the non - indigenes may grow to such an extent that they become a community. With this latest development two things may happen: 1) the new community may be distinct and isolated from the indigenous community or 2) the new community may be assimilated into the indigenous community.
In the case of the latter there is little or no serious friction in the new emerging community. However most of the inter - ethnic crisises arise in the former.
For the the distinct and different community, the crisis takes a dangerous dimension when the indigenous community is threatened or felt threatened by it. And violence may erupt when the distinct and different community openly propagates their supremacy over the indigenous community duly recognized by the law.
To check this, new community of a different and distinct people must be at peace with their host community. They should avoid setting up a hate and supremacy organization such as Ipob that is creating crisis between Igbo and most of their host communities. I endorse this message. Good writeup! |

IkwerrePikin: Skip tribalism and read this:
[s]1. Amaechi whom Buhari loves so much (appointed & reappointed him minister of one of the biggest ministry despite oppositions from senate and co), Buhari’s loves and trust for Amaechi is more than any politician in the South. Amaechi who wants to be President and knows people are clamoring for Igbo presidency for equity and fairness, has come out to declear himself as an Igbo man ahead of 2023 even though the Ikwerre people has always made it clear they are not igbos for decades now. A recent visit to Port Harcourt by the Oba of Benin, also confirmed their stand as the Oba said his visit to Port Harcourt was to unite the Benin descendants in Rivers state quoting the Ikwerre people as one of them.
2. With the clamor for power to return to the South for fairness, If Apc gives Rotimi Amaechi the presidential ticket, as an Ikwerre man from Rivers state with the second highest number of voting strength in the South after Lagos) he will win Rivers for Apc, the entire Niger delta, plus all the Igbos in the South East who see him as an Igbo man closer to them than anyone in Nigeria, will all support him, and don’t forget his wife is an Igbo woman from imo state, and with the Apc structure in the South West, there would be a more united South to support APC more than a Tinubu candidacy whom the South South and South East do not support.
3. Babagana Governor of Borno state may be considered deputy from the North East bringing him who is from the state suffering more from Boko haram attacks closer to the presidency which will definitely help in eradicating Boko haram with his first hand informations and experience as a governor of that state.
•• El-Rufai happy birthday wish to Rotimi Amaechi confirms his love, trust and support for Amaechi with his northern cabals in Apc.
Recently Amaechi has refused to make his opinion known to the public on the ongoing crisis in Apc to save his presidential ambition in 2023.
Even his Ikwerre brother Gov. Wike is no longer fighting him or probing his administration as governor.
Amaechi also has the Age advantage compared to Tinubu his secret rival in the South.
Let’s assume Tinubu Is out of the race, who can stand Amaechi’s popularity and acceptance across the South? None
I see Amaechi-Babagana 2023 [/s]
what do you see?? I see bullshyyyte! |

We face enormous discrimination but still when our loving, beautiful ladies need money for cosmetics guess who they go to? Dear ladies, give us jobs like this so we can have money to care for your requests.

Four "Acting Chairmen" in just two weeks! Buhari cant lead anything not in uniform, we have seen this and know it to be fact. He cant even manage and keep his wife from shooting people. Stop looking to Buhari for leadership direction. The only capable leader to recover APC from its waywardness and mischief is Tinubu. All party affairs must seek approval from Tinubu pending when a substantial Chairman is in place and can resume operation of the party. Just case in point....Buhari stated publicly few months ago that all governors dealing with insecurity must follow Matawalle model and do what he did to manage banditry. Now he has summoned Matawalle to Aso and contemplating declaring state of emergency in Zamfara. Imagine if governors had listened and followed Buhari's advice few months ago. Buhari is incapable of leading APC. Tinubu is APC defacto leader going forward and untill Chairman is sworn in to lead the party. Get sense! Disclaimer - All Onitsha bridge head touts salivating to jump on Tinubu are advised not to respond on this thread. Same goes for bloody ipobs! |

macof: I understand you but this is not neccesay and not productive
I won't stay off any post. If I see people declaring Yoruba are what I don't know them to be I will ask for evidence. I do this everywhere even in real life conversations
And when I see posts about the Yoruba on things I know for sure are wrong I will make correction. When I am wrong I want people to correct me
That's how we move forward not by stroking egos and taking things personal. Reeks of childishness and some kind of psycho problem
If it is so easy to spoil other people's "theories" then those aren't even theories at all but just baseless claims What are you afraid of? Why don't you encourage your so called theories being challenged?
PS. absolutesuccess, prexios, 2prexios are the same person I did not say dont challenge what you find problem with. I say for a change, you lead and show what the facts are. Open a thread and document Yoruba roots as you believe it to be. |

danchuzzy: Lol. so now they detain animals too?
You're too kind sir
Thanks for your explanations Go and read history of Lagos. Back in the 50s or 60s or so...the city had an edict....all pet owners are mandated to get a tag for their animals. The tag is a control to identify and keep records on pets and manage their innoculation and veterinary needs. The tag is hung from a collar worn around the neck of the pet. Any stray animal can be traced if it has a tag round its neck. People will call animal control if they found a animal on the street with no tag. Animal control get there and arrest the poor thing. Nigeria has lost its ways...we went backward from civilization and we are now in 2020 subpar to where we are in 50s and 60s in terms of social progress. We should have advanced past a stage that we are arresting cows in farmlands. We are more primitive in 2020 than we were civilized in 1955 or thereabout. We go scatter this gaddem country. |

I get what they might have done.
Thank you kind sir. What is arrest? It is to detain. Simple! Putting handcuffs is a restraint against attempt to flee. If police say, Oga im detaining you, you cant leave this spot. He has effectively arrested you. He does not need to put cuffs on you. If you leave he can charge you for resisting arrest. |
