In this year a raiding party led by Zaid b. Harithah set out against Umm Qirfah in the month of Ramadan. During it, Umm Qirfah (Fatimah bt. Rabi‘ah b. Badr) suffered a cruel death. He tied her legs with rope and then tied her between two camels until they split her in two. She was a very old woman.

Her story is as follows. According to Ibn Humayd- Salamah- Ibn Ishaq- ‘Abdallah b. Abi Bakr, who said: The Messenger of God sent Zayd b. Harithah to Wadi al-Qura, where he encountered the Banu Fazarah. Some of his companions were killed there, and Zayd was carried away wounded from among the slain. One of those killed was Ward b. ‘Amr, one of the Banu Badr [b. Fazarah]. When Zayd returned, he vowed that no washing [to cleanse him] from impurity should touch his head until he had raided the Fazarah. After he recovered from his wounds, the Messenger of God sent him with an army against the Banu Fazarah. He met them in Wadi al-Qura and inflicted casualties on them. Qays b. al-Musahhar al-Ya‘muri killed Mas‘adah b. Hakamah b. Malik b. Badr and took Umm Qirfah prisoner. (Her name was Fatimah bt. Rabi‘ah b. Badr. She was married to Malik b. Hudhayfah b. Badr. SHE WAS A VERY OLD WOMAN.) He also took one of Umm Qirfah’s daughters and ‘Abdallah b. Mas‘adah prisoner. Zayd b. Harithah ordered Qays to kill Umm Qirfah, AND HE KILLED HER CRUELLY. He tied each of her legs with a rope and tied the ropes to two camels and they split her in two ... No Christian hate Moslems. What we do is simply point out the inconsistencies and errors in Islam. How that can be said to be 'persecution' can only be understood by little minds.

You certainly have the option of showing if those pointed out are not so. But what you guys do is to claim 'You don't understand', 'The Arabic has different meanings' or the like. That is if you don't run to the usual 'Allah knows best'.

At the end of the day you just choose to believe what you want no matter how ridiculous it might be. You close your eyes to clear issues and decide to run with your own ideas of what you think Islam is.

If we say that Mohamed married a 6 year old and show it from Islam's most trusted sources how does that amount to denigrating Islam? That is simply the truth. If we say that Mohamed raided caravans, attacked communities and took over their wealth, saw to the killing of a woman of over 80 years by tying her legs to two camels and driving them off in separate directions until her body was torn apart that is the truth. How morally justifiable these acts by a so called prophet are becomes the issue. If you think he was right in doing these things why do you think so? If another person thinks he is not right in doing them how does that amount to denigrating him? Is it not the Moslems who are actually INTOLERANT of other people's opinions?

If you have the right to hold your position which may be offensive to another person's moral standards why do you think he has no right to his own opinion? How does the expression of his opinion amount to 'persecution' of Islam?

Islam The Religion Of Peace

The persecution of Muslims on Nairaland and the social media in general is a clear pointer to the intolerance of Islam and Muslims by people of other faiths and beliefs..
It's obvious there is a deliberate scheme to bad mouth Islam and Muslims to stray. Some non Muslims on this platform seize every opportunity to denigrate Islam, it books, prophet and adherents without any modicum of restraint.
They come as Atheists, Christians and Ex Muslims (mostly false) in unity, to cast malicious attacks on everything the Muslims revere. They have pervert answers to every issue relating to Islam and they don't mince words. They understand Islam more than the Muslims. They give fatwas better than renowned Islamic jurists and sheikh.
They call the prophet, Qur'an and Hadith of the Prophet all manners of unwholesome names, and interpretations to suite their perversions and arrogance.

The moderators having noticed the Mischiefs by these non Muslims on this land, gave the Muslims a safe space to discuss issues that affect them. They still take the oath and come in to the Muslim space to malign Islam. Subhanallah! I wonder how all these attacks on Islam justify their own faith or tolerance for Islam.
Sometimes one wonders if these non Muslims have ever met with Muslims or does anything with Muslims to stoop so low when the issue of Islam and Muslims is concern.

Yes, there is free speech. There should also be feelings for the other. How do you denigrate what i hold dear and can even give my life for and yet expect peace?
It is equivalent to asking for the impossible!
If non Muslims choose to speak despicably about Islam, they should not query the way Muslims choose to respond. With the population of Muslims in Nigeria, nobody should feign ignorant of the Religion of Islam. For some Nigerians to denigrate Islam and Muslims on the social media on a daily bases can only be described as unfortunate and a hatred for what could have benefitted them if only they know.

The actions of a very small fraction of the Muslim population cannot be used as a standard for nearly two billion other Muslims.
There are Muslims everywhere doing great things to improve the world and humanity, there is hardly any mention of them. Yet, these enemies only concentrate on the few minuses from some muslims. It grieves their heart to see Islam and Muslims triumph.
Allah aptly captures it:

If something goes in your favour, it grieves them; but if some pain afflicts you, that pleases them. However, if you keep patience and guard yourselves against evil persistently, their deceitfulness will do you no harm. And indeed Allah has encompassed all that they are doing.
[3:120] Āl ‘Imrān

Faithful Muslims have said it on every opportunity; No terrorists group represents Islam, even if it claims to do. But, Islam gives room for self defence.

As the Holy Qur’an states:
“Permission to take up arms is given to those against whom war is made,
because they have been wronged and Allah, indeed, has power to help them.
Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly,
only because they said, ‘Our Lord is Allah.’...
(Al Hajj 22:40-41)

And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, Allah loves not the transgressors. (Al Baqarah 2:191)

Those who persecute Muslims on Nairaland are not any different or better than the Boko haram or any Terrorist group they malign Islam for. They are simply doing on the social media space with their evil thoughts and desires, what the Terrorists do on ground.
They should be reminded that Muslims do not take lightly insults on Allah, the Prophet and his household and the Pius companions. No apology!
Allah says:

[33:56]
"Surely, Allah and (all) His angels send blessings and greetings on the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him). O believers! Invoke blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation of peace abundantly (and fervently)."

"Surely, those who offend Allah and His Prophet, Allah curses them in the world and in the Hereafter and He has prepared for them a disgraceful torment."

[33:58]
"And those who hurt the believing men and the believing women without their doing anything (wrong), surely, they bear (themselves) the burden of a false allegation and an open sin."

Allah further warns those who are bent on maligning Islam and Muslims:

[33:60]
"If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is the disease (of malice and insolence against the Holy Prophet [blessings and peace be upon him]) and (likewise) those who spread false rumours in Medina do not desist, then We shall certainly make you Overmaster them. Then they will not be able to stay in the neighbourhood of Medina but for a few (days)."
[33:61)
"(These) accursed (militant, terrorist and riotous) people (engaged in violent anti-state conspiracies), wherever found, are to be seized and every one of them to be killed (as punishment for their rebellious activities, making them awful signs, to eliminate the threats to peace once and for all)."
[33:62]
"THIS PRACTICE OF ALLAH HAS (CONTINUED) THROUGH GENERATIONS THAT HAVE PASSED BEFORE, AND YOU WILL NEVER FIND ANY AMENDMENT IN THE WAY PRACTISED BY ALLAH."

Muslims on their part have shown tolerance in the face of all that is being thrown at them on Nairaland. They have shown that Islam is truly a religion of tolerance, peace, and good virtues no matter what any Atheist, Christian, or ex Muslim might think.

"You are the best community brought forth for (the guidance of) mankind: you enjoin righteousness, forbid evil and believe in Allah. Had the People of the Book also embraced faith, that would certainly have been in their favour. There are some amongst them who believe, whilst the majority of them are disobedient."

In light of the above verses, i will urge Muslims to remain steadfast in the face of gross provocation by Kafirs on Nairaland and elsewhere.

"... But Allah has blessed you with the love of faith and has embellished it in your hearts and has made you hate disbelief, disobedience and sins. Such are they that follow the path of Din (Religion) resolutely and steadfastly."

Muslims must continue to portray the qualities and virtues of the prophet (SAW) which eventually gave him victory in the face of all odds from evildoers. Allah is only giving the kafirs respite but awhile.

"They desire to extinguish the Light of Allah by blowing through their mouths. And Allah rejects (it) but (wills) to manifest His Light to its fullness, even though the disbelievers dislike (it)."

They crave to instill doubt in your hearts regarding your faith in Allah through conjectures and self desires and arrogance to the clear signs of Allah. Their efforts shall come to null.

"Know! To Allah belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth. And those who worship (idols) besides Allah do not (in fact) follow (even) their (own sculptured) partner-gods. THEY FOLLOW BUT ONLY (THEIR OWN) ASSUMPTION AND CONJECTURE, AND THEY MERELY INDULGE IN WRONG GUESSWORK."

Muslims should not get irritated or deviated by their vile words against Islam. But engage them with the correct perspectives of Islam and it practises. Muslims must counter all their lies and wrong interpretations of the Qur'an and Hadith for the benefit of those who might be confused by their perversions.

"And who can be more unjust than someone who fabricates a lie concerning Allah or belies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not an apartment in Hell (appointed) for the disbelievers?"

[28:87]
"And never let these (disbelievers) turn you away from (implementing and preaching of) the Revelations of Allah after they have been sent down to you. And keep calling (the people) towards your Lord, and never become of those who associate partners with Allah."

Lastly Allah enjoins us to invite them to the right path with wisdom rather than following them to the gutters.

(O Glorious Messenger!) Invite towards the path of your Lord with wisdom and refined exhortation and (also) argue with them in a most decent manner. Surely, your Lord knows well the one who strayed away from His path, and He also knows well the rightly guided.

May Allah accept our efforts towards educating the unbelievers about Islam. May Allah open the hearts perverts to understandings of Islam. May Allah make it easy for us.
