Good morning everyone. This was what happened.

When she made contact, I asked her if she wanted a commercial door or personalized door and she chose the later. I showed her samples and she made a choice. When I told her the price, she called me on phone to negotiate and I explained in details what materials I will work with and I specifically mentioned plain pan.

She was part of the building process as she receives daily update on what I was doing which includes more than two pictures at a time. After painting the doors, that's why she started the issue. I was still explaining to her on WhatsApp why the door can't have the design on the back but she rushed here. The reasons are as follows;

The size of pipe is 1½" and that design takes up 1¼" so there's no space at the back to do anything else.

Another thing is weight. Already that door is very heavy as it is due to the materials which are basically wrought iron. 14mm wrought iron was used to make the design. Adding more weight will affect the frame and hinges.

I even gave her an offer. I told her if anyone else will do that same door for 80,000 in Lagos, I will dash her 50,000 for inconveniences. The only reason I wanted to do the job for her at the price even with significant looses was to advertise my business here and around her estate and I told her that even before I started. Calling me a fraud and cheat wasn't what I expected.


At this point, I regret taking the job.

This is not true. Infact most times both front and back have designs. Below is one I did 3years ago for less than 35k. Pardon the paint stain on it. They just finished painting

sir, I currently have make these for 40,000. I even did it for few weeks ago for someone here. But you see the design in question, I won't do it for less than 80,000 today. You don't compare 1mm gauge design pan with 2mm plain doors designed with wrought iron rods.

This third and fourth design goes for 120,,000. And it also has a plain back. No single design on the back


I'm happy she will be receiving the doors today. Let her compare the quality of the later with former.

What's the size of the door she requested - 900mm or 1200mm? I asked because the attached sample that you said she requested is 1200mm while the one you made was 900mm.

This was me showing her daily progress report on the job. She didn't complain, she didn't ask single question. Na today I have finished working on the doors that she started telling me she was unaware.

Like who does that kind of a thing.
