I know Eli the priest had sons. Some of the disciples were married except for some who chose not to marry. But for the catholic chur j to have celibacy upon them as part of their service journey is what I have never truly understood.

It was actually to make sure that the priests property and wealth went back into the church after he died, instead of to any wife/children he might have

I dont think it has a scriptural basis, it was just to amass wealth for the church

i dont even talk much to a lot of people in my own extended family but when we have events in the village or something I will go and land myself in the middle of it, cooking, serving/entertaining people and running around even if I dont like the person

Yes o. I try to put myself in the person’s shoes. If my brother’s so called girlfriend is running from meeting his family, then she has something to hide. And you know what, all their girlfriends that we assessed we were damn right. Especially when it’s a close knit family and they know we are saying things out of love. I never wanted to lose any brother because of marriage so, we meet all their serious girlfriends and watch them closely.. get to know them and we all speak honestly on our opinion of them. It’s even in the woman’s best interest that they got to know us because, my brothers are very very stubborn!!!!

Their wives report them to us and we fight for their wives seriously. If a possible side chick even tries to show up, we their sisters fight the side chick . We would never do this for a wife that shut us out of their lives or even fight us. You don’t even have to be best friends, just genuinely meet them and be free.
