frog12: Young girls in developed countries actually travel abroad to work as nannies in places like Germany, UK, France and Spain. They are given accommodation and feeding in exchange for looking after the children, educating them as a role model and teaching them their language Its only in backward and barbaric countries such as these that being a nanny is an insult 1 Like |

Well done, NAPTIP! Good work Even though Lebanese are the biggest non-black minority present in Africa, they still see black people as animals. |

sassysure: To me, you are contradicting yourself. Remember that we are not talking about ourselves but the OP. She never said she didnt want him to come in. She said that if he's coming, he should excuse himself. Of course my door is always closed or locked wherever I am but I notice that not everybody does that. Shes not the only one who owns that room. To him he is going to pick something from his elder brothers room which he has been doing since before they married her. You wrote that women should stop doing "my food, my house" but you want her to be doing "my room". You wrote a whole post about compromise and then advised the woman to go behind her husband and begin to lock doors in their house, when its clear that the brother-in-law hasnt been cautioned. If you say she should lock her bedroom then you should also want her to lock her kitchen, isnt it Every time her husband doesnt do as she wants, she should rush and lock everywhere. Thats not how to deal with people. If you have an issue with somebody you let them know. Its only if she tells him and he refuses to stop it that she will know that the issue has expanded and will begin to lock the door, because at that point it will have become a matter of disrespect rather than carelessness. |

sassysure: You are making a lot of assumptions. She didnt say she doesnt want him to come inside, she said the guy doesnt excuse himself before barging in to take something. You dont know the set-up of her house. Whether she leaves the door open for ventilation purposes, or if she needs to monitor what she's cooking or what. Even her husband may get offended that she waits until he is not around before shutting herself inside the room as if his brother has Coronavirus. No need for "subconscious" anything and sneaking around, scheming and planning as if youre scared. I dont see why you should be locking yourself up inside your own home because you are afraid to open your mouth and tell your junior brother to stop entering without knocking. A simple word will suffice. The greeting stuff is not new. He is supposed to greet her as the elder and it may be annoying to some people that he doesnt do it. But maybe as he gets to know and respect her, he will begin to do it of his own accord. She shouldnt worry about it IMHO or she could greet him first some days to show that she is compromising 2 Likes |

sassysure: So if your sisters husband was inside his room, you could just walk in and take what you want to take without excusing yourself We dont know if her door can lock, moreover its totally unacceptable to burst into somebody's (matrimonial) room without knocking. Its like he has been entering the room all this while so he has forgotten that things have to change because his bro is married. OP is just bottling everything up instead of explaining things to the guy so that he will understand. The husband is already feeling awkward telling the guy who has been there all this time to start measuring and tip-toeing around the house, she should just build her relationship with the boy and stop being hostile. He is not a mind-reader and he wont know what she likes or doesnt like until she tells him! |

Iwantpeace: Wow. I think its communication; next time he does that you can try saying "Ahn, Im still inside na, wont you knock?". Maybe he would apologise and go back. There dont seem be any boundaries because you havent set any, then you end up storing up irritations in your mind. Its possible that he doesnt even realise that what he's doing is wrong |
Family / Re: My Brother-In-Law Dips His Hands Inside My Pot Of Soup by midnighter(f): 10:50am On Feb 06, 2020 |
Have you tried politely asking him to wait until you come back so that you can dish him the food? And asking him to bring out his plates when he's done As far as he is concerned, the whole battle is being fought inside your head and he doesnt know anything about it. Except you tell him and he refuses to listen, nobody will know how to advise you. Its kind of awkward though; is it that you dont dish him enough in the first instance or what That he had to wake up in the night and serve himself again 1 Like 1 Share |

KosiGee: Do you realise that gonorrhoea doesnt show any symptoms in some people? He's even lucky he noticed a small discharge and got treated in time; some people do not even see anything until their fertility has been completely destroyed. |
Family / Re: I Am Sterile But About To Be A Father by midnighter(f): 12:35am On Feb 06, 2020 |
Romangalactic: Sorry about that, we hope your fertility can be restored. Please try to tell the truth in future even though it may be embarrassing, your deception is quite bad since the majority of people blame women (and women blame themselves) for childbearing issues 2 Likes 1 Share |

kemicalreact: Assad is an Alawite and his wife is a Sunni Muslim. But you're right that they are not running Sharia. Even Iraq was not running Sharia when Saddam Hussein was the president. She became an Islamic country when she was invaded Come to think of it, Turkey is also a secular country. Until recently, hijab was banned in public institutions. But Islamism is slowly creeping in |

Liftitupo: This is exactly the issue with people in this place. I'm telling you somebody attacked me; instead of you to ask for the thread link so you can read it for yourself and check if its an attack or not, you jumped to conclude that he could not have attacked me, just because you admire the guy. Does it make sense I think you can see that I am at least basically literate; am I suddenly unable to tell whether somebody has attacked me or not? Na wa. That's the story of Nigeria...as we have PDP and APC, so we now have Camp healthserve and Camp Pistotita. It's possible for somebody to be wrong, even if they are noble overall (Pistotita) and it's possible to be right at times even if you may be comprehensively dubious (healthserve). That's why this discussion needed nuance and discretion so that we could get to the point instead of all the shouting. Nobody is right or wrong, all the time. What I told him was that the multiple monikers allegation was not going to work because that particular behaviour is already entrenched on the forum. When it became blatantly obvious that the two monikers were not going to be deleted even when they were clearly shown to be the same person, he should have seen the writing on the wall and changed his approach. Publicly abusing almost everybody who was present was supposed to do what, exactly If he has evidence to come and we all don't know the full story, that means that all of us are talking out of context and our analyses are useless. Therefore there was no need to call our attention to it until the "cover-up" could be exposed. And believe me, something funny is happening. I personally witnessed where he wrote something important and it was deleted almost immediately. That's when I advised him to change his strategy, but no way. What was the point of all the insult and long statement He said he was focused and determined to keep everything on track but he actually made it worse with his behaviour. He told us that he knows diplomatic officials who have Nairaland accounts, but if diplomats bulldozed and rampaged everywhere the way he does, so many countries would be going to war by now. I'm sure he will be back, but to what particular end? Our passport is one of the most disrespected and disparaged documents in the world. This country is chaotic and dysfunctional. Extraordinary approaches are needed to find solutions and not blind swinging and slamming where the case is against you already. |

Liftitupo: I actually highlighted your comment to show how he only picks on my posts and antagonises me when somebody has openly accused him and he has nothing to say about it. I don't know what his problem is. How can you type RIP for somebody who is alive If he has been wrongly accused, he is owed an apology but he doesn't have the right to go about threatening and ranting at people. I opined that Pistotita should tread more carefully with these accusations to avoid being suppressed and he turned around attacked me too. You can see that everything was eventually deleted, even if he may have had a point. I reserve full judgement until he comes with conclusive proof and evidence. We don't know who is guilty and who isn't. We can only suspect until further notice. In sure he will be back, anyway. |

newsgerian: Islam is not their state religion. They are actually a secular state and the president himself is not really a Muslim The problem started when his dad was installed as the head of state over a majority Sunni Muslim country when he was not a Muslim (or a loosely Shia Muslim). This is a sectarian conflict similar to what is happening in Iraq. A Shiaa in charge of a majority Sunni state (Syria) and a Sunni in charge of a majority Shiaa state (Iraq). With Druzes, Christians, Kurds and other minority groups in between. Eventually, something like this was going to happen. It's not a fully Islamic conflict like the Irish problem is not really a Christian conflict but a political one, though religion is a big factor. 2 Likes |
