Yes bt that’s not enough reason or motivation when u the leaders are ill treating the doctors.
And later go to London or Singapore for treatment. Even die in a hospital there. Shame!

The medical profession is seen as a noble one since they save lives.

But some Nigerian doctors are only in it for the money and respect.
Saving lives is not what they will eat...they are not robots...

Family › Re: The reason Why I Will Consider My Dad First Before My Mom by midnighter(f): 8:06pm On Sep 27, 2019
I have observed that dads seem to have more time for you when you are a bit older, have achieved some success and are able to carry an intelligent conversation

As a generalisation/stereotype, they may not be too great with early-life bonding or childhood stuff. But your mum can do both

Maybe thats why...people just remember all the love, encouragement and support from their mother in their formative years or when they hadnt quite figured themselves out yet

Dad is more like... here are your school fees, drugs, clothes and books..now go ahead and make something of yourself... then if you do well they will begin to warm up but you may find it difficult to bond then because you were not feeling his presence before

I mean, I saw it in a journal... huh

It would make a lot of sense regarding why a man would like his fellow, if his brain were more feminine

That would have been a good example. I was even about to ask Midnighter ways these wathom settings can be remedied.

Right now, boys are being sidelined because of the fight for gender equality. Let's simply teach these girls grit instead of placing vacancies for "Female Business Writer".
I didn't get you, you were going to ask me what?

On the other hand I am not advocating for those kinds of vacancies. I only felt that Amaechi shouldn't be so quick to trivialise the ways in which life is more difficult for women in our society.

I don't think every woman who rails against the system is "entitled", neither is calling us "manipulators" really called for, though I understand what he was suggesting. I take exception to those words.

My dear,

The opportunities are there.

Equally.
Yes, but are people equally given the chance to pursue them?

Like black people abroad are "free" to make anything of themselves, yet it would be foolish to say that racism doesn't exist and people still strive to create a more level playing field. Even though everybody should determine their path in life and not blame his failure on "being black" certain social constructs exist that make it more difficult

Acknowledging flaws in a system is not the same as telling people to hand you everything on a golden platter.

Have you seen any woman really serious in politics site the above as an example?

If you tell me some husbands act as stumbling block, I would agree with you.

The question is now: why did the wife choose a destiny killer out of the 3 billion men in the world?

If I remember correctly, you were still saying a wife should be ready to move with her pastor husband in the thread with pastor husband.

You believed the wife should dump her school and follow the husband to where ever when the need arises.

That is a business woman whose business would be killed.

Would it be correct to say misogyny etc etc is responsible for lower female business owners?
Answering what you've added

I didn't say that's what I believed, I said that typically pastors wives move wherever their husbands go, therefore I didn't understand why the man's wife was refusing to move if she went into marriage knowing that she married a pastor and all it entails except if they discussed something else beforehand.

Pastors wives, politicians wives, etc all have particular social obligations which they will be aware of when they go into it. Like a governor's wife is not going to refuse to accompany him on his campaign trail because she knew the deal already.

That's why I was trying to ask him if they had any discussion about this before he came to complain. I don't particularly like it but we came to advise the guy and that's what the Christian perspective is, as we have interpreted it

Yes, this is the type of societal construct that I am talking about. If I hear about a certain issue I will still be realistic even if I do not like or agree with the circumstances that give rise to it.

Nope, we do not have to see people cite anything to know that these structures exist and that they discourage people

Why should they let women in?

Who let the men in?
It was just a sarcastic turn of phrase.

They shouldn't "let" anybody in. But the opportunity should be equally available or rather there should be equal ability to pursue it

Well, I think you're cool sha. Most ladies I've come across are those who abuse the feminism thing. I believe in equal rights, just that women must understand that there won't always be a free quota for them. If men struggle to get things, women should too, that's equality. But women want things on a platter of gold and when they can't keep up with the competition, it's "a man world"
I understand you but how is it fair if women are struggling in an already rigged system? Everybody should work for what they want, why do some people have to work more than others, against the tide? That's just my issue with Amaechi's statement

If he must comment then he should acknowledge the societal infrastructures that keep women down, before he starts on how lazy or uncommitted or whatever we are

Oh oh! I get ya now.
But I will only talk when it's the system causing the setback and not the black man giving up.
It might be true that the system has created little rooms for women but it's also true that a lot of women are not pushing hard enough.
See the women that went for the last presidential race. Their major support comes from men that feel they can do it. So, I will tilt my opinion towards his argument that women should aspire to be better since they have the capacity for it.
Yeah they are not pushing hard enough, but I think some would push harder if it were not for certain factors and attitudes.

Yes, I saw those women, their efforts were good but unfortunately they received a low portion of the vote. At least they tried

Ok now. You can start addressing those social factors too in your own little capacity. All I know is that men won't back down or soft pedal on their own ambitions just because women want more opportunities. Go hard or go home is the name of the game honey.
Yea of course they shouldn't soft pedal anything, nobody wants them to. I just mean that we all should be given a fair chance and the systems we inhabit should reflect that
