We see what we want to see.

The world is looking for pioneers, not those that would fit an existing pattern.
I asked you a question, what does "fair" have to do with this conversationhuh

Im telling you that the uniform is making them look somehow youre talking pioneer

ok so they don't look good according to your own manner of standards. so what now? kill them? na u and that guy be the problem with this our society
Ogbuefi, I am telling you that as I am using my eyes to look at them, they do not look good. Who said anybody should kill them? Stop exaggerating.

Na you be the problem oh, people like you like making excuses for iniquity. Thats why our country wont move forward...seeing black and calling it white smh

Looking at it logically, they look good.
Fair looking chubby damsels on cultural outfits.

If you remove your mentality from slim tall bimbos you are used to, you would see that they look good.
They dont necessarily need to be slim. But in this case the shape is not rhyming with the cut of the uniform

Its you who has a bad mentality. Who mentioned anything about "fair" herehuh Pot calling kettle black.

Lol.

I want to know, does her own mother do that when she comes over? Thats just the key to this issue.

What an id!iot, so they married you without you knowing how to host a guest in your home. Your mother who washed your plate when you were a baby should come and start washing your plate again..crazy people everywhere

Though I dont have a problem with that one-weeks notice, that is a simple courtesy that allows a host to prepare for your arrival.

I dont have to look better than them to be able to tell that they dont look good. however if you think they do, we are both entitled to our opinions

I didn't see your pics.

If you were half as good looking, your pics would have decorated nairaland.
You dont have to be good looking to be able to tell if somebody else looks good. Thats an illogical fallacy

Stop being sentimental and look at the situation objectively. They do not look good!

Like I said, we are just helping the government by stealing books from the library. Nobody z reading them there and the librarian are nonchalant about caring for this treasures so we help them do the job. Hopefully some days when I die and my library z been checked they would gv me some award for having more precious historical books than the major libraries grin tongue
Yeah but it depends on which one you visit. Some of them are very nice

Yes some of those librarians are crazy lol. Im sure they havent even paid them and thats why they act like that

they are not old but have a bad diet. Not as slim and vibrant looking as we usually see stewards from other airlines

Maybe some days Nigeria will be great again and I might be a colonial ruler or smfin. Coz I feel somewhere in this world are still some folks hiding in some bush who are yet to have a country or so they just live in a niche etc. The movie Apocalypse fuelled my imagination of this though
Lol you will re-colonise Nigeria, one stolen book at a time...

Was he a traitor because he fought with the Federal troops? Don't forget he wasn't the only Igbo officers who had an allegiance to the federal troop. Though after kano massacre and all officers were to leave for their home states, some few officers still remained in the north Olusegun obasanjo and don't forget during the war, Chief justice Dr MI okpara, Dr Pius Okigbo, Chief Ekukinam, sir Louis Mbanefo and kalu still met Obasanjo in owerri for a meeting would you consider them traitors as well? And ifeajuna who was so loyal want to came of him? Kaduna nzeogwu has been a role model to me even before I joined the military what I came of him? This was a man loved and idolised by men of the Nigerian army and after he was released from jail prior to civil war he had the chance to join the federal forces again but he decided to allign with Biafra. What became of him? Even Ben gbulie and the rest.

Sorry for this I felt Biafra war was uncalled for and Ojukwu had alterior motives its not just about the war but he had some selfish ambition to fulfil. Were u aware he sworn he won't back down till his last drop of blood but when the federal forces besieged him he handed over to Maj Gen Effiong and passed the back door with his family out of nigeria?
Can you please modify this and make it clearer? I cant really understand the point youre making

If Nzeogwu joined biafra, then according to someone on the biafran side like my dad, he wouldnt be a traitor. But according to you, he would. Isnt that how military conflict works?

I had that Ben Gbulies book as well but I didnt finish it

Yeah he said he was a traitor. I was curious as to why so I decided to read it

Thanks... it would be nice but the problem with curator, librarian, agents and jobs like that is that they are less stable than science-related jobs. Once they cut your funding, you are finished

Return it to you? Abeg na normal thing in most niaja couples.
Lol that is true actually.

But stealing some loose change from your pocket is different from scheming to steal serious amounts from him

Sunset in Biafra was by Elechi Amadi right? I didnt get to read it. All of them were speculating since I saw the full account why we struck I let go of all stories of the civil war. Right now am on my command by OBJ and the book has been worth my time. I started yesterday Ceteris paribus I should finish today
Yes by Elechi Amadi. It was an interesting book...it had been lying around my house for years and I one day I decided to read it

Lol why do you keep stealing from the library? Its not fair now

I feel the book A General theory of oblivion is vague. Jose Eduardo is a Portuguese woman she can't tell the story like its from the horse mouth. Have read many books about the Nigerian civil war. But the major one I love and found useful most was by adewale ademoyega one of the coup plotters
What was vague about it? He really captured the chaotic nature of turbulent African countries in his storytelling

He is actually Angolan of Portuguese heritage. He was a teenager at the time of the war of independence

I had a lot of those kind of books at home but didnt read all of them...I guess youve read There was a Country and Sunset in Biafra?

Hv read that and I think I still have the hardcopy I stole from a library. I also read why we struck by adewale ademoyega, and many more books about African civil war etc.

Presently am enjoying my command by Olusegun obasanjo.

Talking about David and Goliath by galdwell. I think the book isnjust focused on a lopsided conflicts – where the underdog battles through and wins against the odds. But in real life, we often mis-read the odds. The book z good etc. But I feel its not practicable
I really enjoyed that book...it was kind of sad though how that woman just ended up wasting away for so many years. Recently I have been avoiding those topics but that book brought it back to life for me

Is it his autobiography? I have only read Bill clintons AB but i dont really trust the writing of all those people. At times I feel they are somewhat insincere

I think David and Goliath is just trying to get us to see the bigger picture and not limit ourselves. Not that we should be illogical and careless with our lives but that we should consider taking a risk if its for our betterment.

I didnt know there was going to be a madman in The Fishermen lol. But I do get interested in things concerning the brain

greatbrian:
I came across the fishermen but I must confess I just passed when I saw a Nigerian author
Hahaha cheesy Why! Thats terrible, the man is a very talented writer

There is also "A General Theory of Oblivion" by Jose Eduardo Agualusa about the Angolan war of independence. A stunning piece of writing

Ohhh. Selling point or buying point I guess there z a stereotype that comes with been a lady and most of the female folks ain't helping matters.

You read interesting. I love reading too you care to share some books you've read. And the ones u like best
Its a stereotype but its fuelled by guys who keep the demand for such things high

Hmm! What a question. Well at the moment I am reading "The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat" by Oliver Sacks. Its about the case studies of people who had different brain disorders...the author is a neurologist

Then "David and Goliath" by Malcolm Gladwell, about different situations where people overcame obstacles and hardship

I read "The Fishermen" by Chogizie Obioma a few months ago...it was captivating and also had a mentally ill character full of funny revelations like OP cheesy

And "Adjustment Day" by Chuck Palahniuk about a fictional revolution caused by an excess of young men in the world... the "youth bulge" . Though I didnt finish that one, it was still pretty interesting

I'd say a joke taking to far. But the guy will make a good writer. I admire his madding skills
I think he really does feel some of these things and he is trying to release some psycho-sexual tension by pouring everything out on an anonymous platform.

But he is mixing truth with fiction/jokes to relieve himself, so it looks like he is not serious when he is actually expressing some of the things on his mind.
