Really, I still wonder why almost every post on NL degenerates into un-healthy debates and worse of all the way a topic so quickly takes a detour and re-evolves as an ego flexing, finger pointing and name calling thread beats me. Can't we simple disagree and state why we disagree with others without being cynical or abusive. I see people just shooting down other people's opinion and not bringing anything to the table. There are many of us just reading and thinking how we can also contribute to a good suggestion but when it degenerates into "gang fights" on NL it waters down the whole thing. If we don't stay on track we get lost. Now Please if there is anybody out there who understansds our culture and the mentality of our government and can advise on a strategy/strategies then let's hear them and we can start building up, prayerfully, Tactically, Wisely(we need to engage key stakeholders who can galvanise the populace based on a common platform), we can use the local and international media, the NGOs, Activist etc but it's got to be pretty well organised, articulated and well orchestrated. oh and non -violent too. Now, I believe there even better ideas on this forum that what I have suggested but we can get opinions together as A TEAM agree on the best way to present our case. I believe there are lot's of people on ground who are also fed-up with the way our succesive regimes have run our country. |
Nope, never had any reason to deny NIGERIA. Straight-up Naija for life! Hey, I get blue passport but East o, West o, no place like home. , God bless Nigeria, my home, sweet home (x2) ![]() |
, And Africa is the champion of the world!!!!! |
it's brazil that is under pressure now |
brazilian no 4 is limping and i hear they already made their last sub. ![]() |
All these tugging at jersey by the brazilians, abi the ref no dey see them ? |
Ghana!!! what a missed chance and brazil decide to break away with the ball and almost scored from a point blank shot but the ghanaian goalkeeper saves the day. |
Ayew is nursing an ankle sprain, i hope it's not the same ankle cos he just picked a knock at his ankle, it's full time and now ready for extra time, come on Akwaba boys win it for Africa ![]() |
if this game goes into extra time, ghana might win because the brazilians look tired already |
Brazil is looking to get a penalty or a close range spot kick at this rate because they can't seem to breakdown the ghanaians who have managed to close them down effectively at the back. |
, And it's free kick to ghana, and a shot , , oh saved! |
The Ghanaian side 's gone panicky and very nervous with their touches after that red. I favor Ghana to be shooting from outside the box if they can't make any penetrations into the Brazilian defence. |
Very interesting comments coming from Siasia. I wish him the best in his future aspirations. |
Mr detribalized Nigeria aka Barrack boy.]@NUZO You should have just quickly told everyone that your idea of contributing to a serious issue as this, is to make an ugly statement and then turn around and dock under your "simple sarcasm". I hope you know I will NOT take all your insults personal plus you know everyone on this thread can read and see the point we both disagree on and the fact that you consistently swayed the matter sentimentally. After now You won't hear me respond to you on this matter, you bet? May the Lord, grant all the families who have lost loved ones to Northern extremists the fortitude to bear their loss at this difficult times-Amen |
Quote from: mike oscar on Today at 02:56:06 PM @Nuzo,

Whats all these rubbish? My good friend, It's either that you don't get it or you chose to "re-write" what I have written to you. Is it not clear to you or any of us reading my response that I AM A DE-TRIBALISED SPECIE OF HUMAN PROTOPLASM? First, I have lived and related with most people from other tribes in Nigeria and now even in diaspora, I was Born and raised in Lagos, went to Secondary School in the East, Was in the NDA, went to the University in Portharcourt, and spent some time in the North, Worked in Portharcourt and Warri for a major Oil/gas company and interacted very well with all these people. Most of my friends are Igbo, some yoruba, Hausa and some friends I made later in life from the Niger Delta state across the middle belt while in the Military. I have great respect for all Negerian tribes that is why you will never hear me join any of your clanish or tribal war(go check all my thread on NL). As an "ex-barracks boy", I speak Hausa, as a Lagos Born I speak, Readand write Yoruba(thank God for the Alawiye series by J.F. Odunjo), By association I manage the regular greetings and basic conversation in Igbo so to say "cos it's your turn this time" trivialises the whole issue here. My concern is, no Nigerian citizen deserves to be murdered in cold blood by fellow Nigerians(including your late relatives or my cousin) and as you have been repeatedly told by others, money can't buy her back nor be equated with her precious soul. I guess the moral of their refusal to collect the money is not even about the amount, it is a protest to the government for them to get to the bottom of all these killings up north before the entire "South" starts a retributive tribal cleansing. I hope i have come clearer this time and please I'm not talking rubbish as you noted in your opening remark |
@Asha80My sister, She went on National youth service. It is mandatory in Nigeria if you will need to work or do some sort of business, or politics etc. You only get exemption if you are over age. You 're thinking of her not getting re-deployed then you can't really blame her because that would have defeated the purpose of the scheme strictly speaking. |
Quote from: udezue on October 13, 2009, 07:47 PM@Nuzo, I have seen a lot of thread from you in the past few months that I have joined NL and as sad as I could be reading some of your contributions I have managed to steer away from you and some others because I won't join issues or want to be entangled in NL bickerings and petty quarrels because I am a person of faith and have to pick carefully what I say to people on NL so even if it does not edify people it will not leave an indelibly negative impression on people and above all that I will remain a good witness of Jesus Christ so I can win some. Why do we always have to become so tribally incited on almost every thread. I think this forum should be a place where those of us young and old ( young at heart too) who are concerned about lending our voices to moving our nation forward will begin to share thoughts and galvanise those physically on ground back home in Nigeria to push for a united Nigeria devoid of corruption, tribal sentiments and hate for one another. You said "Igbos have been told to move on after their brothers and sisters hav been killed in thousand in recent times. So, why is it wrong for Obudu people to move on now? Because she is not Igbo?" That Igbos or any other tribe have been incessantly killed and their properties lost in the North does not in anyway make you better if such callous act are visited on another tribe. Neither does it make it right in the sight of God either. I can undertand your frustration but don't get it twisted because it is not only those of Igbo extraction that have been wasted up North for every and any excuse some of those Islamic extremist can get. There's been several other southerners including my own cousin and some lady from my community killed up north and I am not Igbo. It is not tribe or number of deaths we are talking here it's the fact that a group of people scattered all around our nation has the audacity to decide when we should come into their own part of the country and altimately that we don't return alive. I happen to come from that region(Ogoja to be precise) and I tell you the truth there are a lot of enterprising Igbos who have lived peacably in these regions since the 60's i.e. Obudu, Ogoja Boki, Ikom, Obubura, Calabar and even Ugep with all the myth sorrounding their propensity for canibalism in the old days. We have an NYSC camp there(I hope it's still there) and you will not hear this sort of thing happening. See my guy, both my parents are from Ogoja but my Dad left the comfort of Lagos and everything He had by the grace of God and joined Chief Ojukwu and Mr Philip Effiong to plan and execute the Biafran War till the last day of surrender. He is still alive and well today and still very Biafran in Mentality but have conceeded to me on some occasions that if we the younger generation will rise up given our vast knowledge and the benefits of hindsight and our very troubled past, we can build a better Nigeria devoid of tribal sentiments at the drop of a hat, deviod of corruption, nepotism, favoritism and all the other anti-progressive vices that has perpetually rivetted us to one location or at best kept us in a holding pattern. Look at that pretty young girl, think my friend, if it were your own sister, will you take it laying low if some body else made this sort of comments, I beg think am you hear, because it doesn't sound right/well at all. I hope you get a chance to retract and not go on the defensive as I have seen in your responses. God bless us all, Amen. |
@Africhika i heard she was dating a doctor in maryland. is that the new husband?Yep, I heard that's the guy. When you say "the new husband" are you suggesting she was married to some one else previously? |
I think i m having a crush on this lady called Chimamanda, and it gets stronger every single day, who in the house has her contact ?@RooneyBoy, you're coming too late, she just got married ![]() |

[ b]But Tunisia also wins emphatically,@agerwhenindoubt, Brov, your prohecy was only 50% correct.Tunisia won 1-0 not emphatically ![]() You try sha, becos the gift of Prophecy is subject to the Prophets. We prophesy in part and Know in part. Welldone and keep stirring it up. |
He should be sacked! The big boyz do not respect and listen to him.So far this has not been his complain. His complain has been that we Nigerians are too impatient. On the question i voted for him to stay and complete his job so that we don't have problems with the NFF bureaucracy of taking forever to source a coach WHEN we eventually qualify. Question to all is, Is it not possible to draft Westerhoff from Ilorin to assist Amodu as consultant, tactician or confidence booster or something?? Anyone please. |
o.k. now i get it. So we practically left it late in the "Fergie time" to get a win. I bet Amodu watched that match between Diego Maradona's Argentinian team and Peru that ended in a dramatic 2-1 in favor of Maradona in extra time. If He did the Maradona's celebration slide then this matched was completely plagiarised ![]() |
He definitely didn't want to get married. Im sure he shot her on purpose Theres gonna be some life insurance policy.I thought so too. Don't mind the old man He has only succeded in buying cheap job from the Cops. Them go follow through till He starts singing like a bird. |
Hey guys, I have been missing action today. Was in Church. What really went down, i see a lot of tensed thread here? anybody, anyone? |
IMHO aside from his efforts to re-brand America to look better than a bully nation, that visit to Egypt, France, Ghana etc and the speeches He delivered during those trips just bumped him further up in line for the |
why not give the job to our home-bred Maradona 'IBB'.That may help Console the Original Argentine Maradona in his current struggles, and to know that He has a clone who will end up just like him across the atlantic will be very relieving ![]() |
@CarlosVent,see amodu has not lost a match we should not crucify him.if Siasia goes there then he wil spoil d good name he has built. Objectively so true. AMODU HAS NOT LOST A MATCH, and He hasn't even crashed out of the world cup qualifiers yet. What if He eventually makes it to the world cup and plays in the semi's for say 3rd place, I HOPE WE ALL GET IT!! ![]() o.k. hold your fire, i'm only saying this is very much a possibility as much as him crashing out of the qualifiers so let's give him a chance to turn the tide ![]() |
Germany won My wish was done. @dayoKanu, eeerrrmmmmmm, but they didn't beat us 4-0 or 6-2 now . At least we no be 3-lions, ![]() |
@Okeey. 6006 have won on paper but after the grilling process they will have to go through at the U.S. Embassy many of them may not eventually qualify. Plus you have to have somebody out here in the U.S. to help you land, at the end of the series of interview that will follow the euphoria of winning, the nuber of actual winners may drop by half ![]() |
What is the point of suspending the strike for only two weeks @Mr Crackles, That's because they believe Oshiomole may NOT be able to pull the deal through, so in the likely event of a raw deal, they will just seam-lessly resume the strike business ![]() |
Shame on Nigeria. My two cousins are in University of Ghana medical school; about to enter their 6th year next month and they will finish before a Nigerian medical student that started before them. Remember their own is 7 years while naija's own is 6 years. They told me the school is uptite and there is continuous power supply in Ghana. The worst is yet to come. See university of Ghana website and compare with any Nigerian university. Shame on us.@Aloy Emeka, True, but is it not because they can afford it? Most of the ones left to suffer Prolonged incessant strikes are the ones to bear the consequences plus the rest of them who want to Process transcripts or have get any documentation from the Universities. It is so paradoxical that for the first time we will have a president who has a post graduate degree, A vice-President with a PhD and a Minister of Education with a PhD and they cannot quickly resolve issues or sympathise with their own constituency. |
