Cox I refused to serve, my dad started acting funny. I simply put him on one side.... It got to a point he reported me to my siblings.

My advice for you though is to face your life, get the little help you can get from them Cox is their responsibility and you didn't beg them to born You.

However, channel your anger into seeing that you succeed in school and life. Start looking for little ways to make money. A similar experience from my mum made me define at 21yrs the type of life I wanted.

How many student even dey hug lecturers in the first place?

Have a box where students can drop petition against any lecturer involved in such act, without the student's name and identity included in the petition. collate these every month and investigate the lecture whose name comes out the most. The rest will be on the watchlist.

If I look though a lecturer's course data, I can categorically tell you the kind of lecturer the fellow is.

I so much believe that the black continent is a one kindnation. They are truly good in nothing except sex, oppressing, cheating and exploitation.

Exactly. I could remember while teaching for a particular school. I authored a practical workbook for the students only for the supervisor to tell me that such is not allowed in the school. Only to my surprise, 3 weeks after, she bought similar workbook from outside for students to use. That is the first time the school will introduce it to the students_something of my idea. My question is why did she refuse mine? Up till now I have been unable to figure out the answer.

If the future of this nation is tied to the education of her citizens vis a vis the youths (children inclusive now) then one can say with surety, Nigeria has no future.

While the problems of the education sector have always been stated and debated, solutions is what should occupy the minds of our leaders/followers at this very crucial time.

1. Government should fund schools at all levels adequately.
2. Very good hands should be admitted at tertiary institutions for teacher training.
3. Salaries of teachers should rival doctors. Truth is doctors save one individual from untimely death. Teachers teach one child who can cause/save unlimited number of people from untimely death.
4. Their should be a value-re-orientation nation-wide led and championed by government at all levels. It also means that government should lead by example by not stealing public funds/alloting the bulk of national budgets to themselves.
5. Beyond lip service, criminals of exam fraud should be prosecuted with very stringent punishments.
6. Academic successes should be rewarded and encouraged. Not just the BBN of this world.
7. People who are schooled and skilled should be assisted to earn jobs/businesses and lead meaningful lives. This will make educational successes through hardwork attractive.
If the foregoing and many more can not be implemented, then send it's unfortunate.


PS: It amazes me that young people actually cheat to gain admission/go through the higher institutions despite the present rate of unemployment amidst certificated people.
It's really an irony. One would have thought, they'll keep away and seek other routes to life successes.
It only shows there's something hugely wrong with Nigerians, both young and old! It defies every normal logic, almost supernatural!

The exam malpractice we are talking about started with the officials of the exam bodies themselves. I witnessed Waec and Neco exams that was written this year. I wanted to trace what was happening in the educational sector. I was shocked to find out that the officials of these exam bodies are responsible for exam malpractices. Whenever an official is send to a school, what the school does is to pay him a certain amount of money and students are free to cheat. When an exam bodies like Waec and Neco can not screen who they employed, tell me how will it stopped. Gone are the days when police and other security personnel were sent to schools to monitor exam malpractices. Not only in Secondary School, it also happens in the University. Cheating in Nigeria is called wisdom and you that cannot do it is likened to a fool. Oga, I have seen a lot in this country. I cannot type anymore. I once taught in a private school and due to failure of these lazy students, I was forced by the management to resign. Today, I hate the people of Nigeria. Nigerians are very corrupt. Like Jean Jacques Rousseau said: Leave them the way they are and they will leave you the way you are.

thats not the point. people like you fail to understand world dynamics. you only look at the salary but forget that the cost of living in the UK is 10 times more expensive than in nigeria. someone earning 16,000 pounds a year in the UK ( which is what cashiers in the UK earn ) is equivalent to someone earning 40,000 naira a month in nigeria. because rent in the UK alone is 5 times the rent you pay in nigeria. in UK the average rent is 700 pounds a month. thats 7200 pounds a year. that is 4 million naira a year that they pay in rent. what is rent in nigeria ? you can get a nice place for 800,000 naira a year. on top of their rent they are obligated to pay council tax. this is 1000 pounds a year. thats an extra 500,000 a year. on top of that they are obligated to pay TV license. thats another 500,000 naira a year. on top of that they are obligated to pay for putting their car on the street. thats another 500,000 naira a year. do you get the picture ? you dont compare salaries, you compare the cost of living and a banker in nigeria with his 80,000 naira a month has a higher standard of living than a banker in the UK with his 16,000 pounds a year. and yet they do not steal customers money.

Extortion and stealing is in the blood of almost average Nigerians.

This kind of news piece will not go viral, no. It is good news. The world is more interested in bad news when it comes to some target nations. Nigerians themselves won't talk widely about this, no. The west isn't, so they won't. You hate to hear it.

May the Almighty strengthen and shower with Grace all Nigerian Queens and Kings home and abroad, fighting tooth and nail to give this nation a name worth celebrating even amidst the atrocious acts of our leaders past and present.
