cutievik: Guys believe it or yes it was real,I was there it was said by the priest of the churuch during his sermon in the service that Jesus would visit them yesterday,At about 12PM yesterday the image was found on the left upper most part of the church.I came to uromi to pay a visit to my grandma which I had to just stop by at ubiaja to see my aunty when I noticed the whole town was agog with people all trouping to the church to see the image of mary which they said appeared on the wall,so my cousins and my aunt said we should join them,so w e did. When we got to the church believe I shouted out to my cosins saying 'Na water be this'I had to turn round to verify by the wall behind was as dry as a desert, there and then. I agree it was and image but who's image I do not knw,all I saw was a woman carrying a child of which I haven't seen marry before so I cudn't tell. But if there was an image on the was YES THERE WAS!!!Would Jesus be the child being carried? Thought Jesus had grown, became a man and baptized by John at about age 30yeears and then killed when he was about 33 years. Also Stephen saw Jesus fully grown standing beside God - that was after Jesus's ressurection. So this apparition would have us believe Jesus is still a child being carried about by Mary, abi? This story and the whole Mary worhip thing is just crap and unbiblical. |
Allahu Akbar. Or is it Hail Mary. SMH. Looks like water smear on a wall. Obviously for those who want to believe what they want to believe. What's a dead woman doing appearing as water smear on dirty walls anyway? |
tintingz: we are in 2013 I will not support nor give my little daughter hands in marriageSo you support that that law be changed to disallow child brides. Great. |
tintingz: I'm a yoruba muslim, he said it rightBack it up from the Quran, then. |
kolanpas: am christain my postors are busy raping minors but i condem muslim wanting to marry her if she will to b married. As for islam on marriage, islam did not put any age for marriage,it is only when 3 condition are met b4 she can marry: 1)she must be emotionally ok i.e she must to tell whom she love and whom she does not love which means husband should nt b force on her 2) she must have what u can c in girl to call her lady eg breast fully grown e.t.c 3)she must be interllectual i.e she can different right frm wrongNice. Please show where in the Quran these 3 conditions are stated. |
spyder880: OK, I have a 36 room hostel coming up at Owerri in the coming months, I think the budget is N22m if my memory serves me right. I will check again later this night for the actual budget of the project. Also would like to know the specifics of this. If you can, please send me a message. |
Why does Prof Soyinka call the First Lady "Shepopotamus" or "Hippopotamus"? Is it because he thinks she's fat and ugly? Does the Prof detest people because of their physical looks, which is largely a function of genetics? It's ok to speak against the First Lady over her alleged involvement in Rivers State affairs, but the name-calling over her physical looks is rather childish and very low - poor judegment by Soyinka. |
fellowben: It baffles me how some folks on Nairaland reason. this is why Nigerians have been decieved since 1966. Make a statement on tv or the papers or show them a video and you have succeeded in deceiving them. only a few can actually think outside the box. Cant you all see there was an attempt on chidi Lloyds life initially, which was to cause confusion by the 5 clowns in the house and achieve their impossible aim. what you all saw on the video was a reaction from a fattally wounded and battered lion. Ever heard of the FFF hormone. many would do more if in his shoes. shine your eyes. condemn mediocrity, lawlessness and undemocratic tendencies. It's even more baffling how you'd jump to put an assault and murder case on others with no proof they are connected to the case, while exonerating the person the whole world has seen video of committing the assault. As 'fatally wounded lion', Lloyd sure didn't move like someone injured. He ran around using the mace pummelling the man who now lies critically ill. It's all on Lloyd, whether he was fired on by hormones or crack. My bet is on crack. |
clemtony: In terms of coruptn,9ja was rated d 9th Nation out 100+ nation in d whole world. What did he discover? Why didn't he produce the evidence when he was mouthing off? If he was sure of his position and had proof, then he's a disgrace for apologizing. Methinks the man had an opinion because he didn't like the outcome of the votes and starting talking crap- considering he apologized instead of standing his ground, Mark was right to call him to order. |
wayodude: Point is it is not the sort of home anyone will deep down inside proudly claim even though alot of peeps would say different in public. It is not the sort of home anyone will want to go back to in a hurry...if they dont have to.Fact remains that millions live here with friends and families. Some are quite happy surrounded by their loved ones. Lots of people work in the oil and and gas industry, telecoms, banking and own businesses and are quite cool with it. They occasional travel out, but return to their homes in Naija. Life continues. Yes it's no 1st world country, but nothing is gained by constantly painting doom and gloom about the country. For me , my concern is largely the poor medicare, but heck people abroad don't live forever anyway. Thx fully my family remain healthy, but I know any thing remotely serious might mean overseas trip. Those painting utopian society abroad should know people know the reality. Be thankful for the good in your life, let others live theirs. |
Garri the 1st: Just in case he dies, his blood and the tears of the bereaved will hunt GEJ and his illiterate wife to their miserable graves..Nope. If he dies, his blood will be sorely on Lloyd Chinda who assaulted him repeatedly with a mace, ably assisted by a certain policeman. |
Garri the 1st: All those involved are PDP members so ask the ARSE-Hole rock drunkard aka Goodluck Jonathan to say something about the mayhem he's orchestrating in Rivers state.Should the man die, his blood is sorely on the man that assaulted him - Chidi Lloyd. Don't get it twisted. Considering the immense opposition ( ACN, CPC, etc) support Amaechi is enjoying and these people urging him on, seems there's enough blame for all. |
One wonders what the media and opposition would have demanded be done to Chidi Lloyd for the assault if Lloyd was opposed to Amaechi and the assaulted fellow an Amaechi supporter. |
superior1: I just passed a proposal to the counsellor of my ward to employ me as his NL image maker.Listen to both sides and don't rush to conclude. There's enough to show Amaechi is no saint. If there are threads praising Amaechi, why can't someone open one stating Mbu's position? Is Mbu not entitled to a hearing? |
Facts & Truths:State Police would work. We just need to think thru the implementation and put in some checks. The State Police could be under control of the State House of Assembly, for example. If the Assembly members want to sell their power to the Governor, then it's their call. The FG can retain certain powers and certain jurisdiction (like the US FBI). State Police can work if we think thru it. We actually need to weaken the centre more and empower states govts more. It's what true federalism is all about and it's what Nigeria will eventually end up with - we are only postponing it. |
wirinet: You people have no idea of what the word federation means in the term Federal Republic of Nigeria. A governor was suppose to be responsible for the security of his domain and the federal govrnment should only be involved if the security situation is beyond the capacity of the state. A situation where a governor does not have power to give orders to the police in a state under his governance is not only strange, it is stupid. It is even stranger for the Federal Police to be enforcing state laws enacted by the state assembly and interpreted by the state high courts, which may sometimes run contrary to federal laws.I agree with you State govt should control their Police. Completely. And their resources too. Also "Federal Road" rubbish should be abolished - a road passing thru a State should be the responsibility of that State. It would have stopped the BH rubbish, among other things. Sadly, Amaechi's buddies in the North largely oppose State Police and other aspects of true federalism including resource control. Ameachi's right hand man, Niger State Gov Aliyu pointedly rejected State Police. The FG Exec alone can't just implement State Police - Constititional amendment is required and it'll likely get killed by the North. The PIB to keep the Oil industry alive is being killed by an endless legislative review. Likely if GEJ proposes State Police today, CPC, ACN, APC will be up in arms opposing it, as usual. Whose fault is that? |
baby_123: Does this change the fact that he let Bipi and his thugs run into the chambers, beat their colleagues and take over? What about that show of shame by Bipi and his thugs PUSHING policemen to enter the assembly to go and fight again. I didn't see Bipi and thugs being arrested or an accidental discharge happening. We know what happens when a regular citizen tries to do such. Now, please convince me from what I saw on video evidence that Mbu has not been compromised. No doubt the relationship between Amaechi and Mbu has deteriorated. According to Mbu, Amaechi is the one trying to pocket the CP. Other videos show Amaechi and his supporters ( including Policemen!) might not be so innocent afterall. There's enough blame to go round. Heaping it all on Mbu's head seems simplistic and quite possibly wrong. |
Every_LadY: QUESTION IS:IS IT THE SAME HOME WHERE CULTIST ARE HONOURABLE MEMBERS? IMAGINE NIGERIAN YOUTHS DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN STREET/WATERSIDE CULT AND REAL CULT LIKE BAGGARS? THIS IS WHAT WE CALL HOME.It's still home to 160million. Ur point? |
How many people critisizing FG Police's handling of the Rivers issue support State Police? The problem with us is the readiness to blame instititutional problems on individuals instead of taking decisions to build strong institutions, which is what we really need. The solution to allegations of FG using police to brow beat states into submission is State Police with joint control from the State Executive and State House of Assembly or even under full control of the State House of Assembly. Simple. If it's true GEJ is behind Rivers problem, it's not the first time we've seen such. Something similar happened during Obj's time. As long as the Executive have 100% control of the police, it'll happen again. We can run away from it all we want, good governance will continue to elude us until we do the right thing - true federalism. Roads, Police, Education, resources etc should all be exclusive to the States. Weaken the centre, empower the States and see the States ( or at least some forward thinking States) thrive. |
baby_123: LOL, so even CP Mbu has NL representation...wonders.It's good to hear different sides of a matter before deciding. Amaechi might not be so innocent afterall. Nothing wrong with having an open mind. |
Clerverly: why is this not on front pageApparently, it's not negative enough against GEJ. Seems if you want an article on front page real quick - just insult the President enough. |
phantom: this is kind of thing you are bound to get when an individual with a noble ideology joins a party with zero ideology.the PDP has no ideology.just a party of low lives.Actually no Nigerian party has ideology. Not ACN, CPC, APC or PDP. All of them are the same pile of poo. |
What's the likelihood of this making front page? |
Demdem: Asari, what has Gambari, oyel, Aboki, our resource etc gat to do with the fight between Lloyd and Bipi?Is it now a fight between Lloyd and Bipi? Thought it was GEJ fighting poor, innocent, cannot-kill-a-fly Amaechi? |
Not allowing State Police is Executive's and Legislative's biggest failure. Disgusted with the FG Police situation. States should own and run their Police, while FG keep theirs ( a, smaller unit a bit like the FBI). |
masterdre: ... Mr. Mark ordered the lawmaker, Babajide Omoworare, to either apologize for his remarks to the media on Wednesday in which he claimed the result of the vote was manipulated, or face the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Complaints.Senator Babajide Omoworare, that's what happens when you mouth off without evidence. If you had proof the result was manipulated, you should have tendered or put it on youtube. People really need to stop mouthing off their biased opinion as FACT. |
Sincere 9gerian: Its a matter of nomenclature. One can decide to collapse all the charges into one and call it a particular name or compartmentallise the charges. For the GSM networks, because of the nature of their services, ALL charges have been built into the call and data tarrif. But PHCN decided, for ease of administration, to compartmentallise their own charges into- VAT, fixed, energy consumed, etc. They should lump the charges together. Bottom line, people should be charged for only what they consume irrespective of the components of the bill. End of. |
Whether Jonathan is involved in Rivers crises or not is still debatable. Surely Amaechi is in deep, quite deep and he's no innocent victim as videos of his supporters and his undisputed involvement in getting the mace shows. How come no one is slamming Amaechi for his thuggery? Abi, no one is insulted by the video of Chidi Lloyd pummelling somebody with the mace? What's with the Jonathan witch hunt largely by the SW and the North? Na waoooo. Even the far worse Obj wasn't as hunted as Jonathan. |
So a terrorist accuses the President of being a terrorist and some people think it's newsworthy. SMH. It happens to Obama all the time. No biggy GEJ, no response needed for the desparados. http://www.infowars.com/bill-ayers-says-obama-is-a-terrorist/ http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jun/19/noam-chomsky-obama-dedicated-increasing-terrorism/ Much to the annoyance of plenty desperate to rule people, GEJ will finish his first term in 2015 and possibly go for a 2nd one. Just like the much maligned Obama. |
Sincere 9gerian: From my understanding of the electricity billing system, the FIXED charges is a necessary evil. The FIXED charges is the component of the electricity bill from which the distribution company replaces damaged or faulty distribution facilities: transformers, cables, feeders, etc. Funds from the FIXED charges are collected in a pool from which these facilities are replaced or repaired immediately without bothering the consumer. The fixed charges was until recently N500 per month.People understand the need to maintain infrastructure. The telecoms companies do same, yet don't have a fixed charge. What needs to happen is to dissolve this charge as % of the energy rate, instead of a fixed charge. No one wants to pay a fixed amount for services not consumed. Let it be part of the bill. Or would you pay a fixed charge for owning a mobile phone line, for the crappy reason that the Telcos need to maintain infrastructure? |
pimp_lucious :Thx for the link. I've submitted a complaint. Others should do same. |
PortHarcourtBoy: Disconnect your meter and connect directly to sourceIsn't that a crime? It should be, to discourage bypassing the meter. Best way to handle is to go thru the right consumer rights channel or the unions like NLC/TUC. |
