I know but if it is not study route, I can't risk it
If your are skilled and such skill is on the occupation shortage list (not those care jobs stuff), then you are good to go. I am on the UK skilled worker visa, a clinical role in child and adolescent mental health services, though I was already qualified to get a job that would grant me UK skilled worker visa with my B.A degree but I wanted to do a Msc in a specialty when I was still in the mood, reason I came to do the UK through study route.

In Igbo culture, the widow and her family do not return any bride price upon the death of the husband as the marriage ended with the death of the husband, not divorce.

that is the level they had put women in this country my brother. Patriarchy in a 3rd world country is worrisome
This reminds me of a couple who came to the UK in September 2021 via study route. The husband was the student while the wife was the dependent and working full time as a domiciliary care worker to support clearing her husband's outstanding tuition fees as the husband was strictly working 20hrs weekly as a student and covered their rent and feeding. Few months down the line, the company gave the wife a small car to be driving to their different service users' homes to provide care, the company gave her a fuel card and were responsible for maintaining the car which she drove home daily even when off shift, the car was with her.

When she was off shift and the car packed in front of their residence, oga go dey insist on wifey to give him car keys so he could drive around for a while but wifey would refuse, reminding him that should he get involved in an accident or got fined for traffic violations while he is the one behind the wheels, she will be in trouble and insurance would not cover the damages. That caused a big strain in their marriage, oga reported her to relatives back in Nigeria of being selfish and arrogant. cheesy cheesy cheesy

That your claim is somehow unbelievable. 14 year old leaving in a 4 bedroom duplex? How many house in UK is even 4 bedroom?
Read up if you have not had personal experience.

I mentioned 3 bedroom duplex. One is the young person's room, one the office and the third, the sleep -in room for staff.

The young person who have been taken away from the his/her family through the courts, is placed in such a home. There homes run by private firms who have gone through the scrutiny of OFSTED, the regulatory agency. Government pay between £13,000 to £20,000 per week for a child in these homes

The more complex the child's issue is, the more the homes charges because there are children who need 4:1 going by their care plan which means 4 staff will be on shift for that child, if it is a 12hrs shift another set of 4 workers will take over from the first set and the next 12hrs shift.

I don't feel pity for them as they were very aware of what they were getting themselves into but choose to go ahead with the belief that God is a miracle worker and their case would be different. One who have been here since May with no single shift, is still sending money to her pastor in Nigeria for seed sowing. angry

If you are truly skilled in the Health and Social care sector I am more conversant with, you will not need to pay anyone even one kobo for UK skilled worker visa especially working with children and young persons that is dire need of many professionals. For example, for just one 14 year old kid living in care under single occupancy and accommodated in a 3 bedroom duplex with a car, there is a minimum of seven workers running shifts around that child while the company is making good profit from that one child every month.

At least the man has a family give am him property don't subject the kids to emotional trauma.

If you've not been to an orphanage you will not really understand what it feels like.

The feeling that nobody loves them will always be there...

If the man will not take responsibility at least he has relatives who would treat the kids better because ngoro na ngoro (blood na blood)

Monika sef no fit replace blood
Because I have been involved in many children' homes and orphanages, it was one of my motivation for my postgraduate specialty in clinical child psychology.

My work experience has made me know blood is not always blood.

Men who are monsters, have always been monsters right from their adolescence, some way back from their childhood but societal restrains, laws and earning an income have helped in suppressing their demons.

If you know you are becoming monstrous, go see a therapist who is professionally trained to help you through it because your spouse is not one.

It's a clear case that your husband is going through depression and transferred aggression.

You should have just left the house for him with your kids to stay with your parents.
Laslas you don show am say you get power with the arrest. I can't judge you though...

But the man will never forget it.
I can't say whether the arrest is right or wrong. We live in an era where spouses kill each other.

Just understand he is frustrated...
The arrest is right. It has halt the intensity of the situation that was physical violence based and could have ended up in a murder.

Sadly beggers can be choosers (they will do what's in the best interest for the kids not what you want)

Op should take the kids to the mans people.

You people insist on holding onto kids that you cannot take care of.

The man has family and probably is still alive but ego and maybe what my sister told me.

Carry pikin go give the man relatives asap
Maybe the man who knows he has a child somewhere lives in Jupiter and is not aware the mother of his child(ren) is now deceased.

Those children are better off in a well managed orphanage while OP regularly visits them with stuffs and spend time with them.

I feel you didn’t interpret the context of his post correctly. Endless migration has messed up the UK… Aside migration from third world countries, even first world European countries migrate in droves to UK because of the strength of UK currency, minimum wage, available jobs and social benefits they will enjoy. Citizens of Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, and other top EU countries migrate to UK in droves. Not mentioning Poland, Romania, Lithuania, etc

Now here is the difference between the American migration you posit and UK migration. UK is a small island country with limited landmass and resources, unlike Canada and US that are among the top 5 countries with large land mass. If you are in UK, you could literally see everywhere choked with infrastructures stretch to the limit.

Yes, UK is still better than naija
I live in the UK and cannot see everywhere, UK has green open spaces die! Well planned forests and farms are so common on both sides of the road when travelling between towns and cities. When doing the about 90 mins road trip from Cambridge to London, there are massive stretches of open fields, forests, rivers on both side of the road as you drive along.

Open marriage in going on in many marriages even in Nigeria, it is not what is being announced.

I have been involved in a marriage therapy session where the issue was not the fact that both the husband and wife were having sexual partners outside their marriage that have produced 3 children but wifey was spending too much on a particular Ben 10 (sugar boy). cheesy cheesy cheesy
