Please make use of newcomer services near you. It's free and they'll help you with settling down including finding daycare for your child/ children. Search here https://ircc.canada.ca/english/newcomers/services/index.asp For calling Nigeria, I use Rebtel app. You'll get $10 free if you use my referral link and add $1. https://rebtel.app/6acFxKLCIqb gaeul: 2 Likes 5 Shares |

There are many to choose from, however, consider network coverage and price. You can also shop around as there are usually good deals available. You can use https://www.whistleout.ca/CellPhones to check and compare prices too. Made the below video itemizing things to do in the first few days of landing in Canada - with tips you can find helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfjUNHWxyu0 canadaishome: 8 Likes 1 Share |

No, you can't use shares/equity as POF. I have seen somewhere on this thread where someone used 25% of their pension, just not sure if that still works as it is not precisely liquid cash. See IRCC's guide on POF here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html You can watch this for POF tips too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvx-BK-urYc Phebean2304: 1 Like |

Yes, that's your opinion. I just don't think it's fair for you to make such submissions about her spouse based on your assumptions. No one is feeling attacked here. My suggestion to Winkky remains that she should work with verifiable facts, not emotions. I wish her family all the best. Prettiepearlz: 1 Like |

Prettiepearlz:And how do you know this? Please be calming down. I believe Winkky should make her decisions based on known facts, which is what IRCC/ visa officer would work with anyway. The DNA test is one very important way to put the matter to rest once and for all. I just hope they can get it done before ITA. 2 Likes |

Go to Page 1 of this thread, all the info you need is there. It's a tough one but not impossible. You should consider learning French and taking TEF, both you and your spouse should try to max out on IELTS, evaluate highest educational credentials. You can also look for a provincial nomination that you're eligible for. Someone 40+ also asked a related question a few pages back. You can read the responses to that too. Zurrielle: |

What's the credential you evaluated and what's your simulated CRS score? Asking this because you mentioned that your agent advised you to get another degree. If your answer to the above question is BSc or equivalent, please take ednut1's advise and face the task of increasing your CRS. Pascal122: |

You can answer your question yourself chief. What exactly do you do to earn money? Once you've determined that, do you spend up to 37.5 hours doing it weekly? If YES, it's full-time. If NO, likely part-time. Also, do you have an offer letter regarding your employment with the Asian coy? If YES, what does it state? (full-time or part-time). Being remote shouldn't matter. Can you get a reference letter from them as proof? Read page 1 for info on self-employment. Pascal122: 3 Likes |

You can write the letter in ink and sign. No big deal. That's exactly what my spouse did. Yes, you can write a single LOE to explain all the seemingly unclear issues in your application - type this, and keep it simple. upkay: 1 Like |

I don't know if FRSC issues the letter in Lagos. I guess it depends on who is helping you with it there (civil service). I believe someone shared contact in some pages back. icehot: |

Take the high-paying job in Nigeria. That your 5m is not enough for an MSc programme in Canada (considering school fees, living costs etc.) That money can be used for many other things in Nigeria including getting an MSc degree. Your work experience at the federal job, MSc (if you decide to do it in Nigeria), and good savings MAY come in handy in about 3 years if you're still interested in moving to Canada. DL abstract from FRSC in Abuja is free, only that you'd need to find someone there to help you send it via courier (not free). A second option is through the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa (https://nigeriahcottawa.ca/drivers-license-letter/) - which is also not free. Be sure that the letter is acceptable in your province before going through the stress anyways. I know it works in Ontario, not sure of the other provinces/territories. I guess you're yet to decide on your city of choice. Check for shared apartments on kijiji.ca. You may need to land first so as to physically see the apartments (except of course you have someone to do that for you). icehot: |
