My dear, I wonder what she will gain by doing that. Regardless of what he is told, he will soon be a grown man and will see for him self if his father is truly irresponsible.

The best she can do for him now, is to protect him from any thought that will break him emotionally or psychologically. He will appreciate her in future for being a good mother and respecting his father despite his shortcomings.
