As of 2015 there were over 2.1 million Africans living in the USA known to the government and at least half of that number not known to them. Nigerians represents about 35% of all the African population in the USA so you do the math.

200,000 is still a gross over-exaggeration. There probably aren't up to 100,000 Nigerians/Nigerian-Americans in Illinois. You might feel that there are more because of your social circle but there aren't, official numbers put the total number of Nigerians in America at less than 500k (it's actually quite a bit less).

And I know the Oak Park/River Forest area very well.

There are a least 1 million Nigerians in the USA without proper papers and most times law enforcement/immigration does not even have time for them, immigration/ICE is focused more on Hispanics and those from Mexico. A sharp Nigerian would have found someone to marry and get his or her papers, it only takes 6 to 8 months and costs between 7k to 15k dollars minus official fees. It depends on which part of Europe and which part of the Americas.

In the Iberian peninsula it is common, likewise Latin America but you won't find Jesus among the native peoples of northern or eastern Europe.

Nor have I ever met anyone from the Middle East called Jesus.
