Only foolish people waste their time in prayer. And didn't the mythical Jesus have something to say about those who pray in public? All these idiotic xtians who don't even understand the religion that they claim to follow. |
AlPeter:The link that you posted says prescription drugs i.e. those given by legitimate means. And more teens use alcohol than illicit substances, according to the link that you posted. That is because those are legal substances that are used by the parents which the children have access to. Which goes back to my point about children mimicking the behavior of those around them, especially their elders. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, today’s young adults are consuming less alcohol and illicit drugs (cocaine, MDMA, heroin, etc.) than ever before...Also, more kids are graduating from high school and fewer are committing violent crimes or getting knocked up than they were 20 years ago. http://www.vocativ.com/culture/society/generation-y/ You have lied and your arguments are based on misinformation. You do not understand human beings. Like most Nigerians you have no clue what it takes to raise a well-balanced, self-confident human being and this is why you think that assaulting a child is a solution to indiscipline. You do not understand cause and effect. You have a poor grasp of society. And yet it is people like you will cry about why Nigeria is the way that it is. The average woman has 5 children in Nigeria. Can the average couple cater for 5 children? Do they have the time, finances and information required to raise 5 children successfully? That is the at the root of this issue. When people are overwhelmed because of indiscipline and poor decision making they end up resorting to drastic measures in a vain attempt to correct their mistakes. |
AlPeter:Most kids in the US are not 'crack heads'. Stop lying. In fact they've found that millennials drink and smoke less than their parents did. You have a very narrow understanding of discipline which is why you think that beating children is a solution. Discipline is about teaching people responsibility, respect and duty. You cannot do that if you treat human beings like cattle. |
AlPeter:You either did not read or what I wrote or cannot comprehend that which you read. Parents need to be a better example, which means acting in a manner in which they want their children to behave. If you want your children to be civil and respectful then they must be. If they want their children to be productive, then it is on them to be. If they want their children to be honest, then they are the example. If they want their children to be irresponsible then they as parents will have several children that they cannot cater for, moan and whinge about it and then blame the children. To top it off they will assault their children whilst telling them that violence is wrong. There are nations in which beating children has been entirely outlawed that have fewer problems with public order than Nigeria. By now we should understand that beating up children has no benefits. |
AlPeter:I don't think you know what the word 'hypocrite' means if you are calling me such. Children react to stimuli and act according to the influences so if you wish the children to become model citizens then you would need to ensure that those around them are. The same foolish parents who lie and steal to make ends meet will wonder why their children do so without any sense of shame. We need to hold prospective parents to a higher standard. We need to hold those with children to a higher standard. One of the issues that Nigeria has is the ridiculous birth rate, it is a sign of irresponsibility and indicative of the fact that many people have no clue how much time and energy it takes to raise a child. Most seem not to be aware that raising a child takes time and patience as well as the basic material necessities. The problem is that people such as yourself have no understanding of human beings, child development or even basic cause and effect which is why your response to everything reverts around violence and anger. |
AlPeter:No, it is you who is 'naive'. People like you wonder why Nigeria is such a lawless, heartless place yet advocate for children to be treated like slaves. |
babyfaceafrica:There is no legitimate reason for a child to be beaten like this. |
Pinnick and the other idiots around him are so useless. Everything they do ends in disaster. I hope their next plane journey lands in the sea. P.S. Much respect to the players for doing as well as they did despite having to fight against their own federation to be treated with any kind of decency. |
All those women who to Mountain of Fire Ministries pray the same way. Repeating 'die', very loudly as if it will change anything. Very silly. |
bligs:It's either they embrace reform or they continue to lag at the bottom of the global socio-economic pyramid. And population pressure will force the northern criminal elite to do something because the current formula is not working for them. |
bligs:True federalism means that there is no 'sharing' to speak of and politically it won't make a big difference because the state governments will have greater power. True federalism means an end to the system of the federal government requisitioning the proceeds of state resources and then 'sharing' with those who produce nothing. True federalism will mean that the North will have to improve its economic output to survive, or starve. The current system rewards stupidity and fecklessness. |
bligs:What do you mean by 'receiving end'? |
OsuIbo:People were campaigning for full federalism during GEJ's government as well. Or have you already forgotten about the National Confab that GMB refuses to read? |
"Home grown solutions" from the man who runs to London at every opportunity? This is a man who has refused to engage with the Nigerian media but will talk to the foreign press at will. |
Watch as the foolish crowd sit there and do nothing but cheer. |
robosky02:People are still swayed by 'body-language' after all the mess that Buhari has caused? |
shyling:Right. Federal government should not be taking 87% of anything. Especially when that money is being wasted in Borno, Zamfara, Katsina et. al. |
Children are naturally curious. Children thirst knowledge, It is their elders who lead them astray by telling them to focus on nonsense. like religion. No one naturally wakes up and decides to scrape their head and knees on the floor. |
The last quote was a lie and so is this one. Donald Trump isn't that eloquent but you fools will believe anything. |
Anyone who campaigns on the basis of religion should automatically be disqualified from running for public office. You see what we have with Buhari. You see what happens in the North. Nothing good comes from deepening religious sentiment. Besides, Nigeria is a secular republic. |
Adaure4ever:That would make too much sense and this is Buhari that we're talking about. |
Sorry to hear that. Mine took a day. But that was under a different regime - pre 'change'. |
omojoshy:If they start agitating for self-determination that is a good thing. Then they cannot stop full federalism from being instituted elsewhere. |
malvisguy212:People do a lot of crazy, irrational things. A suicide bomber kills for entry into paradise, a xtian refuses to renounce his faith for entry into his version of paradise - are they both right? When a suicide bomber kills people in a church do they all go to paradise? |
If we're going to say that this administration should be forgiven for 16 years of PDP then should we not forgive the PDP for almost 30 years of military rule? The military caused far more damage than any PDP government. |
Something very absurd about Sanusi being so concerned with Palestine when his fellow Northerners are wallowing in poverty, illiteracy and now Polio (again). Face your own current problems and stop talking about the Middle East and GEJ. |
kingofthejungle:90% tax. Use that money to fund libraries and information technology education, available to all. In the same way that Nigeria has a church on every corner so too do we need libraries and venues dedicated to open access education and information technology. |
I can't wait to read the book as to what happened with the various actors in this APC sham government once they're done destroying Nigeria. Does Osinbajo really believe what he says? Does Fashola? Did they really believe that pegging the Naira would protect the poor, helpless northern masses from further impoverishment? |
In order to remove the agbero menace the Lagos state government would need to do a thorough job of clearing away all the illegal settlements in the state. As things are now they can always hide in Makoko and Ajegunle. |
omonla555:He shouldn't have to pay for people who are there taking up space. He's there to play football not to be their surrogate father. Useless people. |
blantyre:What are they doing in that region to combat the issue of desertification? Are they doing anything to slow down population growth or do they still insist on having an average of six children per woman? |
teeboila:Cows are more important than women in the North. |
