OBlaize: You are still rambling
But in a way I get where you are coming from
Man has wreaked a lot of havoc all in the name of "religion" but religious or no, the facts still remains, there is a God and I will prove it with sound scientific evidences if you would let me.
That you are not Aware of any scientific backings of creation does not dismiss its existence.
Open your eyes and look around you, nothing happens by chance because to every action, there is a reaction.
First law of motion states that "every objects continues in its state of rest untill a force acts upon it.
Think about that Rambling: Lengthy and digressive
rambling - (of e.g. speech and writing) tending to depart from the main point or cover a wide range of subjects; "amusingly digressive with satirical thrusts at women's fashions among other things"; "a rambling discursive book"; "his excursive remarks"; "a rambling speech about this and that"My response was a few lines, as opposed to yours. Now tell me again who is rambling. I will probably keep saying this until the day I die but my major gripe with many religious people is that I'm pretty sure that many of you have not read the religious texts on which you claim to stake your lives upon. It's either that or you do not understand the language in which the text is written. You have already displayed a poor grasp of English, your use of the adjective 'rambling' to describe my response would be more appropriate to describe your own lengthy tome. There is no scientific backing for your god(s). None. You do not need 'faith' if you have proof. Even the Catholic Church has to push people to believe based on faith, if they had proof they would be ramming that down the throats of the foolish masses instead of their centuries old dogma. |
Christianity Etc › Re: In Last 30 Years, Black Churches Have Taken $420 Billion From Members by mmsen: 10:31am On Mar 08, 2015 |
deeplow: It isn't the fault of the givers, it is of the takers. The bible supports tithe (to the best of my knowledge) and whatever worthy donations to the cause of the Lord. I just don't often hear enough preachings, as to how the Lord has directed the pastors to "use" these tithes and donations.
if the money they get is well spent on the poor and betterment of the people, it wouldnt be an issue.
But what do I know? Touch not my annointed, they say. The givers have a duty unto themselves not to be taken advantage of by those in authority. If there are 300 members and only one pastor where does (or should) the power lie? The pastor needs them to pay tithes. They should understand that they do not need him. P.S. Good documentary on the subject - Black Church, Inc.: Prophets for Profit http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3801062/ |

OBlaize: Interesting...
I like minds like yours...
Minds that thinks so rationally and so "outside the box" that its stuck in the clouds, no pun intended.
As pertinent as it may seem to help bring u back to earth, I would in the light of "common sense" refrain from doing so, reasons being that I am not sure wheter or not you are open to sound resoning and logic or you are stuck on "claims" and blind arguments.
That being said I would still give a few pointers to better butress my points, there is a God, and he created all things, my proof? Science.
Let me know if your are scientifically inclined to listen to the facts and I would go further to argue my point There is no proof of god - religious people would not need to run around screaming, abusing and killing people because of their 'faith'. Faith, by default, would entail a lack of scientific proof. |

OBlaize: Come up with facts and figures, other wise just blow whistle instead of uttering philosophical mumbo jumbos. You believe in a god for which you have no proof. Many of you 'god fearing' types follow religious creeds where you are openly told to rely on 'faith' and not ask questions but you demand that everyone else come up with evidence. It is for the claimant to show proof of the claim. Otherwise the default position is to dismiss the claim. You fail to be logical because you (like billions others) have been brainwashed into believing it is your duty to defend the irrational. |

mulattoclaro: good. I'm happy you know that. A democratic regime comes along with freedom of speech and expression. But the fact there's freedom of speech and expression doesn't give anyone the right to insult the highest authority in the land. Freedom of speech and expression doesn't give anyone the right to talk the way he or she likes. A president's office is the most difficult office on earth. Do you think it's easy being a president? Those idiots on nairaland who always spew trash if given the opportunity to govern this affairs of this nation can they do it? You think the President is worried about nairaland comments? People should have a right to comment. I don't understand why someone with no power would defend the integrity of someone in a position of authority. How does it benefit you to stifle opinion? |

mulattoclaro: It's only in Nigeria people can insult the president and get away with it. A boy is currently being detained and awaiting trial in Turkey for insulting president Erdogan. I wish all these all these Ap-shit supporters and their leaders could be made to under the same treatment. But I'm not bother cos we have FFK and Faypse to do that for us. Whether anyone likes it or not. Gej will remain the president of Nigeria till 2019. Meanwhile GEJ till 2019. It is not "only in Nigeria" that Presidents are insulted. The American president is often insulted, this was especially true during the Bush era. Jacob Zuma is often the figure of fun in his homeland. A true democracy entails allowing people to speak about political issues and figures - sometimes such speach veers into the realm of jokes and humor. Democracy can only begin to work if you have free and open dissemination of information. If you impede on that right then you have a sham democracy. |
