seborrhic: If 11,000MW will guarantee 180million Nigerians and industries 24hr power supply, then Nigeria is in deep state of underdevelopment and economic stagnation. Even if it's just to power households alone,11,000MW being sufficient for 180m people on even a 6hour basis talkless of 24hrs power need, means we have been deceiving ourselves as a country and are still basically in the economic and Nation state of the western world of the early 1930's. That's precisely where Nigeria is, if that. I would argue that Nigeria is where western nations were before World War I. |

BiafraforTrump: IMO is on point bro you need to invest in IMO now so that you can be one of the pioneers in no distant time cos Ihedioha has got a plan.
All IMO needs is a standard market big enough to be a local government of its own somewhere in Okigwe or Orlu axis, now build estates around it with constant electricity and water flow to encourage traders and business men to leave Owerri and relocate down there, this would increase our IGR in a great way in IMO. We can also contribute money(like we did with our airport) to set up our own refinery in Oguta or Ohaji to refine our crudeoil which we have in abundance just as NNPC is doing with our gas at Ohaji at the moment, we also lay gas pipes connecting the whole LGA of the state for free flow of gas. We can now use the proceeds to invest heavily in our palm oil sector like the Ada palm etc for a massive production of palm oil that can sustain the whole of Africa and its people, it is possible OK just look at Malaysia that learnt from IMO state how palm oil have changed their lives.
We don't need all these mega city bla bla bla, just one industrialized IMO state with all these economic plans I just laid down can take care of all that and more in future if we take it serious, it will take care of roads, schools, well equipped standard hospitals, railways, sports centers, and mega-cities..
We are educated people and should think as such. God bless IMO... By 'market' I hope you don't mean the usual chaotic mess that Africans seem to favor. Why not a mall? |

This is a very bad idea. DSTV should be the only cable broadcasting all Football matches. Its not their fault we don't have suave businessmen who are brave to invest in cable stations. Imagine if one useless cable like startimes have monopoly rights to premier league and dstv retains their champion league rights.. are you saying we would start hunting and buying for 2 or more cable TV to watch matches?
It's not by force to subscribe for Dstv, if you are broke, you can go for GOTV or Strong TV. Dont be who you are not. Supersport shows EPL games and is available on GOTV. What are you talking? |

Their mainstream culture is toxic and Africans copying them should learn from the long term consequences that come with such lifestyle. And African culture is not toxic? Is that why Africa is the way it is? African Americans and Africans pointing fingers at each other is like watching two twins calling each other 'ugly'. They don't want to acknowledge how similar they are. |

emae009: I'm not making excuses. like for example where I am living at the moment there's a waste disposal can provided by the government but you still see people dumping refuse on the ground next to the can... how do you blame the government for that. there are cans in the market although not nearly enough. the market authority charges levy but they can use such revenue to support the government in such area??... that's why I said we as a people need to chip in every now and then to help wherever we can I've seen how it is Calabar on certain days but Uyo is worse, much worse. If you have seen how they pile rubbish at Marian market, well that is how they do almost everywhere in Uyo. It is utterly disgusting. As to people dumping rubbish next to bins, that is a foul habit that should cause people to be fined. Once the authorities start holding people to account the issue will subside. But environmental intergrity is not seen as important in Nigeria, unfortunately. |

emae009: Do you want to talk about the present day Cross Riverian government?? No government can work magic... you can't be satisfied with everything the government does.. this is the problem we have in Nigeria. Please how many times have you reported indecent disposal of refuse to your Local Government authority or how many times do you do sanitation in your immediate environment. We can't keep waiting for the government to do everything. We as the people are the government without us everything has no meaning The current CRS government is an absolute disgrace, the worst that I've seen, that does not negate the ineffectiveness of government in AKS. Dealing with refuse isn't "magic", it's an essential service. The fact that you used such words and are intent on making excuses for them shows me where your mind is. |

We're only getting started. imagine renaming Akwa Ibom to Calabar north, south, West like are you alright?? Can't the south south coexist together like the UAE with each region developing at its own pace without the need to encroach on another's autonomy?? AKS can barely deal with refuse under this administration and the LGAs are as useless as ever. |

Pakistan: 216,565,318 million Indonesia : 270.63 million Bangladesh: 163.05 million You need to look at the numbers of children that the average woman is having in each country.
