henryobinna: your first paragraph, if you're not from the UK what's yout business with how they're supposed to get their trading partners back? It's their problem to solve, they've made their choice and you must accept it that they don't want to be practically feeding the rest of the union. You have to respect that and stop using condescending words on them. It's not like the rest of Europe is any better, they need the UK just as the UK needs them, they negotiate simple. I'm not bothered because I know they'll always find a way around that and moreover am not from there.
I don't care much of your opinion of trump for several reasons including, am not his son, friend, partner etc.. Am not even an American so if you think he's all that you said well that's your problem. One thing you can't fault are his policies. Call him shi..t call him pi..ss call him anything, dude has the interest of America and Americans at 'heart' and that's all that matters to the voters, not some globalist i.diots. Irrespective of race or anything if I was an American he'd have my vote over and over not some globalist basta..ards looking for how to destabilize the entire world with their warmongering.
And Oh... Clinton..? Trump is an angel when compared to her. That's the only thing I have to say. Go read up about how many people she's killed, alongside their god(Obama) The rest of Europe does not need the UK. There's nothing in the UK or produced by the UK that Germany and France do not do better. Or Poland and the Czech Republic do not do at a lower cost. It isn't condescending to state the truth. That is why practically every business leader has said that Brexit will be a disaster for the UK, it makes no practical sense. It is why major car manufacturers have all but completely exited the UK. As for Trump and Clinton both were/are terrible but one (Trump) is worse. |

executive12: So you, as a man, does not have responsibility for raising your kids. Only the mother has that responsibility? People look for sales girls, generally because the girls are more trust worthy. Of course I have a responsibilty to my children. That does not negate any of the issues that I have raised. Points that you keep ignoring. |

executive12: There is rot in the country generally. However, the average Nigerian woman is more responsible than the average Nigerian man. If you look around you, you will see many signs posted by businesses looking for sales girls. You will hardly see ones looking for sales boys. I wonder why. The girls that are sleeping around are being enticed with money by men. We constantly read about the sexual harassments of the female students in the Universities by mostly married male lecturers. We rarely read about that of female lecturers against male students. Happens but rare. They look for sales girls because those girls use the allure of sex to sell. That isn't just Nigeria, that happens everywhere. It has nothing to do with them being more 'responsible'. And yes, there is a general rot but it begins in almost every household in the nation. Most of these homes are established by women. Women who choose who they marry, where they live, when they have children and how many. Which brings me to my next batch of questions about these 'responsible' women... Why is the average Nigerian woman not more responsible with her own body? Why is she having 5 children whilst living in poverty? Why do they resort to brutality to raise their children? Why so much corporal punishment? Why are Nigerian women not shouting for better health care? Cheap or even free contraceptives? All that money that is wasted on pilgrimages and other nonsense could be used to improve the quality of life for the majority, instead Nigerian women are silent and even play into the foolishness. And why are they so quick to rush to church and give credence to the destructive habits that take place there? |
Politics › Re: Diezani’s Dominican Republic diplomatic passport protecting her from prosecution by mmsen: 10:07am On Dec 01, 2019*. Modified: 5:08am On Dec 20, 2020 |
executive12: Men are obviously more corrupt. Nigeria will definitely be a better place if our women are in charge. In a typical Nigerian home, the girl child is generally given proper training in how to take care of herself and the family. She learns how to sit properly, how to dress appropriately, how to cook, also learns proper personal hygiene. The boy child is left to roam the house and neighborhood, learning nothing useful. The girl develops into a more responsible woman able to take care of herself and family while the boy develops into a mostly irresponsible man with little useful life skills. A lot of Nigerian men cannot even boil water to make tea. These are the folks that are saddled with the responsibility of running the country. How can someone that cannot take care of himself be able to take care of a country? That is why Nigeria is messed up. We need to bring in more women into government. Those girls who you say are taught values and probity are the ones doing runs in our universities and luring other girls into ashawo abroad. They are the same grown women who take petty bribes from the politicians to either stay home or vote for useless cretins who squander public funds. The same foolish women who bleach their own skin and think that it makes them look good. They think their weave is attractive and not retarded. They make up the majority of the foolish congregants that enrich the numerous pastors who spew forth nonsense every Sunday and take a sizable chunk of money from impoverished communities throughout this country. They also drag their own children to these houses of religious fraud so that they might also be inoculated against reason. They are the ones who are the first teachers of all the crooks and imbeciles who have bespoiled this country. How do you then conclude that they are 'responsible' people? |

henryobinna: why do you hate people who voted for trump? why do you hate people who want brexit?
do you ever consider their concerns.
Look, the world is not a global village and no, the world is not becoming that anytime soon. Humans are tribal and always would want to look out for their own. They want people who felt their pain and are willing to protect them.
I hate this idea that people who voted for trump are bad. you want to make it look like they're the worst set of people on earth, as such should not be given the right to vote. But yourself want the right to vote in who you think is the right person. Talk about double standards.
Stop feeling you're intellectually superior to people who vote i people you don't like. First thing you should look at and consider is their concerns and what these people they're voting for are willing to do about that.
These trump voters are as good as you(anybody can go here) and they're as bad as you. You're not very much different. They might be better contributors to the society than yourself.
Lastly, they're not voting stupidly. They're voting for those who will protect them, their rights and their concerns. Always let that sink. The UK is a small island that got by in the previous centuries by pilfering from countries in the global south. They no longer have the scope/ability to do such. Their major trading partners are their European neighbors. What kind of arrangement do they think they are going to negotiate by trying to go it alone? And you can't tell me with a straight face that Trump isn't a bumbling, corrupt slowpoke. Hillary isn't perfect (and probably shouldn't have run) but Trump is without doubt significantly worse. |

kokomilala: Lies! Democracy is not entirely alien to Africans.Long before the whites came Africa-at least some parts of Africa had been practising democracy. The Igbo clan system and the Yoruba political structure. Democracy is innate in every mortal. It simply means equal participation by representation. It was not invented by the whites. They only mdernised it. Yes, in parts of the south south there were elected 'kings', essentially presidents and rule by consensus. It was never a case of hereditary rule as in most of Europa. But it was not universal suffrage. I don't think that works anywhere. You give the average man a vote and they will vote stupidly. See America with Trump, the UK with Brexit and Brasil with Bolsonaro. |

foolbuster: I have always maintained that democracy does not work in Africa. Africans are simply too complicated for such a simple system as democracy. Complicated? Or pig headed? It stems from the peculiar manner in which many Africans manage their households and spreads to everything else. If you use economic and physical violence and brutality to raise your children why would reason and logic work in other areas later in life? |
