Politics › Re: Read Reuben Abati's Article On The Niger Delta Avengers by modath(f):
No country can be successfully run on a short-term basis and through the assignment of tokens to aggrieved parties within the union.
Our people make jokes about America's stance never to negotiate with terrorists (keep any argument, blowing up pipeline is economic terrorism as is BH)... laugh they can but deep inside everyone's minds, we all know people who take up arms against others never do for altruistic or noble reasons.

It is a temporary fix, it's like putting band aid on a festering gangrene sore, it will look pretty for a while & fool the casual onlooker but the damage will keep eating deeper till the band aid itself gets soaked and the sore completely breaks down..

Anyway it's viewed, it is tantamount to blackmail & blackmailers can never be appeased they'd always want more..

The only way to quell the genuine inhabitants of ND agitation (not the ones who have hijacked a common course for political expediency and personal gratification) is to ensure that the people directly feel the impact of good governance, no more empowering warlords who won't allow a trickle down effect...

Even under President Jonathan, there were protests about the distribution of amnesty largesse, and disagreements among the former militants, who practically relocated to Abuja to take advantage of their brother’s ascendancy. The quarrel was all about who got what and it was only a matter of time, before those who felt short-changed would stage their own drama, which they have now started, in the hope that they may be luckier this time around and get their own share of appeasement.

It's Urgent Please

I had my guy (Mofe) in October 2015 via CS....I adhered to all instructions given by my doctor in respect to treating the operation cite, the cite closed up neatly within 6wks and all was well save for minor pains around the cite which I thought would go with time....Fast forward to March 2016, I started feeling sharp pains around the cite but no opening of any kind when I checked, I ran to the hospital and was sent to do a pelvic scan, result showed nothing to worry about, doctor said I should relax....The pain is back again and this time very unbearable. I feel pepperish kind of sensation around the cite like my insides is ripping open yet no visible tear on the outside..

Am confused and scared.....Anyone with a similar experience should please help me. I can't afford to break down now.

IT IS NOT NORMAL.

Sorry for yelling but that is the severity of what you described, unless you have a low pain threshold...

The pains that radiates around the scar site are ghost, not painful, just a slight feeling of discomfort & occasional "peppery" sensation if skin rubs on skin... any kind of major pain is not normal.... seek an experienced gynae's opinion.

Also check for appendicitis and adhesion of any kind.

Bros I don't blow hot air cos I like the sound of my own voice... I'm sentimental like all red blooded human but I talk to real life people and not just regurgitated opinions..

Atiku has no political stock, he can't command loyalty that isn't gotten with cash, and there is only far that can get any politician to... I don't know if it's the criss crossing back & forth or Obasanjo cutting him down to size in '03/07 or the general known but hardly referenced misgiving about corrupt practices!!

Have you put into cognizance that his PDM platform he couldn't even leverage at the formation of APC? People pretend like he didn't float a party at one time, he had to jump that ship when he found out no one was ready to join him...

I have an acquaintance from Adamawa who said he's always amazed when people attribute anything other than being a money bag to him.....

Kwankwanso didn't spend a quarter of Atiku's primary largesse and came 2nd, I believe that should serve as a Pointer...

I repeat, 2018 is the time, Now? We are all shooting and winking in the dark!!

Bejeiodus ,

I want vibrant opposition and i want Bubu gone if he can't deliver the goods cos you can choose to believe me or not, the north though may be feeling the economic heat, the politicization of the killer herdsmen and pipeline vandalism is being viewed as southerners trying to sabotage their guy... I was at the market yesterday and in my usual way tried to complain about the state of the economy so i could feel their pulse....

Not only was i assured that tomato price will drop back down in June (dry season variety will be out then) , i was also "gently admonished" by the veggies seller that i can't be complaining when the price of crude is trading low... I know their stand but I'm still surprised when i see the unwavering loyalty.... It's only God given..

Two things I'm sure of;

1. We won't know which direction we are going till early 2018 & how the economic realities pan out then..

2. Kwankwanso & Atiku won't prevent a north landslide & SW& NC will always vote anyway that will favour them politically and economically... Blind sentiments & Vengeance won't happen for both regions...

Who told you the factions cannot coalesce? Talks are being held which hopefully will lead to a better PDP.
I know you fervently wish for the extinction of the PDP but it won't happen.
The PDP remains the biggest opposition party in the country and a potent threat to your beloved party--the APC.
The PDP will rise to its once enviable height again and it will shock all doomsayers.
PDP live or dead don't make much difference, too many giant egos, unbridled greed and lack of clear goals are the main issues bedeviling the party, until they find a way to manage those vices, then they can attack "doomsayers"

Let's watch the course of PDP's many captains trying to stir one ship and see where it will berth....

I watched Ibrahim Mantu and Tunde Adeniran on Focus Nigeria, any talks that doesn't center around giving PDP to the "old members" to manage is an exercise in futility.. & are the governors ready to relinquish control and face their primary business of managing their states?

BTW, How and why did they allow Fayose to railroad them into making so many gaffes?

Anything is possible but one is still left wondering the kind of dangerous game PDP is playing.... The seat according to PDP constitution won't even be vacant till 2018..

One thing is sure, not one of the names you listed can get even delegates votes let alone the main seat...

Bejeiodus ,

Atiku or Kwankwaso are more of mythical symbols than their actual prowess, I used to believe Kwankwanso was so "big" , it's the power tussle between him and Ganduje that taught me a thing or two.... Ganduje's mere allegation (political antics i believe) that Kwankwanso was working against Buhari in Abuja, dropped his Kwankwansiyya stock like you wouldn't believe, bear in mind that his 2011 campaign posters carried Buhari's CPC image, which goes to show that part of his mystic has been his Buhari alignment, just like Yuguda, who is now claiming PDP is evil....

Atiku is more social media and southern politician, even in his north east, his featherweight status is indubitable...

I know better than to make absolute statements but 99% sure neither of these people will go far if their movement is in opposition to Buhari, especially in the NORTH.. #fact..

Politics › Re: How I Was Betrayed At Pdp’s National Convention In Port Harcourt —sheriff by modath(f):
The crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party is far from over, with Ali Modu Sheriff claiming he remained the national chairman of the party, despite being sacked by a national convention.

Mr. Sheriff was sacked at the PDP convention held on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and the National Executive Committee which he headed, replaced with a caretaker committee.

Inuwa Bwala, the spokesperson for Mr. Sheriff, told PREMIUM TIMES around 8.41pm on Saturday that Mr. Sheriff remained opposed to what happened at the Port Harcourt convention, since he had announced its suspension after consulting with members of the National Working Committee of the party.

“Immediately the chairman (Sheriff) received another court injunction, he called a meeting of the National Working Committee and told them that it wasn’t safe to continue with the convention of the party, especially since the court had forbidden elections virtually into all the offices,” Mr. Bwala said.

“He announced the suspension of the convention at a press briefing, only for some people to go behind and claim that there was convention.

“There was no organ of the party that was represented at the convention.

“The convention was cancelled, and it remains cancelled until such a time the matters in court are resolved, for us to convene another national convention.”

Mr. Bwala said Mr. Sheriff remained the national chairman of the PDP, going by the pronouncement of the court.

“The court had said the office of the chairman would become vacant only in 2018, and that is parts of the reasons we shelved the convention,” said Mr. Bwala.

When asked why the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, and the Senate Minority Leader, Godwill Akpabio, parted ways with Mr. Sheriff, Mr. Bwala responded, “Some of them wanted to go on with the convention even with the subsisting court orders, and Sheriff said no. And that was their point of departure.”

Mr. Bwala said Mr. Sheriff felt betrayed in Port Harcourt.

“Naturally, you will feel betrayed if you are working with some people, only for them to go behind you to work against what you all agreed to do.”

The motion to sack Mr. Sheriff was moved at the convention by Mr. Akpabio, at the Port Harcourt Civic Centre.

In his motion, Mr. Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, asked the convention to approve the appointment of a committee to manage the affairs of the PDP for a period not exceeding 90 days.
, went up till about 6pm.

...........

As the convention drew to a close around 6 pm, delegates hurried out of the venue even before the national anthem was sang, and the idle ballot boxes, beautifully designed, stood out as a reminded that the biggest opposition party in Africa still had a major inconclusive business at hand.
