But as a Christian is paying homage to the dead or visiting the graveside of a dead loved one or friend permitted in the scriptures? Isn't this some kind of pagan tradition?
Is appalling how we Africans and Christians copy everything from the whites. Really appalling. Rubbish!! @Uprightness2 what do you think? |

Politics › Re: Rate Your State Governor From 1-10 And Give Reasons by Mode4: 11:00am On Sep 11, 2021 |
DissTroyer: State: Akwa Ibom
Governor: Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel
Sector Ratings:
Health : 4/10
Asides renovating primary health centers in underserved communities, these centers are peopled with professionals who are more concerned about party loyalty and propaganda than actually serving the people.
We did undertake a study and the regularity of health workers in places outside the main cities of Uyo, Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Oron and Ikot Abasi is poor of the 31 LGAs. Measures should be put in place to ensure devotion to work by these health workers is paramount.
Security: 6/10
Since 2010, Akwa Ibom has relatively been the most peaceful state in Nigeria, with Uyo undoubtedly the most peaceful city in the country. While Uyo is safe and has been so even since the time of Akpabio, that peace and safety should be spread to the suburbs and inner communities. Ikot Ekpene city has been almost ridded of clashes. Eket is relatively peaceful.
Infrastructure : 4/10 The populace expected more from this government and while he is being praised in the media, it's because he seems to be one of the best amongst governors who are generally incompetent.
Akwa Ibom earns a lot but the governor spends most of these on vainglorious projects like the International Worship Center, the 21-Storey Smart Skyscraper and others.
He's tried to maintain some of the road projects begun by Akpabio but the projects aren't commensurate with the huge earnings by the state government.
In 2019 alone, Akwa Ibom state government earned about $443 million. For a state of 6 million people, if half was properly utilized, we'd be high up.
Human capital development: 3/10 The programmes initiated by government have mostly be politicised. I'd commend that most of the projects have been ICT-driven but being headed by politicians rubbishes everything and the aims - lofty as they might be - are derailed.
Education : 3/10
Agriculture: 5/10
Sports : 7/10 He's invested a lot in sport development, especially football. Akwa United, Ibom Starlets, Dakkada United and others in the state and now at the very top of football in the country.
But he's more focused on football and neglecting track sports.
I'm planning a bigger article for publication at some later date so I'd save the details.
Entertainment: 3/10 Entertainment in Nigeria has never been spurred by government so that's that.
Social services: 6/10 Rape, abuse and other such vices form a very key part of his administration.
He's declared a zero tolerance on cultism and many of these criminals have gone underground. See as you carry dis matter for head. All these long note only for one person? Go and look for job and leave Udom alone. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Why Was I Not Picked For This Job? by Mode4(op): 3:31pm On Aug 20, 2021 |
Please I need a candid explanation for this, if you have any. I will try to be brief as much as possible. So last two months I was invited for an interview in a new school that is about to begin by septamber, apparently a branch of one of the top missionary secondary schools in Nigeria. We were 22 in number that appeared for interview on that fateful day. The interview was for TWO subject teacher positions. I was interviewed for one of the subjects. We all wrote a written test for one hour. At the end, according to them; Six persons emerged highest scorers. I was among the six persons. I.e, Three persons for EACH of the two subjects. We were then subjected to an oral interview and micro teaching which lasted for about 20mins for each person. Well, I was the first. answered most of the questions that were thrown at me. I left feeling very satisfied. Just like you would write an exam and leave the hall feeling very good because you know you wrote well, that was how I felt that day. Well, after the interview we exchanged contacts and I and the other guys have been communicating ever since. Till now no news from the HR team that interviewed us. And it's 2months already. Well, the HR number was in the mail he sent to me for interview, So today I decided to call the HR. I was shocked to hear that the position we were interviewed for has been filled. I am wondering? What really happened? Why didn't they pick from amongst the six of us Just why? I'm just being curious! |
Education › Why Are Most Phd Researches In Nigeria Not Solving Any Real Life Problem? by Mode4(op): 8:55pm On Aug 19, 2021 |
If your PhD didn't solve a real life problem, It's nothing but another fancy degree added to the ones you previously acquired. But to be honest that is what a PhD is supposed to do—solve a real life problem. A PhD research is supposed to be a groundbreaking research. Something that will provide answers to a key societal problem. Scholars, especially, shouldn't only spend years of doing research just to publish it in a random academic journal and then earn the title that comes with it. Research should be novel and highly valuable, contributing immensely to the needs of humanity. In Nigeria, we seem to have our way around everything. I mean we cut corners even at PhD level—the highest level of education, quite sad. PhD students cheat in exam, manipulate their research result; Gather data from already published sources and bribe their way through the system. A friend told me today about a woman, a top politician who was only told to take a bow and walk away when it was time to defend her thesis. She didn't defend her thesis as stipulated all because she has the money and power to maneuver her way. Nigeria which way |

So who exactly is doing the search if not hypocrites who come out in the day time to form HolyHoly.
Let us assume that in your moral code it is wrong . Is that the worst thing a human being can do and how is it your business except on some level you have those tendencies inside you and decide to punish another person for what is in you that you struggle with.
