Don't see anything wrong with it. Why would he need hubby's permission to get me a car in the first place? |
Coccoh:Today is 29th for us. I realized there is a day's difference between some countries. I am not sure why though. |

Lust for Leadership by Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-Munajjid is a great book! https://almunajjid.com/8515 |
Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: “Something which proves that people may be ignorant of their own condition and not feel it, is that many people may have a hidden desire for leadership but are insensible to it. The person may be sincere in his worship but not aware of his own faults. Many scholars have discussed this topic, and it has been named the hidden desire. From Sheikh Ibn Qayyim Az-Zuhud |
Adefiery05:Okay then. May Allah make it easy for her. |
Adefiery05:Did they talk more about the treatment? What they intended to do- maybe type of medication or anything. What about her inability to walk? Did the doctor mention the cause of that? Did the doctor also talk about the cause of her back pain? |
Sister, How is her condition today? Can you tell us more about her diagnosis? What exactly is wrong with her? How are the doctors intending to treat it? How much do yo need in total? Was the medical report from the same hospital she was diagonised and is currently being treated? |
....... That is the only report the doctor gave? May Allah have mercy on her and ease her pain. Ameen. |

Apologies for the multiple posts but There is a verse of the Qur'an I remember hearing the tafsir but I don't remember the verse (I haven't memorized the surah). But the tafsir or understanding of the verse is that when one continuously sins without repenting then Allah will leave him and the person will be left without guidance. This aren't the exact words but I don't remember the exact words and I don't want to say something I am not sure of. I am not sure but if one one knows the ayat and surah....please mention it. I don't remember where I heard it. |
Gotten from Sheikh Assim Alhakeem's twitter One of the most valuable things is brotherhood! A real brother is the one you look for when you are in trouble or in need of advice. A real brother is the one who helps you get closer to Allah and fills your heart with the love of the Quran and sunnah. Nowadays, your chances of finding a sincere brother is lesser than catching a leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! Therefore, respect the brothers you have and overlook their mistakes. Allah will bless your brotherhood and reward you for it. This is so true so when you find a real friend hold on to them. |

Imam Bukhari narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Rasulullah (peace and blessing be upon him) said “When a person says ameen the angels also say Ameen and if his Ameen coincides with the Ameen of the angels his previous sins will be forgiven” (Sahih Al Bukahri Hadeeth No.781). I assumed you meant Amin after surah fathia |
It is reported that ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd – Allāh be pleased with him – said: Do not be hasty in praising people or blaming them, for perhaps what pleases you from a person today will displease you tomorrow, and perhaps what displeases you today, will please you tomorrow. Indeed, people change. It is Allāh who forgives the sins. And Allāh is more merciful to his servant the day he meets him than a mother who lays out a bed for her child in an empty patch of land and feels [the ground]: if there is a risk of being stung, it will be her instead of him (her child), and if there is a risk of being pricked by a thorn, it will be her instead of him. Al-Bayhaqī, Shuʿab Al-Īmān article 6177, and others. |
It is reported that a man came to ʿAlī – Allāh be pleased with him – and asked, What do you think about a man who committed a sin? He replied, He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him. [The man] said, He did that, but then sinned again? [ʿAlī] said, He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him. The man again said, He did that, but returned to sin. [ʿAlī] said, He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him. The man said for the fourth time, He did, but then sinned again. ʿAlī then said, Until when? Then he said, He must seek Allāh’s forgiveness and repent to Him; and not give up until it is Shayṭān who is defeated [overcome]. Hunād b. Al-Sarī, Kitāb Al-Zuhd article 910 |
olasaad:Salam alaykum Q: "I would like an explanation of the hadeeth, “Whoever dies owing fasts, his heir should fast on his behalf.” ...... " A:It says in ‘Awn al-Ma’bood (7/26): The scholars are unanimously agreed that if a person does not fast because of sickness or travelling then he does not have the opportunity to make them up until he dies, there is no sin on him and food does not have to be given to the poor on his behalf, except that Qataadah said that food should be given to the poor on his behalf, and that was also narrated from Tawoos. End quote. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Majmoo’ al-Fataawa (19/what is makrooh and mustahabb and the ruling on making up missed fasts): If a person does not fast in Ramadaan because of sickness, then dies before he is able to make up the fasts, the matter is straightforward, praise be to Allaah, based on the texts, the reports and the opinions of the scholars. With regard to the texts, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days” [al-Baqarah 2:184]. Allaah enjoins fasting an equal number of other days, but if a person dies before that then he has died before the time when it becomes obligatory. This is similar to the case of someone died before Ramadaan begins, so food does not have to be given to the poor on his behalf for the next Ramadaan, even if he died shortly before it began. Moreover, so long as this sick person is still sick, he does not have to fast, and if he dies without recovering, then he has died before fasting became obligatory for him, so food does not have to be given to the poor on his behalf, because giving food to the poor is an alternative to fasting, and if he does not have to fast then he does not have to do the alternative. This evidence from the Qur’aan indicates that if he is not able to fast, then nothing is required of him. With regard to the Sunnah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever dies owing fasts, his heir should fast on his behalf.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1952) and Muslim (1147). The meaning of the hadeeth is clear: if a person dies owing no fasts, then fasts should not be observed on his behalf. From the above it is known that if a sick person remains sick, he does not have to fast or make up the fasts so long as his sickness lasts. https://islamqa.info/en/81030 I removed part of the question and answer I thought was unnecessary in order not to lengthen the post. Ssthorm:I feel you. I have been recently thinking about this for a while now. In the hospital, you get male patients and sometime are alone with them. Sometimes, they ask for your number and things like this. I am not sure how things work in Nigeria but hospitals can try balancing their the ratio of male health workers with their female counterpart. For example I was in a male unit and 95% of the nurses were males. In the female units, there aren't any male staffs allowed in at all- the entire staffs were female- security, cleaners etc. Similar methods can be implemented in Nigeria. It's not about the job being exclusively for women but the interaction with the opposite gender. For example teaching isn't exclusive to any gender. A woman can teach in an all girls school rather than at an all boys school. The same applies when working in a hospital but we don't always have the choice to decide who we work with. I am not sure I completely understood your last point but the realtionship between a doc and a patient is professional. |
Ssthorm:A male patient should see a male doctor and a female patient should see a female doctor. Seeing a doctor of the opposite gender should be the last option and if there is no available male doctor then it is okay. |
Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported: When the ditch was dug, I saw Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) feeling very hungry. I came to my wife and said to her: Is there anything with you? I have seen Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) feeling extremely hungry. She brought out a bag of provisions which contained a sa', of barley. We had also with us a lamb. I slaughtered it. She ground the flour. She finished (this work) along with me. I cut it into pieces and put it in the earthen pot and then returned to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (for inviting him). She said: Do not humiliate me in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and those who are with him. When I came to him I whispered to him saying: Allah's Messenger, we have slaughtered a lamb for you and she has ground a sa' of barley which we had with us. So you come along with a group of people with you. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said loudly: O people of the ditch, Jabir has arranged a feast for you, so (come along). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Do not remove your earthen pot from the hearth and do not bake the bread from the kneaded flour until I come. So I came and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came and he was ahead of the people; and I came to my wife and she said (to me): You will be humbled. I said: I did what you had asked me to do. She (his wife) said: I brought out the kneaded flour and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) put some saliva of his in that and blessed It. He then put saliva in the earthen pot and blessed it and then said, call another baker who can bake with you. and bring out the soup from it, but do not remove it from the hearth, and the guests were one thousand. (Jabir said): I take an oath by Allah that all of them ate (the food to their fill) until they left it and went away and our earthen pot was brimming over as before, and so was the case with our flour, or as Dahhak (another narrator) said: It (the flour) was in the same condition and loaves had been prepared from that. *I liked how the wife and husband talked to each other. |
