So the cost of production is higher than the selling price. APC should keep on with their lies on gulliable Nigerians.
Stupid lies there has been some reduction but 78 USD per barrel cost oil never happened |

obailala: I would have supported scrapping of the legislature since 2003; that was how long ago I realised the NASS was just a useless gathering of rogues whose primary objective is to feed themselves fat and serve as a clog in the wheel of progress whenever their lootocratic desires are not met...
As offensive as it may sound, Nigeria (and many other developing countries) aren't mature enough for democratic rule, we need to have strong moral systems in place before we think of democracy. Failure to do so is what gives you a bunch of rogues who autocratically determine exactly how much they are to be paid; no wonder one of the poorest countries in the world also has the highest paid legislators in the world.
In all honesty, that NASS building deserves a MOAB bomb. Maybe if they are scrapped, Nigeria can think of a better alternative, maybe even a part-time parliament where the members are nothing but volunteers who wouldn't have any access to government funds. we should then scrap civil service, executive, judiciary etc. Corruption pervades every facet of Nigeria. I agree we need string moral systems (and values) and of course we need to make government unattractive. this is not limited to the legislature. |

Unfortunately, millions of emotionally battered masses have already been successfully brainwashed by the political opportunists.... dont be short sighted or let your bias becloud you. There is a reason why there are three arms of government. if you scrap the legislature, you would easily have a dictatorship. to put this in perspective, ask yourself if you would have supported scrapping of the legislature during the Jonathan years. |

Education › Re: UK Universities With The Highest First Cass Degrees by monex(m): 9:42pm On Jul 27, 2017 |
Statsocial: When you are making comparisons between Covenant and OAU let's put in remembrance that the classification of degree should actually represent the knowledge base of each students. what is the point of comparing an OAU's 2:1 with that of CU when most likely the 2:1 from OAU may not know how to handle or operate a particular facility which a 3rd class from CU might be able to do.
So the most important thing is not the comparative value of these degrees but the knowledge value each student has.
Admittedly, there are 2:1 students from public universities who would make First class in CU because of the conducive environment and smaller class size but that is an issue we should take up with the Government. But the problem here is that ppl are saying the private universities are the problem for graduating 'many' first class graduates but the truth is the public universities are the ones that should step up and award people their rightful degree class. the bolded was what i meant by the assumption in my last paragraph. |

Statsocial: Tell them o. I am waiting for someone to say OAU is better than imperial college because oau produces a very lower percentage of first class. Many Nigerians should become more informed before blabbing. the argument was never "OAU is better than covenant" ... The argument is that : a 2.1 in covenant is a poor/below-average student in covenant as he is only in the 33rd percentile while a 2.1 in OAU is well above an average student in OAU as he is likely in the 75th percentile so unless you assume that students in covenant are generally more than twice as sharp as students in OAU, the OAU 2.1 student is a better student than the covenant student this is statistics |

Education › Re: 188 Students Bag First Class Honours At Covenant University's 12th Convocation by monex(m): 3:36pm On Jul 22, 2017 |
Stbottle: I seriously fought the urge to reply you, but there are things you need to get straight.
Understand that, the CU environment due to the kind of practices spiritually and otherwise will not give room for groos mis-conduct and mis-behaviours of lecturers. So its not the ill-literate lecturers anymore obeying their lusts for failing students, its is an organised environment where rules are followed by all. Therefore, those ill-literates coming from the public universities cant manifest their stupidity and ignorance.
Also bear that some of the students have fought hard to rid themselves of such mentality, of which they are successful for now. Those that remained in the contraptions they came from are now reduced to meagre lecturers in that same contraption.
So, my fellow citizen, the lecturers in CU that are from public universities are not orderly because they want to, its because they had to. Gradually, the bad blood began to flow out of them. you guys dont get it, the issue is not whether they merit the grades. The issue is that for more than two-thirds in a school to make a first class, then the students have to be extra-ordinarily intelligent (from recruitment approach) or the school needs to use percentile in ranking thier students. how can one make 2.1 as a below average student? in that stats, there are below average students (33.3 - 50 percentile) who made a 2.1 |
Education › Re: 188 Students Bag First Class Honours At Covenant University's 12th Convocation by monex(m): 3:26pm On Jul 22, 2017 |
Statsocial: Before anyone comes to attack CU let's not forget that Unilag produced over 230 first class for this year alone.
And before anyone query the contribution of all these first class degrees to Nigeria pls let us also query the value of UK first classes to Nigeria because at least there are more UK first class recipients in Nigeria than there are those from CU. TheVictorious were u in CU today? Well. the stats are not so encouraging. 67.2% (more than two thirds) of the students had a 1st class or 2.1 it means that a student with a 2.1 is a below average student in the school. You would have to use percentile to differentiate students from that school. 17 percent making a 1st class is equally bad. The rule of thumb for 1st class should be between 5-10%. |
