God1000: Angelina jolie is an upstanding woman with a conscience, the man should not expect her to behave like him.
This Israel-Hamas war has exposed a lot of people, divided friends and families, but I will always say the truth and stand with the oppressed, killing innocent Palestinians under the guise of fighting Hamas is a serious war crime and crime against humanity, how can any sane person support the bombing of hospitals, schools, churches, mosques and refugee camps
Generations of families are being wiped out right in front of our eyes and some religious bigots are rejoicing, Arab leaders are cowards for doing absolutely nothing to help Palestinians.
Those of you insulting other people for calling out Israel should desist from such unholy act
If I will not make heaven for saying the truth, then so be it
I'm withdrawing my support for west as well because I hate double standard and hypocrisy
I lambasted Mr Putin when he invaded Ukraine but I'm beginning to have a change of mind about him
Some of you that idolized Mr Putin then, calling him a hero are now making a U-turn because he's saying the truth against Israel "I lambasted Mr Putin" In all that you wrote, this particular line got my attention. Then I what to ask in Odumeje's voice......Who you? Who be, who born! Where you from?

Police arraign blogger for cyberstalking, defamation
The Nigeria Police Force, National Cybercrime Centre, on Thursday, arraigned a blogger, Mienapoma Saint before a Federal High Court in Abuja, for alleged cyberstalking and defamation of character of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and its leadership.
Saturday PUNCH reports that Saint had alongside other media platforms and blogs published a report alleging that fraudulent activities were being carried out at the PAP.
The NPF-NCCC in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Friday, claimed that Saint, who is associated with Naija Live TV, reportedly disseminated information found to be false and likely to cause a breach of the peace and threats to life.
The NPF-NCCC had arraigned Saint before Justice Emeka Nwite on a three-count charge of alleged cyberstalking and defamation of character of PAP and its leadership.
Saint, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence when the three-count charge was read to him.
Justice Nwite consequently adjourned the matter till December 4 and directed that Saint be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja.
The NPF-NCCC in its statement on Friday, notes that its operatives, upon thorough investigation into the complaint, detained Saint in its custody on October 10, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
The statement reads in part, “In an effort targeted at sanitizing the digital space and protecting its users, Officers of the Nigeria Police Force – National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) have concluded a thorough investigation into a complaint of alleged cyberstalking, defamation of character, acts likely to cause a breach of the peace, and threats to life.
“As a result, one Mienapoma Saint, associated with Naija Live TV, was taken into custody on the 10th of October 2023 in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.
“The suspect had made serious allegations against the Amnesty programme and its leadership, implicating them in various heinous activities. These accusations investigated and found to be false, were originally disseminated through an online blogging site, Naijalivetv.com, and a Facebook account connected to the suspect.
“The arrest which was executed with the utmost professionalism, became necessary after carrying out a discreet investigation and conducting threat assessments on a series of posts linked to the suspects. The inciting and misleading posts were not just maliciously targeted at the program but touches upon sensitive matters that are integral to the unity of the Niger Delta Region and have the potential to disrupt peace and harmony in the Area.” https://punchng.com/police-arraign-blogger-for-cyberstalking-defamation/

Respect Court Judgment On Property Dispute -Lawyer Urges Abachas
The legal representative of Alhaji Adamu Yahaya Maikifi, Barrister Sagir Suleiman Gezawa, has urged Hajiya Maryam Sani Abacha and her son Alhaji Muhammed Sani Abacha to respect the ruling of the Kano State High Court dated 6th June, 2023.
The court upheld that Alhaji Maikifi is the rightful owner of a property located at No 6, Gidado Road, Kano, covered by Certificate of Occupancy No LKN/RES/RC/82/679.
Speaking to journalists, on Friday, Barrister Gezawa said that the Deputy Sheriff of Kano State High Court has executed the court judgment, allowing his client to assume full legal ownership of the property.
He expressed concerns that recently, armed personnel surrounded the house and posted notices claiming that the property did not belong to Alhaji Maikifi, contrary to the court ruling.
Barrister Gezawa cautioned Hajiya Maryam Sani Abacha against disregarding the court judgment and assured that his client would not be intimidated.
He stated that anyone dissatisfied with the court’s decision should seek legal recourse.
He emphasized that Alhaji Maikifi had already assumed ownership of the property following the court verdict.
Furthermore, Barrister Gezawa announced his intention to institute legal action against any person allegedly instructing military personnel to prevent Alhaji Maikifi from accessing his property.
It could be recalled that Justice Usman Na’abba of the Kano State High Court declared Alhaji Adamu Yahaya Maikifi as the rightful owner of the property at No 6A, Gidado Road, Kano, covered by Certificate of Occupancy No. LKN/RES/RC/82/679.
The court granted an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the defendants from trespassing or interfering with Alhaji Maikifi’s peaceful possession of the property.
The court also recognized the validity of the property’s title and the sale agreement between Alhaji Maikifi and the heirs of Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, dismissing the counterclaim of the defendants. https://solacebase.com/respect-court-judgment-on-property-dispute-lawyer-urges-abachas/

Foreign Affairs › Jailbreak: Ex-guinea Junta Leader Recaptured by Morbeta11(op): 12:24am On Nov 05, 2023 |
Jailbreak: Ex-Guinea junta leader recaptured
Guinea’s ex-dictator, Moussa Dadis Camara, has been recaptured and returned to prison on Saturday.
He was recaptured hours after an apparent jailbreak led by a heavily armed commando, the army and his lawyer said.
At least two other former officials on trial alongside Camara over a 2009 massacre during his presidency were taken in the earlier operation that sparked heavy gunfire in the capital Conakry, a minister and lawyers said.
“Captain Moussa Dadis Camara has been found safe and sound and taken back to prison,” an army spokesperson told AFP, without specifying the circumstances of the capture.
One of Camara’s lawyers, Jocamey Haba, told AFP his client was back behind bars.
Justice Minister Alphonse Charles Wright said earlier that at around 0500 GMT “heavily armed men” burst into the prison and “managed to leave with four (prisoners)… notably Captain Moussa Dadis Camara”.
He said the borders had been closed.
It was unclear whether Camara had escaped of his free will.
The army described the operation as an attempt to “sabotage” government reforms and swore its “unwavering commitment” to the current military-led authorities.
A judicial source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the masked and heavily armed soldiers who arrived at Conakry’s central prison declared they “had come to free” Camara.
Inside, the group headed towards his cell, appearing to already know its location, the source said.
Haba told AFP he believed his client had been “kidnapped” and his life was “in danger”.
“He has confidence in the justice of his country, which is why he would never try to escape,” he added, referring to the ongoing trial against Camara.
Wright also said Colonel Moussa Tiegboro Camara – another of the men taken from prison – had since been “recaptured”.
Tiegboro Camara’s lawyer said he had escaped from what he described as his “captors”. https://punchng.com/jailbreak-ex-guinea-junta-leader-recaptured/

Nigerian Government Asked Us To Hands Off After We Conducted Autopsies On 35 Decomposing Bodies Found In Anambra River In 2013 –Ex-Gov, Peter Obi
The former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has stated that the Nigerian Government asked his government to hands off when 35 decomposing bodies were found in the Anambra River in 2013.
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, recently stated that over 80 decomposing corpses, including 20 headless ones, as well as countless skeletons were discovered by security operatives during a raid on the forest around the Lokpanta Cattle Market in the Umunneochi axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
Otti made the revelation on Sunday during the second edition of his monthly media chat in Umuahia, the state capital.
However, Peter Obi who was the state governor between 2007 and 2014 and the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, in a statement via X on Thursday, recalled how he faced a similar situation in Anambra State.
Obi commended Otti for taking a bold step against insecurity in the state, adding that the security of lives and property should be the primary responsibility of any government.
He said, “I read the bone-chilling story coming out of Abia State, where over 80 bodies were reportedly recovered around the cattle market, with about 20 headless decomposing bodies. This level of barbarism and extremely cruel acts only reflects how insecure our environment has been.
“It unearths how insecurity has continued to ravage many parts of the country, taking innocent lives and killing the economy. I thank the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, for taking such a bold step against insecurity in the State. This is highly emulatable.
“I recall facing a similar situation in 2013 as the Governor of Anambra State. I was accompanying President Goodluck Jonathan to an official engagement outside the country when I received the sad report of about 35 decomposing bodies floating on Ezu River, Anambra.
“I had to leave everything to rush back to the State to attend to the situation and ensure that order was restored in the vicinity. Investigation was immediately commenced, with autopsies conducted, before the Federal Government took over the process and asked the State Government to hands off.
"Security of lives and property remains the primary duty of any government and key to any meaningful development we hope to experience as a nation. We must, therefore, prioritise it. I encourage governments at all levels to make more efforts in combating insecurity in the nation.” https://saharareporters.com/2023/11/02/nigerian-government-asked-us-hands-after-we-conducted-autopsies-35-decomposing-bodies#google_vignette

Celebrities › Amaju Pinnick Sues Davido, Obtains Interim Order Against Musician by Morbeta11(op): 10:08pm On Nov 02, 2023 |
Amaju Pinnick sues Davido, obtains interim order against musician
The lawsuits followed altercations between Davido and Mr Pinnick in October after the musician failed to show up for an event he was paid to perform.
The former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has taken legal action against afrobeat musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, accusing the artist of cyberbullying and defamation of character.
Mr Pinnick said Davido made incendiary posts against him on social media in October, and that since then his life and that of his immediate family have been in grave danger and threat of physical bodily harm, injury and attacks.
The lawsuits followed altercations between the artist and Mr Pinnick in October after the musician failed to show up for an event he was paid to perform.
An investigation by PREMIUM TIMES revealed how Davido’s company signed a performance agreement with BrownHill Event Inc, owned by Mr Pinnick, on 30 March 2023, committing the musician to performing in Warri on 6 October.
The contract was signed by the musician’s agent, Soso Soberekon, indicating the singer would perform for at least “55 or 60 minutes at the event.” Victor Wokocha endorsed the agreement for Brownhill, while a certain Cecil Bekederemo signed as a witness.
However, the 30-year-old musician was absent from the Warri event because he fixed another show in Australia (Melbourne) on the same day, 6 October.
After failing to attend the Warri show, Mr Pinnick addressed and apologised to the event attendees in Warri, explaining to them that all contractual obligations and payments to secure the attendance of the artist were met but he still failed to show up.
Not long after, Davido took to the social media handles of Instagram, Snapchat and X (formerly known as Twitter) to post several posts reacting to Mr Pinnick.
In one post on Instagram, Davido said: “If I am returning any money, I will return it to any football charity organisation. In Fact, I will double it. Mr Dream Crusher imagine how many Nigerian footballers have had their dreams crushed because a person wants to live for Ikoyi by force,” he said, allegedly referring to Mr Pinnick, who served as the president of NFF for eight years.
In another post, the musician responded to a video saying, “The man that dropped from the RR is Amaju Pinnick. He was NFF president for just eight years. He was charged for allegedly misappropriating $8.4 million paid by FIFA to NFF. I won’t mention allegations of unpaid allowances by players when he was the president. Let’s play a game.”
Mr Pinnick told a high court that these statements by Davido implied that the “former NFF president is a thief and is only able to live in Ikoyi because he crushed the dreams of several Nigerian footballers.”
“These defamatory publications and posts made by the artist when accorded their ordinary meaning portray me as a person deficient in character and integrity but also imbued with deceit, dishonesty, immoral, and fraudulent in the eyes of the right thinking members of the society,” he added.
The former NFF president went on to say due to the wide influence Davido has on social media, the singer has now subjected him to all forms of “cyberbullying, stalking, and harassment since the defamatory and incendiary posts.”
Mr Pinnick added that the singer posted the statements with the “aim of lowering the esteem of his person in the eyes of ordinary persons and generally bringing him to ridicule, derision and opprobrium.”
Why I wanted Davido to headline Warri Again show
In court documents seen by PREMIUM TIMES, Mr Pinnick told the court that sometime in early 2023, Davido approached him to engage his services for the 19th edition of the “Warri Again” event that was held on 6th October 2023.
Mr Pinnick said he was hesitant to “engage the service of Davido because the musician had disappointed him in 2014 and 2019 editions of the “Warri Again” where the singer didn’t show up to perform after he had been paid for the events and he was compelled to make refunds thereafter.”
The FIFA Council Member said he believed the musician had turned into a “new leaf” so he decided to give him another chance. Mr Pinnick’s company, Brownhill Company Limited, entered into a performance agreement with the artist to perform as the headline artist of the 19th edition of Warri Again.
Mr Pinnick told the court that his company expended humongous resources on print and social media adverts for the event believing Davido would headline the annual show.
“Unfortunately, to the utmost humiliation and detriment of myself and my company, the artist willfully failed, neglected and refused to show up, attend and perform at the 19th edition of Warri Again,” Mr Pinnick said.
Davido, who broke onto the scene in 2011, had said he communicated to the organisers “months ago” that he was not going to be available. The singer added that “it’s a shame” they went ahead to continue promoting the show using his name.
Mr Pinnick told the court that “this statement is entirely false as Davido and his team never communicated or related such information to us.” Mr Pinnick said the singer did not even reply to a reminder letter sent to him on 29 September, a week before the concert.
Instead, he said, the singer posted allegations that made him “suffer and endured severe irreparable reputational damages.”
Against this background, Mr Pinnick asked the court to compel Davido to publish on his “personal social media handles and in two national dailies APOLOGY to him for four consecutive days about the libellous statements about him.”
He also wants the court to restrain Davido or any of his agents from writing any false, malicious and unverified allegations against him.
Court documents show that a federal high court has granted Mr Pinnick an order to serve a writ of summons, statement of claim, and other accompanying processes as well as the Motion of Notice for Interlocutory injunction to the afrobeat singer.
The court also ordered “Davido to refrain from further posting, making and publishing any defamatory, derogatory, calumnious, and incendiary statement, story allegation and narrative about or against Mr Pinnick pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.”
The motion on notice is fixed for 23 November at a high court in Delta State.
Brownhill Event sued Davido Meanwhile, Mr Pinnick’s event centre, Brownhill, has also sued Davido for allegedly breaching the contract agreement.
The group said the musician had disappointed them in the 2014 and 2019 editions of the “Warri Again” where the singer did not show up to perform after he had been paid for the events and he was compelled to do a refund of payments he collected for both events.
For this reason and others, the group said, Davido has been in the “habit of reneging on contracts and not showing up and he is also known to cyberbully, harass, and threaten those who call him out on his excesses or when he reneges on paid engagements.”
Brownhill Event Centre is now asking the court to grant an order directing Davido to refund the N70 million paid to him on 6th April for the performance at the 19th edition of the Warri Again event held on 6th October.
They are also requesting a court order directing Davido to refund $18,000 paid to charter the private jet that was to personally convey the artist and his team to Warri for the 19th edition of the Warri Again event.
Also, the company wants an order compelling Davido to tender a public apology on all his social media handles and in two National Daily Newspapers for four consecutive days to the organisation and attendees of the Warri Again programme.
The firm asked the court to order Davido to give them N2 billion as “General Damages” for breach of the performance agreement entered between the artist and the company. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/639153-amaju-pinnick-sues-davido-obtains-interim-order-against-musician.html
