So Nigeria have finally happen to me, I thought if I save a little to the 5M I have, it would be able to leave this country by next year.

But right now, it is impossible, I saw on Twitter how a lady was begging money for flight ticket which was about 2.2M, just flight ticket o.

Months ago, a relative of mine told me someone is looking for a dependent and he will connect me to the person, he said the payment was 4M and I was not going to pay much after that and I will stay with the person in the UK before I settle on my own but I was forming big girl saying I will do my process by myself.

Now look, dollar have increased, the money is now worthless, anyway when there is life, there is hope.

Nairaland please help me think of a business to start with 2M, I can't just leave the money in the bank to keep on depreciating.

Justice Eberechi Wike Advocates Amputation For Sex Offenders

Justice Wike insisted that the current punishment isn’t drastic enough.


A judge of the Rivers State High Court, Eberechi Wike, has advocated the amputation of people found guilty of defiling minors.

Justice Wike, who is the wife of the immediate past Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, stated this on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 2nd National Conference of Family Court Judges, Magistrates, and other Family Court Practitioners in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

She insisted that the current punishment isn’t drastic enough, adding that the move will deter sexual offenders from molesting minors.

According to the judge, society should step up punishments for people who defile children beyond life imprisonment or a 14-year jail term.

“We should do much more. I think we should do something that will be really drastic, that will make them think twice before they do that,” she said.

“I cannot think of anything better than having legislation that whatever it is that whatever part of your body you use on a child while defiling the child, that part should be cut off. If it is your finger, if it is your mouth, if it is your private part.

“I think men will take it more seriously when you come up with such legislation. I hope a man in the House of Reps or Senate sponsors a bill like that.”

The event which is themed ‘Repositioning Child Justice Administration In Nigeria’ is seeking to find ways of protecting the rights of children in the country.

The annual conference started from Monday, October 23 and will end on Thursday, October 26 and the hope is that the brainstorming sessions will produce progressive methodologies for child rights protection.

Lagos launches manhunt for motorist who threw waste from car

All LASTMA officials are hereby notified to flag her car

The Lagos State Waste Management Authority has launched a manhunt for the driver of a car with number plate FST 670 YF, who allegedly threw waste from the window of her car onto the road.

The agency said in a statement via X on Tuesday that the incident occurred at Adeniyi Jones junction inwards Aromire, in the Ikeja area of the state.

The agency said that efforts to make the yet-to-be-identified woman pick up the waste proved abortive because she drove off.

“A woman driving a yellow car, with number plate FST 670 YF, was sighted this morning at Adeniyi Jones junction inwards Aromire, dropping waste from her car. All efforts to make her pick up the waste proved abortive, as she drove off,” the statement reads.

Following the development, officials of the state’s traffic agency, LASTMA, have been notified to flag her car down anywhere she is seen.

“She will be arrested and prosecuted according to environmental laws of the state,” the statement continued.

“We cannot consolidate on the efforts to make the environment cleaner and better when a few individuals are bent on derailing the government’s efforts.”

Lagos police nab blacksmiths making guns for criminals


The Lagos State Police Command said it raided the factory of a blacksmith where illegal firearms were being fabricated for criminals.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on Tuesday while parading suspected criminals at the command headquarters in Ikeja.

“On September 11, 2023, around 4pm, based on actionable intelligence on a blacksmith who fabricated firearms for onward sales to criminals around Idata Village of Ibeju-Lekki, operatives of the command busted the factory and arrested one Musiliu Gbenga, 21, and Owolabi Azeez, 22.

“The following items were recovered from the factory: three single-barrel locally-made pistols, one double-barrel locally-made gun, one single-barrel locally-made gun, two single-barrel locally-made long guns, 10 expended cartridges, 12 long pipes, two drilling machines, one gas cylinder, one vehicle and other fabricated tools,” Hundeyin said.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, also “calls on all persons having illegal possession of arms and ammunition to come forward and submit them without getting arrested or prosecuted.”

According to the command, this is in line with the directive of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, that all commands mop up arms and ammunition in the hands of non-state actors within their respective jurisdictions.

Hundeyin disclosed that other suspects were arrested for various crimes such as robbery, cultism, and impersonation of men of the armed forces. Thirty-two suspects were arrested in total.
