Do you really know the meaning of circumstantial evidence? Do you just say things for the sake of it?

He pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft and computer fraud related to his online sale of a gun he did not have, though he collected money from the would-be buyer, is that circumstantial?

The US security agencies focuses on pro-active measures and not re-active, they prevent a potential crime and not running around like headless chicken after the damage has been done like what we are seeing in Nigeria now.

Your race card argument is just nonsense, it doesn't wash any more.
Do you live in the US? Do you know that the US police is not allowed to "proactively" or "preemptively" arrest anyone without reasonable cause? And that the standards are even stricter, generally, for criminal convictions? Do you realize that in the US, once you have a criminal record, your life is pretty much over and you can't find a decent job anywhere? You don't sound like you really know what you're talking about. I officially give up.

Eh ehn, is that so.
I was a fan when we were killing everybody back then, as y'all know, I love nothing more than winning. Now we just suck, hence the "I'm not a gators fan". I'm forcefully a Gator tho.

Since you know I'm a gator, I find that a bit unfair. Make it fair by telling me your own mascot.

Nawa o. Truthfully, I havent even tried it yet. Just an innocent passerby.
I attended one of the biggest geek non-technology schools in the country. I don't think I ever attended a single game (of anything) while I was there and I think I saw our mascot just once when it ran across the Quad. LOL

Perhaps at one time it was "rarely" but not these days. There are things you simple mustn't write (or speak). What was written on the paper falls under "Terrorist Threat". Here's an excerpt of what constitutes a TT:
What Exactly Does "Making a Terrorist Threat" Mean?
The crime of "making a terrorist threat" is a recent creation enacted at both the state and federal levels after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.  It is a very general law that can be used to prosecute terrorists, but has been used far more often to prosecute situations involving domestic violence, hate crimes, bomb threats, and school violence.  Indeed, in many states, the term "terrorist" has been amended to mean simply "criminal."
Although the exact definition varies from state to state, generally one makes a terrorist threat if one threatens to commit a violent crime for the purpose of terrorizing another or of causing public panic.  Some states laws are very narrow, meaning the threat must be very specific and direct, while other states adapt a looser approach, allowing even negligently made threats to be prosecutable.  http://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/making-a-terrorist-threat.html

It’s true you can write any crazy thoughts to the ghosts in your head, but only after you’ve been legally declared mentally ill! It’s not uncommon for people who’ve gotten into trouble to use that defense. But the person is put through a barrage of psychiatric testing, hoping they don’t pass! It may not lessen the sentence but instead of prison the person will be sent to a hospital to serve their time.

Wow! George Bush has cost the US much more than I had previously thought! I doubt this guy will pass a single psychiatric test though! He probably would have plead insanity if he had better representation. Fact of the matter is, he didn't threaten anybody. He just wrote nonsense in a book.

I dont even know you neither have I even bothered to entertain your post, yet you've categorized me under a class.

Or is this just an opportunity to "fight", I mean, debate with Ileke-IdI? Just wondering since ileke-idi never made a post to suggest that she is in support of or against any opinion on this thread.

Actually you have a point; I looked up more info on the case. Perhaps there is more to the case than was released to the public? Whether there was "much of a case" is now irrelevant because he pleaded guilty. The End. The problem was putting something like that in writing. Anything in writing is considered evidence. The youth don't seem to understand e.g. Facebook & Twitter that it's NEVER a good idea to put something in writing that has the potential to incriminate you. Perhaps if he'd had a better lawyer, like Johnny Cochran, he would be a free man.
But that's the issue,  putting anything in writing rarely constitutes a crime in the US. What typically happens in situations that involve poor blacks or foreigners in the US is that they give up their constitutional rights to a fair trial because of inept representation and end up pleading guilty to crimes that don't even exist. America is the land of freedom of expression! You can write whatever you like to the many ghosts and spirits in your head and it would not constitute a crime in most cases. He was just a victim of poverty and mental instability. The poor thing!

Nope, even if he was white it would have gone down the same way. Terrorist threats are taken seriously, so that old excuse of being black doesn't carry much weight in this case. If it were me I would have blamed it on mental illness.
What threat? To who? Threat to the ghosts hiding inside his head? Or to the ninjas that go around reading notes hiding in abandoned cars? Who exactly was he threatening? Did he present the note to anybody? Until we can answer these fundamental questions, I don't think there is much of a case here.

At the end of the day, evolution does a pretty good job of weeding out the idiots. A girl that's foolish enough to marry a guy only because of his height deserves whatever she gets. Most girls are smarter than that. Height is probably #3 or #4 on the list (as long as he isn't a midget). Who wants to marry a tall monster that'll beat her to death? LOL

Did you also read this?: . . .

Oduwole was attending the Illinois school's 13,000-student Edwardsville campus, northeast of St. Louis, when campus police found a piece of paper in his abandoned car, which they had impounded and was out of gas. The writing demanded payment to a PayPal account, threatening "if this account doesn't reach $50,000 in the next 7 days then a murderous rampage similar to the VT shooting will occur at another highly populated university. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!". . . .

And

Oduwole pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft and computer fraud related to his online sale of a gun he did not have, though he collected money from the would-be buyer. Oduwole was sentenced to 2 1/2 years of probation on those charges, which will be served with the prison time.
You're still missing the point. All of these are just circumstantial evidence and have nothing to do with the charge of making terrorist threats. Who exactly did he present the threat to? Who came forward to complain? This is just a racist witch hunt. The case will go nowhere on appeal.

While l will crave leniency for ANY YOUNG PERSON since they are prone to rash behavior, like the judge, l still find it INEXCUSABLE that "many facts" worked against this guy!!

How do you explain an under-Gee having a gun in the hostel? A loaded Gun for that matter! Who does he want to kill or does he need to load the gun, to complete his "Rap lyrics"?

Again, to have ordered for four (4) high calibre weapons, including a Sub-Machine! Jeezuz Christ, how do you explain that?
Give me a good explanation for that one, please! Is tht one also part of his "Rap lyrics"?

Lets assume he got the guns, what he gonna do with them? A student o! shocked shocked

Now, not to talk about the "innocent" scribble found in his car! he even drew attention to a "live event" like the Virginia tech!

And there was MOTIVE in that scribble: Blackmail for money!

Honestly, if l were the judge, l will struggle a lot to set this guy FREE!
And God forbid l do and he ends-up like Abdul Mutallab or the V.tech guy,
how will l feel?

He played with fire, he got burnt! Chikenna shocked shocked

BTW: A lot of Novelist dont write about criminality and then go one to "actualize it" or take "active steps" in the pursuit of it. if they did, it would cross from the realms of Fiction, to that of reality!. Jefrey Archer once did so, and he paid dearly for it!.
I am not sure you're familiar with America's gun laws. Yes, he has a right to own a loaded gun as long as he has a gun license. Americans can't eat their cake and have it too. You can't allow guns and then use gun possession in the privacy of one's home as evidence of a public threat. There was actually nothing "actualized" in this situation. He didn't threaten anybody. He's just a crazy, confused kid that wants to be a thug rapper. Too bad he chose the wrong skin color to play in.

That is my point. Men come in packages. Some guys are short and rich. Others are short and extremely good in bed. Others, still, are short with great character traits. Height alone is rarely the sole determining factor.

This case is a clear miscarriage of justice and the Judge is a fool that will be mocked mercilessly when this goes to trial. The note found in his car is a useless piece of paper until he presents it to somebody or to an institution with the intent of threatening. Someone can't be accused of making threats just because he wrote something on a piece of paper. If that's the case, then a lot of novelists and writers would be in jail!!!! His other crimes are separate and should be considered in isolation. They can only do this to a black man with a foreign sounding name. I am 100% sure if this dude was white, he would have gotten away with probation and probably put on a watch list. America is a country founded on racist people and institutions. This court-ruling is just another piece of evidence demonstrating America's racist DNA.
