CareerRe: Should I Spend N40m On Harvard Business School Mba Or Just Do Business With It? by moremi2008(m): 6:56am On Dec 09, 2011
Hmmmn,  HBS typically admits kids of the Nigerian business elite; to those peeps, N40mm isn't really a big deal. Some take loans (especially because interest rates are pretty low at the moment), others have partial scholarships but I know many that pay cash.
BusinessRe: USTDA Partners Oando Gas & Power On Infrastructure Development by moremi2008(m): 6:50am On Dec 09, 2011
I personally think Oando is just a glorified scam, all its profits and posing is all paid for by fuel subsidies.

@moremi2008
Are you married? If yes, you would have known that it's always better to sit on the fence when it comes to an issue between a woman and her husband. Just give her positive advise and wish the best for her.
Are you insane? Would you let a man treat your own daughter and sister like this? Get out of here with this foolishness.
PoliticsRe: 7 Same-sex Nigerians Demonstrate At Nigerian House In New York by moremi2008(m): 2:30pm On Dec 06, 2011
rhymz:
are you realy sure about the above claims?? Since this bill was passed in the senate, It has become common for closet homosexuals and pro-g'ay activist to easily distract us by saying that is not Nigeria's problem and all that crap. Like corruption is not being condemned by Nigerians or sth, may be we should wait till it becomes an issue, prolly by then it would have been too late. Nigeria has too many problems to add homosexualism and its ills in the pack, there is nothing wrong if we decide to nip it in the bud before they get brazen like it is seen in other country.
Yes. Exactly the same way boko haram, student-prostitution and horrible roads were nipped in the bud! Like homosexual people were knocking on church and mosque doors asking to get married! Like homosexuals sell their own babies for chicken change! Now that you have banned g.a.y marriage, I hope Nigeria stops its slow but sure descent into a mad house.
FamilyRe: My Husband And I Are Not Talking - And I Don't Know What To Do by moremi2008(m): 2:02pm On Dec 06, 2011
Your husband has absolutely no respect or love for you and you shouldn't be trying to bring a child into this horrible marriage. He murders your first child and then continues to desecrate your body?!! Haba! Why are some women so battered and beaten that they become bingo dogs?! Don't you have a father or brother? Or are you an orphan that has never seen an ounce of affection? Why are you putting up with this rubbish? God forbid anyone of my sisters go through this horror.

CareerRe: N1m Monthly Income In Nigeria: Fact Or Fiction? by moremi2008(m): 5:33pm On Dec 04, 2011
Yes, there are many jobs in Nigeria that pay even more than N1mm/month. Just make sure it's a reputable multinational company. The worst that can happen is that you pack your bags and go back after a year. Good luck!

PropertiesRe: Is Real Estate Still A Good Investment In 9ja? by moremi2008(m): 11:47am On Nov 11, 2011
maclatunji:
Are you sure? Prices have been falling since 2008. Yes they are still high in real terms but it is not as bad as you are painting. Even the super-rich are finding it difficult to throw money around these days.

Real Estate is still a good investment in Nigeria if you have realistic expectations on your Return on Investment and the Payback Period. As for specific locations, take a look at central lower-middle class locations. I think places like Mushin, Oshodi/Isolo, top the list.

Alternatively, invest in building a small prototype estate that will quickly get occupied and expand your interests from there, Badagry axis, Mowe Ofada and Ikorodu are still places to seriously consider as an investor for such!
Asset prices in high-brow areas are still unrealistic overpriced. Most of them were built with stolen and VERY patient money. The owners won't reduce prices unless faced with a severe liquidity crunch. Prices on the Lekki axis still have a very long way to fall. VI/Ikoyi are just sepulchers for entombing inflated egos and for extorting terrified expatriates.

Don't be so sure about making decent returns in middle-class/upper-middle class neighborhoods. Landlords are often better off putting their monies in fixed deposits than spending a small fortune in impoverished neighborhoods that can't support good rental income. I know from personal experience. Spending N15mm on a property that only generates N1.6mm p.a. in Nigeria (excl. maintenance costs and agent fees) is NOT a good business proposal in Nigeria's insane interest rate regime. Never again!
PropertiesRe: Is Real Estate Still A Good Investment In 9ja? by moremi2008(m): 10:05am On Nov 11, 2011
Too much money chasing around the few properties in choice neighborhoods. Generally a bad idea to invest in high-brow areas these days - the assets are just grossly over-inflated.
BusinessRe: Does Travelling Abroad Truly Guarantee A Better Future? by moremi2008(m): 3:25pm On Nov 09, 2011
Going abroad does not guarantee you a better future oh. Lots of Nigerians abroad living in disgraceful conditions but hiding it from their folks back home. The only guarantee you get by going abroad is relative security, 24hr electricity and good infrastructure but you'll pay through your nose for it after paying ~35% of your income in taxes. Going abroad only makes sense for Nigerians living in poverty. Don't make the foolish mistake of leaving a good job to face a shaky future abroad. So many Nigerians are shedding bitter tears abroad but can't come back because of shame.

RomanceRe: Prophecy And Relationships by moremi2008(m):
Prophesies are real but you have to test the spirits and tread carefully. Here are a few examples in my own life (this isn't hear-say):

- My neighbour married a man despite the prophesy that he has a short lifespan. She ignored the prophesy because she was in her late thirties. The man died in a car accident on their only child's first birthday.

- My cousin was madly in love with a woman that every man of God that prayed with his parents spoke against. He decided to fast and pray over the weekend about the issue. On the third night, his girlfriend manifested herself physically in his room dressed like a mad woman and holding a huge knife. He called on Jesus and she fled. The girlfriend that had professed undying love for him just the week before never called him again after that weekend. It's like she just disappeared. My cousin is now happily married to another woman.

I can go on and on about prophesy and its role in my life and in the life of my family. Of course, for every genuine prophesy, there are 5 fakes. Be careful out there.
PoliticsRe: Nuclear-powered Electricity A Major Priority In GEJ’s Administration by moremi2008(m): 10:07am On Nov 04, 2011
Given Nigeria's notoriously poor maintenance culture, this is only a quick way to exterminate Nigerians en-masse! Our enemies will rejoice at the news! The Americans will promptly decontaminate the region after the nuclear disaster and secure direct access to the oil. A win-win situation for the world!
