If not justified, their apparent xenophobia is perhaps understandable. Especially given the history of South Africa.
We can understand bent up anger, isolation from other African countries, the cause of bantu education, the fact that they just got back the country 20 years ago

We cannot tolerate Killings of other African nationals in the name of Xenophobia!

yeah no I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I'm literate enough to see what goes on. our government is not the best yes I agree, but alteast we don't come in droves of thousands to take advantage of your country nigeria
their was a new suburb built about 10 years ago not far from my area called parklands. its now called DARKLANDS cos the Nigerians moved in force their setting up drug houses , fraud safe houses and the usual prostitution bizniz.
the place when from being a wonderful modern suburb to a place avoided and synonymous with crime and drugs. burglary s are rampant.
I can give you many examples of nice open suburbs ruined now in cape town. thanks to nigerians.
like I said I have no problems with other Africans, and have Zimbabwean and other etc. friends. but I'm sorry Nigerians are just loud, obnoxious, and want take advantage whenever they can.
and why must you guys open a barber shop on every corner? its become a joke. obviously just fronts for other stuff.
so yes you guys can be the giant of Africa like you say, but your standards and wealth still seem very poor
Yes because out of 160 million people, less than 500,000 semi illiterate Nigerians in South Africa represent the entire population. This shows a high form of your intelligence and reasoning abilities.

PS, I repeat if you have a problem with those areas, divert your Zulu mob to go there and clean the place up and no African will raise their voice against such. Are you afraid of Nigerian gangstas? Obviously not since your Zulu thugs are able to loot and maime.

When you are done with your matric exams come back and then you can come stomp with the big boys

I generally sympathetic to most foreigner s in s Africa, but nigerians are the worst honestly. the street I've grown up in has become a hell hole thanks to Nigerians. they come sell their drugs and turn woman unto prostitutes, their filthy and piss in the street like nothing( probably normal in Nigeria) throw their rubbish in the street turning it into a road like in nigeria, are loud and fight a lot. I've even seen 1 fight with a policemen. they come here to south Africa and think they can do whatever they like. now thanks to Nigerians the crime, drug addicts have become normal.
If you say Nigeria is so blady great, why do you come in thousands here and screw up things?
It is evident you are one of those illiterates whos world begins and ends in South Africa.

WHy don't you march to parliament and turn to those corrupt leaders of yours to come to these areas and clean up those streets and deport any Nigerian involved in illegal activity instead of taking the lives of human beings

Again..stereotyping much..aint you.... But offcourse yes you are very right.......It is your country and you are the HOST..as you say.... we pray that you remain "GOOD HOSTs" AMEN...The greatest sin of a country is if they treat vulnerable "foreigners" (hate this word though) with contempt...contempt...I pray that some South Africans would also stop projecting their problems on this foreigners and assume they are all up to "illegal SHENANIGANS" ......It would good if they can learn a thing or two from them.....and vice versa...PEACE..
This is why I gave up a long time ago getting into so called "civil" conversations.

MORPHEUS PROCLAIMS LOUD AND CLEAR! IF you catch any Nigerian in illegal activity, Selling drugs please put him in jail, ban him from South Africa and deport him immediately.

The problem is that this is not even about Xenophobia. Xenophobia is just a front, I can also see through many comments here, what these attacks merely did was to afford Naija a stick to beat us with.

I actually came to this site to condemn these attacks in the first place. Here's what you don't understand In south África almost everyone bar the Xenophobes themselves, is against these attacks, I know it's something you won't accept but it's true. The reason why I make these generalizations about Nigerians is that Im merely trying to show that generalizing is unfair, because all of a suddenN because I'm South African therefore I'm Xenophobic, I'm merely tryin to apply the same thing to Nigerians so you can see how unfair it is, No South African on this site has justified or supported these actions of a few,
I have ben arguing with South Africans on here for years about the same "generalization". IF you doubt it run a search on any of my posts, read through it carefully and see that I force ya''ll to stare your own stereotyping in the face

It is weird that these attacks have now forced some of you to realize this. Strange.

Anyways I am not witchunting South Africans.,.. Your history has been though and difficult.. We did not know what your misery felt like but we felt it even from afar...I just appeal to Black South Africans to open their minds and allw people in... They should stop this very narrow nationalistic way to think.. Other Africans are not the "other" it is not a bragging match..me against them..we are better ..they are not....Black South Africans have to embrace diversity, tolerance, love and understanding of other cultures..
When I look at you guys ..I see myself..I wish that when you look at me...you also see yourselves... That is only the way we can move on...PEACE#

Really..What you are doing is just a reflection of what you are as a BLACK SOUTH AFRICA MAN...Inability to reflect but huge ability to deflect and project problems unto others... This thread is about SAFRICAN XENOPHOBIA....Look it is silly for South Africans to feign ignorance about it.. You don't have to be on the streets killing foreigners to be xenophobic, The xenophobic attitudes of South Africans for the most part are on display..buttons don't need to be pressed..

I have travelled with my british passport to South Africa and on my Nigerian passport too.. On 4 separate occasions..at the immigration which is meant to be the face of South Africa to foreigners, the attitude was clear. He hounded me for being Nigerian and also British.. at the end of discussion he shouted at me and said I should live his till or he would kill me... I won't recount other instances.. I have been singled out of waiting crowds at OR TAMBO and asked very uncomfortable questions.. A woman immigration officer has called me A drug dealer because I am Nigerian ..But I let her have it.. I reciprocated by calling her a rapist and she was totally shocked...We settled the IMPASSE at the side offices of the immigration persons at OR TAMBO...
I would digress though.. TROLLING on a Nigerian forum trying to defend the indefensible just shows the new low that you guys are stepping to. I don't blame you though.. Your President has not taking responsibility for anything he has done...he keeps deflecting..exactly what you are doing...
What is sadder is South Africans keep pushing this ideology around PAN AFRICANISM..SMH#.I don't know what is sadder the fact that they don't know what that ideology means or they actually think South Africa as a country is AFRICA as a whole? Can someone please help me educate this lost souls...about what PANAFRICANISM is? The narrow nationalist ideology they have forged with slowly isolate them more just like the days when the WHITE MASTERS DOMINATED them....but offcourse they forget what they went through and what it meant to be the oppressed and have an oppressor...Now they are not only the OPRESSOR..they are coming for people that are not in anyway their enemy...
I am happy I am not the only one who can clearly see this.
