Exactly. It would be a bit ridiculous for foreigners to expect that from SA government cos at the end of the day the need to look out for their citizen's first. All we saying is stop the hate and killings. If they want them gone because they feel they are strong competition or stealing their jobs there are so many ways to go about this. Those who open shops why are the locals buying from there? Why don't they come together and support only local shops for example instead of looting and burning their places down.
Cause they haven't figured out how to practice GROUP ECONOMICS yet, they are trying hard to spend and live like White people in South Africa. A lifestyle they have coveted since the days of Apartheid.

You rand should circulate your community at least 8 to 10 times before it leaves into another mans hands but how do you want an illiterate from the township to understand that simple concept.

They are waiting for Bursaries from government

Yes, there is. Young children of foreigners learn for free in South African government schools.
Any sensible government will not leave a child uneducated, foreign or native. That's just plain stupid. Breeding ground for criminality. University level is different. That's on you if you want to go further.

PunkyOh:
Universities are a different story though, we pay too, so what's the big deal? And as for bursaries, why should South Africa overlook her own citizens & grant bursaries to foreign nationals? It makes no sense. South Africans, especially the blacks, have been neglected in the past, were refused proper education etc so it's only fair that this new generation, reap the rewards of what many of our mothers & fathers died for. Why must someone else be favoured when we also have our very own citizens who are desperate for the same kind of help?
Nobody has lobbied your government to give money for Tertiary education or any grants to foreign nationals. Private Scholarships is a different case. Its not government money.

Please tell your government to focus on you. Nobody wants free handouts from your government.

This is the nonsense excuse you people keep giving, day in day out.

Sickening!

If I am the present president of Nigeria;
I will send the 11 presidential jets to South Africa to make several trips there until all the Nigerians living in South Africa are been evacuated back to Nigeria.
Then I will direct NCAA,NCC and NBC to withdraw the operating licenses of South Africa's companies like Multi-choice,DSTV and South Africa's airlines making billions of naira monthly here in our great country Nigeria.
Now that's to send a message to South African's that Nigeria as a country will not joke with the lives and economic well-being of her citizens home or abroad who are being made vicitms of fraudulent exploitation, scams and Xenophobia.

Yes this is true. I find the statement that they are stealing our jobs quite ridiculous because before that person came what were they doing? Nada. There was this Somali guy who came to SA and started selling Tomatoes on the road, then lil by lil he started to expand and today he has his own shop and is driving a car. Within 2 years or so. If he can do it why can't the SAns? The society has become one of entitlement and blame. Its because of the whites or the foreigners are stealing our jobs. Even if all South Africans leave they will go back and blame the whites and if all whites leave then they will probably blame the Zulus/Xhosa. The blacks here have so much opportunities but they do not make use of them. My heart bleeds for what these people are going through now. If they don't want foreigners they should allow a reasonable time period for them to at least sell off their stuff etc so that they can go home.
I pray it happens but I also pray that there is severe retaliation by all governments in Africa against this Heinous crime.

This is the same stance that South Africans are fighting for. Why can't you open up your own malls and shops etc and employ your locals(job creation) that way the money can stay in Nigeria and not flow out. Nobody deserves to be murdered and killed. There are other ways of dealing with foreigners if they want then to go. There are so many illegal immigrants in America but they are not getting this treatment. Even the worst SA criminals are not getting treated as such. Best thing would be To put SA on sanctions like how they did with the apartheid government otherwise xenophobia/afrophobia will continue to get worse and worse. Those that can go home should go home or try and save up money so that the can start something back home.
Sister, to be frank, even if every immigrant leaves South Africa, their situation will not change because the root cause of their problems are not Black foreign immigrants. If their government cannot figure out how to solve their issues now, what will be the difference when they leave.

They continue to complain that immigrants are draining their resources. These same immigrants pay taxes indirectly into the hands of their government whether they operate in the informal sector or not plus the fact that in total there cannot be more that 5 million immigrants in the country against 49 million black South Africans. If you extrapolate what the immigrants put in versus what they take out, you are left with very little resource being shifted over to them.

but try explaining that math to an illiterate from the township. Go figure!

I'm very sure that after the Oba's comment A yoruba man still go to ladipo or Alaba to buy goods from an Igbo man, and an Igbo man still go to Iya Basira to buy rice or amala. They were just words of the mouth and the few that have hatred for other tribes are just dying in silence. Even if Agbaje had won, nothing would have happened to the Igbos. Let's not bring sentiments into this and let's all join hands together to frown at this madness perpetrated by South Africans

As a Nigerian residing and working in SA, I'll call a spade a spade. 'Many' south africans are xenophobic! yes... that stench is always in the air, even when you find yourself amongst the learned ones. Yes, i understand our people do drugs here and use their girls for prostitution, and they paint 'all' Nigerians by those vices as an excuse .. this acts not unique to nigerians here, there are over 800 south africans in foreign jails for drug related offenses too...
on the local level, little are prepared to give you a fair shake even if morals is by your side..
now see how defensive they are today, 'we aint xenophobic'; 'not all south africans are xenophobic'
you see how generalization cause damages? i saw this coming.
The stench is in the air my bros.

Bro, a number of those pictures are false. Yes, there are agitations for foreigners to leave the informal sector. I can't blame South African citizens though. This is a country where over 50% of the active population are unskilled. A large population of migrants from Congo and Malawi tend to be unskilled also. This is inadvertently placing pressure on the limited job offers for South Africa's unskilled populace. To complicate matters, the SA economy has been taking severe economy beatings over the past two years. The ruling government there seems to have lost grip and have been struggling to 'fix' the economy for almost 21 years in power. if you are I think SA should take a cue and vote out the current government instead of facing helpless foreigners. On a serious note, South Africa has trained thousands of foreigners, funding their postgraduate studies for over 12 years. This too, has elevated the research profile of SA with it being the only country in Africa among the top 3% of best Universities in the world.
Many Nigerian Soldiers died in Sierra leone and Liberia fighting the RUF and rebel forces. They contributed to the peace the country enjoys today. Are we jumping up and down broadcasting it to the world.

Kenyans were attacked and over 100 of their students killed, They did not retaliate against ethnic Somalis living among them.

Why are these people looting, displacing families and causing havoc. Their governments failure has nothing to do with economic migrants in the country and they should not get a pass because they have done the things you mention above. There are ways of ensuring that you curtail immigration into the country. South Africa is not the only country handling a mass of immigrants into their borders.

TonySpike:
Finally, the situation is not as sordid as the pictures being posted online. Most of these mass actions happen around Durban townships like Umlazi, Isipingo and KwaMashu. These is where very low income-earners reside. But reports reaching indicate that it is gradually spreading to Gauteng.
I believe the government is overwhelmed with issues they are clueless to resolve and are passively in support of these uprisings as an excuse. Every response to their issues are aggression. Pulling down of statues, black foreigners, Land redistribution. The people have bent up anger and are looking for any excuse to lash out.

Look at the statement their minister of home affairs made right after the attacks and his demeanor and you will understand what I am talking about. If they want to these immigrants gone then make it a policy but get ready for retaliation and reparcussions. YOU CANNOT EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT AT THE SAME TIME

But i doubt if you will find any South African in your country. South Africans dont travel outside their borders. Even those compnanies in other african countries, are not managed by south africans.
At the end of it, we say "DOWN WITH XENOPHOBIA" Lets love one another
There is reason "BLACK" South Africans don't travel outside their borders a lot. They are not exposed, They lack financial means and most are just getting used to moving around their country 20 years into free movement.

You can say the same thing about African Americans who are the least AMericans to own passports. They are too busy trying to get theirs in their own country they rarely go anywhere else.

As foreign financial support from australia, UK, america continues to dwindle, the south african economy now depends a lot more than before for foreign exchange repatriated by its franchise companies in other african countries like kenya, nigeria, ethiopia, ghana, congo etc. On the otherhand, the south african local manufacturing and service economy is 90 percent dominated by its local firms. If the rest of africa decides to pull the plug, the south african economy would be worse off for it. Africa needs africans for growth. These attacks are a disgrace to the entire global black race. In addition ban all South African artists scheduled to perform any where in Africa and all SA workers and send them back home to SA

BOycott all South African products.

BOY COTT Shoprite

In which country?
The very same poor South Africans aren't the ones giving them economic opportunity. Unless foreigners start respecting South Africans in their own country, things like these will always come up everytime. How do you insult your host day in and day out and expect no retaliation. I am not supporting this xenophobia or Afrophobia, whatever you wanna call it. But i blame both sides, south africans and foreigners. How do you go to America and start insulting americans, instead of blending in with the local communities and become part of them. The biggest mistake foreigners make in South Africa, is to isolate themselves. It becomes "Them and us".Foreigners have no close contact with their host, hence we have this issue on our hands. Even zimbabweans who are very close to South africa, isolate themselves. South Africans by their nature, are very sceptical about the unknown, there is more education that needs to happen both sides. Whats happening is just an embarrasment to the black race. We have 400 africans dying trying to cross to Italy, whats wrong with us. Are we a hopeless race?
I have to commend the Ghanaians, Batswanas, basothos, zwasis, zambians, they blend easily to local communities, the rest, they keep their distance hailing insults to their host. Its rare to find a Nigerian, zimbabwean, mozambican, congolese, ethiopian or somalians with a South African friend, it does not happen, why?
That is why you guys need to be more exposed, cause the rubbish you just spewed shows you know nothing about immigration and are again looking for St.tupid excuses to display your frustrations at your self loathing and the inability of your government to solve your issues. If you look at every single migration of people anywhere including that or your boers, people always group up as a "community" first before intermingling with the locals. Its a natural human tendency to do this.

Even Africans that end up in other countries such as China create a community within a community. Why are the Chinese not butchering them. You travel to the US, the UK you see communities of Africans within an area. Why are the locals not killing them. Nigerians hang with Nigerians, Liberians with Liberians, Congolese with Congolese yet they are able to display a mutual respect for each other. THey don't have to like each other, as long as there is respect. This is the reason you have places like little Haiti, Little Havana, CHina town in other countries. Do you normally see Nigerians hanging out with Ethiopians yet there is a mutual respect or at least they cross each other with no beef. Do you see Congolese hanging out with Ghanaians, yet there still is a mutual respect.

Can you mention a derogatory term used by other Africans for Africans such as your "makwerekwere". We identify ourselves based on nationality

The problem with you people is you have been so isolated from other Africans that you see them as a threat when they band together. You see them coming into your community and outsmarting you. You see they have international connections and are able to do business well while your unskilled men and women don't know what to do . This is where your hatred and jealousy comes from.

The only thing being insulted here is your intelligence when you react like animals to your OWN SELF HATRED by trying to destroy what you don't understand.

Please spare us the gibberish
