With my experience,I wouldn't pay the extra 80usd,
From what your narrated,you and the seller are on the one in business,
Except you are in dire need of the solar generator.
Open a dispute,your claim should be tracking is not valid,since you could not track it.
Tell the shipper or whoever to return the item back to where it came from,trust me,they won't return it,because I am very sure the seller has paid all necessary duties,the shipper is trying to rip you off,
Because you did not make any of such arrangement with the shipper,I wonder where he expects you to get extra 80usd.
Open dispute,show evidence the tracking is not valid,tell the shipper to send it back to China,
He and the seller would ensure you get your item.

I am happy, i didn't pay the $80.

So yesterday, i called the lady who sent me the text that i should pay the above amount to a certain Mr omotayo adetola abgaje of Top flight logistics Ltd, then i asked to speak to the said man to negotiate the amount. The lady who picked up said there was no Mr abgaje.

So today, i got a call from the same shipping company, they told me that my delivery is here and that they will deliver it to me.

I asked about the $80 payment, the man who i spoke to was confused, then i explained to him how i got a text message from a number who said i should pay $80 to one Mr abgaje. He asked me if i didn't pay for delivery to the seller.


So i am guessing that, the Mr abgaje was trying to scam me maybe because he had access to the delivery manifest.

To let you guys know, i couldn't track the goods with the code they gave me.

Today i got a text message from [b]top flight international logistics limited [/b]in ajoa estate telling me that my goods has arrived and that i have to pay $80 into one mr abgaje account.

I called the company and the lady who picked up said that is what is in her manifest.

Goods is worth $280 plus delivery = $310

Now i am wondering why do i have to pay $80 again?

The currency doesn’t matter what matters are:
1. The source of fund is it traceable ?
2. If you have large amount transaction you need to explain it .
3. Does the fund came in through transfer from your business or deposit. Cash Deposit is regarded as non traceable source of fund
If you get these things right you will not have issue go ahead and use it.

If they are cash deposit and i have proof for the source of funds ( invoice) can i tender this ?

Ofcourse you can tender any account you so wish… they are however not interested in type of currency and/or account balance. They want to make out your financial situation via your account statement ie.. how you make your money, is it sustainable, will a trip be possible from such background without breaking the bank, will this person return back to home country due to their financial comfort etc

If we price the goods we export in naira, it might as well push demand for the naira and likely stabilise exchange rate between the 2 currencies.

Pricing goods in naira does not stop us from meeting our debt obligations in dollars, what we will have here is favourable exchange for government to source dollars. But also we need cut off speculators to start this idea off
