This new tax drive is not a useless policy o.
We need to generate more money from tax.
so that they will loot the proceeds as usual. This govt to me has no moral ground to collect tax. We pay for everything in this country. When crime is committed we pay the police to investigate, when we fall sick the govt hospitals cannot really help us, bad roads everywhere except in daura. Payment of tax in Nigeria is just a waste of money. It is not justified.

List of banks that may not pay dividend for financial year end 2017

1. Unity bank
2. Sterling bank
3. FCMB
4. First Bank
5. Diamond bank
6. WEMA bank
7 Access Bank
8. UBA
9.Stanbic IBtc
10.Heritage Bank
11 Skye Bank

So if you have shares in these bank dividends are doubtful
FBNH will definitely pay dividend. They are a holding company and for the past 2yrs have not been paying dividends from their banking arm but from other subsidiaries. Their merchant bank, first registrars, insurance arm etc are very profitable and will continue to contribute to dividends.

Someone did an analysis and said it is not possible for any stock to go below 20kobo, can't remember the basis; or is it 19kobo
1kobo is more than 5% of 19kobo
Stocks in that category can only move 1kobo; not a fraction.
Stocks in nse cannot move more than 5% of reference price.
So we might not see 1kobo stocks grin
The day I raised this issue, you said I no sabi maths. Believe it or not, when a stock gets to 1k and moves to 2k its 100% movement. Thats the flaw in their new rule. Instead of looking for ways of growing the market, this is all NSE have to offer. Forget the 5% rule, its no longer feasible.
Once a stock is at 1k, you get 100,000 units for just 1000 naira. Make una leave japaul to get to 1k so that one of us in this forum can just take over the company and change management.

Unless you are calculating pre UBA-spin off prices
As at today, no stock will give the dividend yield that UCAP and Afriprud will give
never say never. Eterna will surely beat them.

FMN will not pay dividends in their year ending this 2018. The cashflow is negative and they are needing capital. Paying will mean borrowing from the bank just to satisfy shareholders.

This may depress share price in a short term.
Larfage did rights issue, has negative everything, are planning ti issue bonds etc yet they have announced a closed period and board meeting to consider result and dividend.
Guiness did rights issue in july 2017 and by sept 2017 they paid dividends.

Amen my broda. My prayer now is for SEC to release Oando from prison. I went through the bids for the stock and found a particular bid of 50,000,000 units. That alone is enough to take the stock to 20naira.Pls hep me beg SEC. They should just lift the suspension for just one month.

Going into dividend season, I have only three stocks in my portfolio, and they are all non-dividend, carcass, dry bone stocks. But I am still happy with them, although sometimes I get the impression that village pple have finally taken hold of me. But what can you really do when villa pple already have you? The 3stocks in my portfolio are:
1- FBNH
2- DIAMOND BANK
3- OANDO.
Diamond is about 70% of my portfolio.

On a very sincere note, I dont see why the new CBN rule should create any panic. The rule simply prohibits affected banks from paying more than 75% of their profit after tax, as dividend. It doesn't stop them from paying dividends.

This will affect Fidelity, FCMB, Diamond, Sterling
It might affect diamond bank. I said might, because diamond bank commenced the process of divesting from its international assets with a view to becoming a national bank. If they have completed the divestment, then they will not fall into the category. But in any case, we are not expecting dividends from diamond. All we want is bumper profit and capital appreciation.

MSCI MOVEMENT FOR 13 FEBRUARY 2017/GENERAL MARKET CO

The fund made the 1st offloading move yesterday. You can see the effect in the %loss on the Allshare index. It was fairly higher than what we have been seeing in the past few days. That is the strength of monitoring what is the fund is doing for us all to see.

There is no need to panic, we should let out stops get us out of the market. While we minimise committing further funds into the market till the bearish reduces. One of the factors that reduce the bear strenght is the fact that we are close to an earnings season.

[b]I am enjoying following the major funds movement, it is news behind the news. If I am not able to analyse what the fund is doing on my own, I will not mind paying for this information. See what one would have saved be getting our earlier!!!

Caution: This information is for educational purpose only, it is not an investment advise.

MTN public offer of shares worth $500million this june and subsequent listing on nse. Should we save to buy mtn shares at public offering or just wait till it is listed on the nse. There is no doubt about the profitability of MTN as a company and their leadership position in Nigerian telecoms sector. How do you guys see this listing.

Oando is my goalkeeper.
fmn and wapco my defenders.
Transcorp my attacker/scorer just got wounded.

I will bring it back to the field if healed from the wound.
You that I know? You hype a stock and promote it in this forum to the point that many newbies join the bus. Then you quietly leave without letting them know. When result shows up they suffer alone. Thats what you did in fcmb, transcorp etc Now you want to start with Oando, fmn and wapco. Well I will not blame you, na who want go village quick quick go follow your mouth.
