If your school is listed in uni-assist, that implies that your application MUST go through uni-assist and your supporting documents which includes your transcript MUST be sent to the uni-assist address provided.
That's the reason you are paying the HANDLING FEE of 70 EUR to uni-assist.
Uni-assist collect and file your application on your behalf to the University for consideration provided you meet with the Minimum Requirements for Admission.

Not familiar with WES.

You only need to show proof of funding for one year at the interview stage, when you arrive here, you will have to sort yourself out which should not be a lot of problem. And when applying, don't emphasis on the money available as personally yours because the interviewer may begin to probe on your SOURCE OF FUND particularly emphasising on your work experience as contained in your submitted CV and means of living after 1 year.
Better to use more generic sources like Family Support and Personal Savings TOGETHER.

Ordinarily I wouldn't want to respond to this. S/he was coming from the US Thread but has not demonstrated that. When you join a thread, it ought to be NATURAL to begin from page 1 of Part 1!
There are some persons here, who joined lately but had to go read from page 1 where the discussion started and randomly read through some other pages and became INFORMED. Those persons were able to ask SPECIFIC questions and probably got answers.
US Education process is even more cumbersome in my opinion with the Forms.

I know many persons don't like to speak the truth because it somehow hurts our feelings but we have to grow together and our posts and comments should reflect our statuses as prospective students, students and otherwise. My earlier comment has advised to read from pages 1-10, study the already known sites and randomly read other pages, how has your quote/comment helped him/her apart from unwarranted attack?

Inform us the semester you applied for. In February, most summer semester admissions has ended and summer semester began 1st April while in February, Winter Semester applications has not started yet for most schools. However, if you applied for Winter Semester 2021, you will have to wait till August-October for admission status.

I have been too familiar with the US process that gathering new information for another country will be difficult for me. But someone that already knows the process can put you through a step by step processes which will be so easy to understand.

1. Identify a school from DAAD.
2. Open a Uniasist account (Closed for maintenance till 15th April). I couldn't open an account.
3. Apply to a school. Submit all the necessary documents.

From here what is next.

I saw Health Insurance (Basic package for people below 30 and Plus package for people above 30). I'm above 30 and going for Undergrad. I want to study a different thing.

I already downloaded the Finitiba app from Playstore.

If you pass through this stage, this is the next one, till I appear before them in the Embassy. I saw Category A and Category B visas, I don't know what they mean

As a prospective student, you should be able to read, comprehend information on the websites.
Only ask technical questions and not general questions.
You know Daad.de, you know uni-assist, you've learned about health insurance and blocked account. Just read the various sites, the embassy site and COMPREHEND. Or start reading from Pp 1-10, then randomly click different pages. If you have further technical questions, please ask, no one has time to school you through the stages like you're filling your first JAMB/UTME forms.

Congrats, call Fintiba to return your funds back to the account it was charged from or otherwise. Best way for quicker response is through phone call.

Opening of Student Account (Blocked Account)

In order to open a blocked account, you need to send an application to the bank in Germany. Your
signature on the application form needs to be certified.
Please present:
1. the filled application form for a blocked account
2. international passport and two black and white copies of the data page (no color copy!);
the same applies to the legal representatives of a minor
3. admission letter of the German university and a copy thereof
4. a prepaid envelope (from a private service provider such as FedEx, DHL or UPS to forward
the application to Germany) addressed to the bank providing your blocked account
5. evidence of the source of your funds (e. g. bank statements)
You will have to sign the application form in presence of a Consular officer in order to have your
signature certified. The same applies to the legal representatives of a minor.
The following fees will apply:
STUDENTS LANGUAGE COURSE PARTICIPANTS
 certification of signature: 20,- €  certification of signature: 20,- €
 certification of the copy of the passport
data page: 10,- €
= 20,- € = 30,- €
The fees are payable in cash (only in NGN) at the Embassy in Abuja or at the Consulate General
in Lagos and depend on the current exchange rate.

You guys should be serious here. This is an academic thread and the quality of posts should reflect that.
You have to spend time to study the websites, requirements and education in Germany in general and should be able to do so without needed 'help'.
You need to study, you found a school, then what else do you need? Someone to tell you to read their admission requirements? Someone to tell you to gather required documents? Someone to tell you to click 'Apply'? Someone to tell you to email or fill a Contact Form for further enquiries?
Anyone seeking for a postgraduate study should be self-equipped to handle BASIC stuffs about applications and only ask technical questions.

Anyways, use available Daad.de and masterportal.com to filter your search, all public universities in Germany are tuition-free and you only have to pay semester fees of 270-300 EUR every semester to maintain your studentship.
Summer semester application has closed and Winter Semester applications will soon open and mostly close June 15th annually. Apply to several schools in related courses of interest you qualify for.
After admission offered, you begin the visa process and hopefully the situation will be better at the Embassy in Nigeria, before you start talking about blocked account.

I don't need to respond to this...But Reference Letter does not show any form of intelligence, the only thing on it is letter headed paper and then stamp; and yes I don't want to use my university lecturers...

What does it then mean? Anyways, for academic purposes, use lecturers particularly those that taught you in school. If asked to provide 3, better to use 2 academic referees and 1 work-related referee if applicable.

But think about what reference actually means.

In my opinion, one step at a time, you get here first, and then begin making plans. If you do not have children/a child yet, would be easier.

To certify documents, if you live close to the embassy it can be done usually for free. Or take it Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs if you live in Abuja. Otherwise, just use the High Court in your City. Its black and white copies that are needed.

It depends. If you had your IT in a lab or field, provide the acceptance letter or certificate issued by the firm as at when you began. Otherwise, approach the firm for a written report or note stating duration and kind of activities.

For the thesis, the Abstract and Certification pages can be of help.

For block account, the only option they gave me was to go source for dollar tru black market and pay through a dollar account.

Black market is over 6mil in naira for 10,521 euro(fintiba)

Approach a different branch or regional HQ in your State. This was used by someone last 3 weeks and it was even in proxy.

If it does not work, use the option of USD or Fintiba 3rd party option as earlier mentioned.

Look at the school requirements and email the admissions officer that you are a Nigerian and your education language is English.

Look up University of Cologne courses. Seems they have it.
If a university is not listed as uni-assist universities, simply apply directly to the school on their website and save your 70 or 80 EUR.
