I just had my interview in Dubai where I reside. Only documents including a motivation letter (why Germany? ), letter of presence and blocked account confirmation letter were requested, submitted and waited 20 mins. Then the CO handed back my originals were returned and was informed that I would have to wait for at least 4 weeks for their email. No questions where asked.
It was unusual to me though.

I got my AD for 7th Oct with the consulate in Dubai where I reside but they emphasised on evidence of blocked account and amount. My school, Univ. of Koln is supposed to resume on 2nd Nov but yet to get my AL though I have been confirmed by my dept and had received a letter of required presence.
I hope the embassy starts considering the non-EU countries asap especially nigerians.

I don’t know if this is a good news but the German embassy in Turkey has stated that students going to Germany do not need to provide “letter of presence”.

Although Turkey is not a member of the EU States, but its negotiating its way and this is a green light.

Just got my letter of required presence from the department, International Master in Environmental Science.
I am yet to receive official admission letter from University of Cologne though.
1. Those of you who have received admission letters, was it by email or post mail(physical) copy?
2. Is letter of presence issued by the department or the university itself (note the difference in letter head address)?

Well, I would do that but helpline is not working. But I got response from one of the emails this morning stating that due to restrictions on COVID-19, only exempted categories of visa application would be entertained of which student visa is among.

Guys, I would need help on booking appointment here in Dubai. I have been able to successfully fill the visa application form, but stuck at booking appointment. The consular office had assigned visa issues to vfsglobal.com and provided an email to send information to in order to book appointment. I have been on that and they keep sending automated responses back to me stating same covid-19 stuffs. On the website also, there is no option for long stay visa category as only short stay is available.
I need help o. But still waiting for the official admission letter to be sent to my email although I have gotten a departmental email.

I am trying to book appointment but emails to vfsglobal which is handling visa application to Germany keeps bringing one auto response of COVID-19 blah blah blah.
I guess the steps are:
1. Fill the application form
2. Book an appointment
3/4. Interview with and Pay 75 Euros at embassy.

If the have given you admission and you have your emirate card and BA or SL, please dont come to Nigeria, do your interview there is much better.

You don't need to attest or certify your documents for interview. You only need one Original copy and 2 photocopies of each document you are taking to embassy. The link above will give you more information.

For health insurance MAWISTA or care concept is okay... but you dont need health insurance for visa interview or do you want to do your enrollment??

I received an early INFORMAL email from the department i applied to, International Masters in Environmental Science, University of Cologne. However, I am resident in Dubai. I have these questions to ask:
1. What documents are required by the German Embassy?
2. I only have my original documents, DO I NEED CERTIFIED OR ATTESTED DOCUMENTS SINCE I WILL BE PRESENTING THE ORIGINALS AT THE INTERVIEW
3. Which health insurance is best regarding price?

If it is not stated that the said document should be certified/authenticated at the German Embassy then it suffices to use a high court for certification purposes.
