Make we leave this issue, please someone should recommend which stock I should buy tomorrow?

Meanwhile,I have not received my FBN returned money.I wrote a letter to the Managing Director of FBN and copied SEC.Someone called me from FBN today that they received my letter and they will DEFINATELY get back to me about my money by next week .So it took a letter to the Bank MD for someone to act.

Thank you my brother Blueband,  Here is a list of stocks to buy:

Afroil (Fundamentals:  WIWO)
First Alluminium (Fundamentals: CICO)
Capoil (Fundamentals:  RIRO)
Acen Insurance (Fundamentals:  I forgot)
Dangote Pure Water (Fundamentals: See Madam Ndi for details)

Afroil will be giving 10 for 1 bonus.  Don't ask me where I heard it.  Read Thatdayonline.

Afribank has changed their mind on the Bonus, they forgot they did a PO.  Again don't ask me for details.
Sterling Bank has been lifted from technical demotion (if there is anything like that)
etc etc etc.  More breaking news to follow.

AKT, I must confess, you have become wiser than even your CANDLES.  Of all the answers and grammar to my puzzle, this is simply the AWARD WINNING ONE.

There is no better answer.  Evans Medical price is on DRUGS.  NDLEA wey una grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Last week somebody advised me to position myself for short term, I took a look at him, asked myself within "Does this one know about candles"  And yet he was right, I would have been smiling, though, dangerously now.  Because the thrust behind its price movement is as mysterious as celestial candlelight smiley

Any company that records a huge loss now is my target. Look at Cutix, it has made close to 100% after a woeful result, Look at Evans medical, it has recorded over 90% after a gangantuan loss. Look at Transcorp, no result, but it is even on BID during TS, and many others. Then see Diamond bank with good result, na push and start, First bank, push and start, UBA na push and no start sef. NSEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If the post TS bull run in AIICO is to be taken as a guide, then I better load Crusader now, and wait till after PO is done and sell after TS is lifted.

Is there anything wrong with this thinking?

invisible,

I had similar thoughts though, but one has got to be strategic.  Look at it this way.  Let's give 3 - 4 months for the Crusader PO to run and for the TS to be lifted.  During what season would that fall?  What I mean is this.  Assuming the Crusader PO starts March and by early May, the TS is lifted, would that time be BULL season still or BEAR season?  AIICO case is diferent, the TS was lifted during the BULL season hence the rally, at least to some extent.  It will be a good idea if the present liquidity persists till that time, and I believe it will.

@Mr Risky, (i like that name) only you are not allowing me to take some calculated risks with Afribank. Really I do not see Afribank in the league of Transcorp, for these reasons;

Afribank is still making profits
Afribank is still conducting banking business
Afribank did not have its aquisition reversed
Afribank just did a PO which could add to its profitability

Transcorp has no hope, no money, no friends and the chances of a boardroom fight is looking closer by the day (remember Odimegwu)

Afribank may use this bonus rumor to stir up interest in their stock and that is no skin off my nose since am into it for CICO only.

Well, if its CICO for Afribank, no qualms.  Things will not always remain bad for Transcorp, though.  If we are to go by what the Capital market should be, Transcorp has not so much disappointed anyone.  They didn't promise dividend in 2007, nor 2008, and the usual teething problems with new corporation are what have bedeviled the management; once those shady aspects are scapped off the dead living giant - in the long term (which capital market is supposed to be except for emerging markets like NSE), transcorp should be able to deliver. The horses are still willing to carry the beggars grin grin grin grin grin

@ hbrednic, did I hear the smell of bonus? Nigerians are bonus crazy, and will bid the stock sky high if that rumor happens to be near the truth. I think I will increase the qty of my Afribank.

There you go again, you want to live on rumours! You just told us the sad experience you had with Transcorp and now Afribank. What is the margin with which Afribank is that different from Transcorp? Guess your bitterness with Transcorp is due to your "bad" experience with it, otherwise the news filtering in does not suggest the worst has come for Transcorp! Why not think other areas other than AFribank. There you go again Otherwise what did you expect Afribank to use to raise their stakes as they have unstrategically released their 3rd quarter result, and FY result won't be ready till who knows when?

Mr. Risky, I no be blueband oh, but I say I must to respond to this your post.

Were you really forced to sell CI Leasing?

Did you really lose N300k?

I think the answer to both questions is NO.  smiley

Queen Wendy,  My pain is that I wanted to stay long with that stock and others I have in my portfolio in my account with them.  Since i am running away with my load due to their less than poor performance, I got that accident cheesy cheesy  The stocks I am being "forced" to sell now were not meant for that purpose.  The firm has no website, so they always say "you know we are not online, so we cannot credit your account immediately after sale."  The cheque they gave one of my friends "bounced" pass Super Eagles football.  Hence I am fleeing for my life - for me portfolio of more than 7 figures naira no be small money wink. Well, no for that broking firm sha na I for baptize for this business smiley

@Blueband, the blueband wen you show na oyibo pikin I see there o.  Anyway it is accepted.

Truly, brokers are a recipe for disaster when they are not meeting expectations.  Since November, I have been offloading my portfolio from one broking firm. Three weeks ago when CILeasing was N9.60 I was forced to sell even that it is one stock I so much believe in.  Today CIleasing closed at N13 plus.  For 100,000units I have lost no less than N300,000 in just three weeks.  But is that all?  Do you know that I still have not received my cheque for the sale??  By my last call this evening, she said in her feminine tone "till Thursday next week, you know you are not in Lagos na.  Have a nice weekend" undecided cry. Queen Yodi, you have said it all.  NASCON is a N30 or more stock.  With good 3rd quarter result, it will shoot to N25, and then the rest will be history with the release of the YE result.  For now who wan CICO fit get CICOCELL grin grin  Once the price come down now, I will sure load more. Don't know which gets better result - INSTINCT or TECHNICAL ANALYSIS.  I sent in a buy order to my broker to get me Deap Capital after mark down, but after reading someone here's opinion, it sounded right that I shouldn't go in yet.  So I cancelled the order immediately.  If I had listened to my instincts, I would be counting my gains right now. That aside, everyone makes this mistake.  The guy's reasoning too was rational. It can happen in a bullish season.

@Pumping777, please tell, how much do you know about this Deap Capital.  My knowledge to me is still scanty.  Pls holla back as usual.

@ty_ademolu - I feel your pain. Pele. Sorry.

I suppose whatever you do cannot rectify the current situation. You ultimate plan will be to get another broker of course.

I have to say though that someone already told us about a broker firm in which only the MD goes to the floor and if the MD is not around your orders stays put.

Come to think of it, some folks will not know if they could be in the same situation because folks usually deal with marketers and have no idea who goes to the floor.

If you could be in this situation, this is the time to find out before you experience something similar.

That was BTW. I think you should patiently wait for the next bull runs for this stocks and sell at that point. This one don happen already. From there, you can move on to another broker. Good luck.

Pumping777, you gave a very wise advise.  As I am talking I am gradually selling off my stocks with one yeye broker.  I no trust them kobo.

The era will soon go when just because an MD of a broking firm has a little quarrel with his wife, then all mandates will stop and not be executed.

SELL OFF AND MOVE.   With my experience, it is easier for me to recommend a girl to a man for marriage than to recommend a broker cheesy

Let me explain.  I met my town's man yesterday and we got talking.  Then he said, "I heard you are heavily into stocks?"  asking.  I answered "well yes".  And we went on discussing.  I was now trying to prove guru by mentioning PE, EPS, Candestick or is it candlelight, guru maharaji etc.  You know.  And he asked "What is PE, CAGR?" He was sincere in his query, he has never heard terms like that before, meanwhile he just made his MILLIONS from Capoil.  He said he just took a look at the stock prices in the newspaper and saw that Capoil was very low priced.  So with N500,000 he went in and the price started shoooooootiiiiiiiiiiig and he got his millions grin grin grin.

Well you will say it's God, but my own na devil??

It could be from the floor.  There is no price Transcorp has not assumed since it was born.  The pp was done I think at N1, was listed on the floor at N6 or so, climbed to N9.71, came down, went up, stayed for months at N9.71 on TECHNOCRAT SUSPENSION, went down, did small jangolova and then now its on bid grin grin

Na wa for nairaland and titles o! Which one be "queen of news behind the news" again   grin

Anyway the deal with Cummins is still on! Last I heard, Cummins is trying to pick up an equity stake in AG leventis. Not sure how this will affect the valuation -- esp. if more shares are issued to accommodate cummins, but this move at least testifies to the fact that the company is on the right track. Me don commot substantially from AG Leventis, but I still have some small units there sha.

As for Transcorp hitting N10, me no sabi that one o! There's a lot of pent up supply from very angry peeps who bought the PO at N6, and are just waiting to empty their shares on the floor once they break even  cheesy. I been wan do cico for this one last week, but fear no gree me. I went for capoil at 13.2 instead  cheesy cheesy

Thanks sooooooooooooooo much Wendy.  This is exactly what I wanted to hear.  At least before the emergency on the power sector take any meaningful effect, AG Leventis and Cummin go don sell plenty generators.  Even with the emergency, rural Nigeria will still rely heavily on generators.  I go follow them, by this time next year AG Leventis share price go don de begin with 2, or 3,  Na me and dem this year.

Transcorp offer was at N7.50, once the price gets close I can see an angry army of INVESTORS tearing the price to pieces, even with the BEST NEWS.  We are tired of hype.  My consolation with transcorp has been the hotel (don't know if they even have an accountant there sef!  I don tire).  Thanks.  This niwitchcable abi na niwicable, even at N12, na me and dem grin  One thing with your news is that it is always very reliable!  Thanks for sharing, you will always be remembered.

AKT, how's the little one?

There are no juicy numbers, it's a turnaround situation with all the perfect qualities of a turnaround. Great market potential, new board, much more focussed core investor with tentacles in various other businesses including oil and gas and clean, debt-free balance sheet with substantial working capital to jump start operations. I hate to hype stocks, but this is another eterna/costain story in the making. The only big problem I see with these guys however is the competition from imported cables. But all they need is a couple of big ticket contracts to make some dough. With all the activity going on in the housing, telecom and power sector, these guys shouldn't have problems grabbing themselves some of those contracts, esp. since they have govt-connected peeps on the board. I like this scenario!

Wendy, thank you soooooooooooooooo much for the AG Leventis.  Even without the Superstore, I am still shopping grin grin grin grin.  I am more or less a medium to long termer, I was just wondering if I could grow with Leventis for the next three or so years.  Could you still confirm the Cummin connection, because I don't mind piling more units even at present price.  Has the story changed??  I can see you online, please answer me before you disappear, and maybe to reappear again, who knows maybe first week of March when Transcorp would have hit N10.  I can hear a whole congregation saying AMEN grin grin grin grin

The best way for me to answer this question is to let you understand why Oceanic does not meet my objectives NOW. I sold every unit of Oceanic I have in my trading and long term portfolios and thank God I did.

Oceanic is a sound long term stock. However, I don't want to buy a stock today if I can get it around the same price in a months time. For that reason I have no interest in Oceanic now. I will use my money for those stocks that if I don't get today, getting them at current prices go become palava.

So I no talk say Oceanic no be better stock o. They don't get any better but make I go catch the train wey dey ready to depart instead make I siddon inside coach of train wey them still dey fix the engine  grin grin

Yes, Pumping777, your case with Oceanic is very well understood. I share the same sentiments with you. Oceanic even knows that its price will drop even lower hence the enticement of the interim dividend, because with the new uniform end of year policy for the banks, Oceanic may not release result until about 15 months time. You are very correct.

But still my question - If you were to buy stocks based on yesterday's behavior of the market, WHICH ONES WOULD PUMPING777 BUY FOR:

SHORT TERM
MEDIUM TERM
LONG TERM

WE de wait grin grin grin grin
