False. Best way is to follow manufacturer's instruction. Fluid check procedures may vary slightly from model to model, year to year, and brand to brand. Always check what the manual says for your own vehicle. I can't scream this loud enough. huh

Christianity EtcRe: What You Need To Know About Being "Born Again" As A Christian by Mryacks: 3:10pm On Sep 16, 2019
unstoppable51:
From FeedMeJesus.com

what does it really mean to be born again?
I am sure you are going to be finding this refreshing as you will get a clearer understanding of what it truly means to be born again.

To understand this subject of being “born again” as used among Christians today, we will have to look at the only book that talked so much about it i.e the Bible, and find out what Jesus meant when He used those terms.

Let’s take a quick look at John chapter 3 from verse 1:

Joh 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

Joh 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

The popular belief people have when they read this part of the Scripture, is that being born again has to do with being baptised in water either as an adult or an infant.

This is mostly because in verse 5, Jesus said “…Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

So they assume being born again has to do with water immersion. Once a man has been dipped in water, he has access to enter the kingdom of God. That is far from what Jesus meant here and we shall see this clearly as we proceed.

The other popular belief out there is that being born again has to do with getting your acts right and “looking serious” all the time. Once you don’t wear some type of clothes, take some type of food and drinks, don’t talk too much, don’t laugh too much and talk softly, most people would conclude you are born again.

If that is what it means to be born again, then it would mean that almost all who practice Judaism, Islam and other strict religions are born again since majority of them carry themselves around with so much piety.

But being born again is far bigger than mere physical appearance and habits. If it were about wearing a long face and appearing “serious” all the time, then God wouldn’t have given to us the Spirit of Joy in the first place.

This is because “Joy” according to the Bible, is not just what you feel in your heart. It is very very expressive. It shows in your smiles, laughter, dancing, running around, twirling and so on.

When Jesus said “except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God,” He used the Greek words “gennao anothen” translated as “born again” in English, to describe that experience.

Let’s look at those two words closely for a moment so we can get His point there.

The Greek word “Gennao” which is translated as “born” in English, actually means “to procreate,” “to father,” and also to “regenerate.”The Greeks also use the word to not only talk about conception but also the process of delivery.

The other word “Anothen” translated as “again” in English actually means “from above” or “Anew.”

If you put the words together now, it would mean that what Jesus said to Nicodemus was “except a man is procreated or fathered anew from above, he cannot see or enter the kingdom of God.”

(I guess it’s beginning to make sense. Please pay special attention from here)

This was what confused Nicodemus that made him ask if it would take a man’s mum to conceive and give birth to him again for that to happen.

Jesus then had to explain further by saying in verse 5 “…except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

The major reason we don’t always get the real meaning of this verse and assume it is talking about water baptism, is because we don’t know the word “and” in that verse is not a conjunction but an explanation.

In the Greek, the word translated as “and” in our Bibles is the word “kai.”

“Kai” in Greek do not always mean “and” like the Bible translators put it in that verse. It also mean “that is,” “which is,” “even” etc. It used for explaining a statement.

To get the explanation Jesus was trying to pass across to Nicodemus in that verse 5, we would need to substitute “and” there with “which is” or “that is” since they are the same in the Greek. If we do that, the verse will look like this:

“.….except a man be born of water which is the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

(I hope you get this.)

He merely used water to describe the character of the Spirit of God there. He wasn’t talking about water baptism there at all.

That is why all through the remaining verses in that chapter, He never mentioned “water” again as regarding being born again but kept on repeating “the Spirit.”

This is not the only time He even used water to describe the activity of the Holy Spirit in the entire Bible. For instance in John 7:37-39

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

“(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”

Look at that. You know it would sound ridiculous today if you carry a physical cup and go around expecting Jesus to give you real water to drink because you read “if any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink”?

Why will it sound ridiculous? It is because the writer of that verse being John the apostle, has already helped you in verse 39 by telling you that the water Jesus was talking about in those verses was merely a reference to the Spirit of God.

So when you hear or read about being born again, do not assume that it is about being immersed in any physical water or quitting any habit. It is not just that.

To be born again simply means to be supernaturally procreated or birthed by the Spirit of God. And by the reason of that birth (not your piety or self righteousness), you have direct access to heaven.

So, a born again man is that fellow that have been supernaturally procreated by the Spirit of God. His citizenship is in heaven.

He is not aspiring to go to heaven. Heaven is where he is seated already according to Ephesians 2:5-6.

Calling him a “candidate” of heaven will be to talk down or talk less of who he really is. He is a “citizen” of heaven, not a candidate that is still aspiring and may likely not get there.

Should he live right and reflect the character of the Spirit in his conducts? YES

Can he miss it atimes? Yes he can, and that is because we still move about in this fallen world.

But can his missing to conduct himself properly cause him to be un-born again? There is no such a thing as being un-born again in the Bible. It is either a man is born again or he is not. That is what the Bible teaches.

So from John 3, we see clearly that to be born again is a supernatural thing done by the Spirit of God.

Man’s only part in that process is to believe the Gospel. Once he is born again, the Spirit of God begins to work on his inside helping him to live and do the will of God on this earth as he is supposed.

I hope this blesses you.

Glory to God!

PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria Cannot Afford A Stand-Off With South Africa By Kakanda (Al-jazeera) by Mryacks: 3:00pm On Sep 16, 2019
meavox:
WHY NIGERIA CANNOT AFFORD A STAND-OFF WITH SOUTH AFRICA - by Gimba Kakanda
Al-Jazeera, Opinion
9 Sept 2019

Today Abuja addresses Pretoria from a position of weakness.

Since the images and videos of the maiming and killing of black foreigners in South Africa began to emerge on various social media platforms last week, Nigeria has been an emotionally frayed place. Tens of thousands of Nigerians live in South African cities and in recent years, they have become frequent targets of xenophobic attacks.

This time, anger in Nigeria boiled over and young Nigerians took to the streets protesting South African aggression and unleashing some of their own on South African-owned businesses.

The Nigerian government felt pressured to act and subsequently recalled its ambassador from Pretoria and announced it was pulling out of the World Economic Forum meeting on Africa which was held in Cape Town. While some Nigerians welcomed the move, others thought it was not enough and called on their government to intervene and rescue its citizens.

Examples abound of powerful countries going to great lengths to protect and repatriate their citizens who have faced danger abroad.

But Nigeria is not one of them. Indeed, in the past, the country has stood its ground on a number of occasions when defending its national interests. In the 1960s, for example, Nigeria had a face-off with France over the latter's continuous tests of nuclear weapons in the Sahara desert. The government of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa acted decisively, breaking diplomatic relations with Paris, expelling the French ambassador and imposing a full embargo on French goods.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Nigeria led the international effort to isolate and pressure the apartheid regime in South Africa. It threatened economic action against Western powers for refusing to sanction the regime and supported the national liberation movements in Southern Africa, including the African Nation Congress (ANC), with millions of dollars annually.

In the 1990s, the country, under the leadership of military ruler Sani Abacha, defied international sanctions and welcomed a visit by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. It also directly intervened in the Liberian civil war, dispatching Nigerian troops to fight.

Most of the reactions to the violent attacks on Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa reflect a yearning for Abacha-style diplomacy. But as recent developments in its relations with the United States demonstrated, Nigeria can no longer wield such diplomatic power. Last month, the Nigerian government was spectacularly quick to react to the US's reciprocal rise in visa fees by reducing the charge for Americans applying for a visa to enter the country. And last year President Muhammadu Buhari decided to "keep quiet" on President Donald Trump's alleged "s***hole" remark about African nations.

At present, it is clear Nigeria does not have the military, the intelligence capability or the diplomatic clout to pursue a serious escalation against even a regional power, such as South Africa.

This diplomatic "standoff" with Pretoria has exposed the weakness Abuja has masked in parading itself as a self-styled "Giant of Africa". South Africa used to be a bully that Nigeria could restrain through its support for proxies inside the country and its neighbourhood. But since the end apartheid, this relationship has evolved into a regional competition, which Pretoria is winning.

After the sanctions and international isolation were lifted, South Africa quickly became the continent's more favoured ally of developed economies and foreign investors. Pretoria emerged as the recipient of the largest share of foreign direct investment in sub-Saharan Africa and in 2011 joined the BRIC countries in an economic pact formed to challenge the domination of Western economic policy.

It is also an important trading partner that Nigeria cannot afford to lose. South African businesses have major investments in the country, including the DSTV cable service, MTN telecom, the Shoprite supermarket chain and others. Nigeria exports $3.83bn worth of goods, mostly oil and oil products, to South Africa. By contrast, it imports just $514.3m of South African products, which accounts for less than one percent of total South African exports.

The more contrasting feature of the two economies, and which again highlights Nigeria's weakness is that while Abuja levers around a commodity-dependent economy, Pretoria has built a highly-diversified economy with a superior industrial structure. In other words, Nigeria needs South Africa economically, much more than South Africa needs Nigeria.

Nigeria's geopolitical power has also waned in recent years, while South Africa has remained a major regional power. Abuja has been battling with a rebellion in the north for years and has struggled to put a stop to flares of tribal violence regularly killing dozens of people. In its neighbourhood, Nigeria continues to feel largely insecure, surrounded by Francophone countries whose allegiances to France threaten the commitment of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to stability and non-aggression in the region.

The Nigerian government has also been unable to muster enough influence in the West to become a trusted partner. In 2014, the Obama administration, for example, blocked the sale of arms to the Nigerian military. The Trump administration decided to proceed with it but under heavy conditions which Nigerian officials have deemed "unacceptable". Western reluctance to sell weapons to Abuja has pressed it to seek arms on the black market. South Africa has embarrassed it twice in recent years by intercepting large arms shipment bound for Nigeria.

In this sense, the Nigerian government cannot do anything about the violence against its citizens in South Africa beyond making a few symbolic diplomatic moves and bringing up once again the Nigerian role in liberating South Africans from its white oppressors. It is clear that in doing so it is addressing Pretoria from the position of weakness.

Indeed, using persistent references to sub-Saharan African commonality and solidarity as a result of shared history, race and geography is not an effective foreign policy tool.

The idea of One Africa is a farce taken too far, and successive Nigerian elites have pandered to this fantasy to the detriment of national interests. The legacy of this pan-African misadventure is a geopolitically weak Nigeria which cannot stand up to for itself and for its citizens

This very much has to do with mismanagement of the economy. The redemption Nigeria needs is one that moves the country away from dependence on oil exports, foreign imports and interventions and towards diversification and industrialisation. We cannot afford to glorify the idea of producing pencils in the age of artificial intelligence any more.

Only if the country becomes materially secure and industrially productive will it be able to regain its soft power and international clout and stand up to the old bullies in its neighbourhood.

Christianity EtcRe: Rev Father Kelvin Ugwu: Understanding The Significance Of First Fruit And Tithes by Mryacks: 10:33am On Sep 03, 2019
Builderman:
Some years back, after a Sunday morning Mass in Abuja, a young and a good looking lady walked up to me. She was holding a fat brown envelope. She handed the envelope to me and said I should please pray for her.

I asked her about the content of the envelope and what particular intention would I be praying for?
She told me that she started working just a month ago and that she came to thank the Lord and to offer the first fruit of her work for God’s blessings.
What was in the envelope was her salary for that month. Her first salary. The entire money! Everything!.

In all honesty, I was speechless not for lack of words but for being unable to know where to begin. Inside me I was like: do people still entrust everything they have to God in a child-like simplicity like this? I was really moved.

In my heart, I said a prayer for her, that type of prayer that is deep down, it was as though it was the Holy Spirit Himself that was praying through me. I was feeling the answers to the prayers even before I finished praying.

Then she knelt down, I laid my hands upon her and blessed her and the money.

After prayers, I asked her to tell me how much was in the envelope. She said Eighty Thousand Naira.

Then I asked, “how much covers your transport to your work daily?”.

She said “approximately N1,000 naira to and fro, Father.” That means for 27 work days, it would be N27,000.

Then I spoke up again, “Sorry o, I am asking you too many questions, how much do you feed daily when you go to work?”.
She answered “It depends. If I want to eat so well, I spend 800 naira with drinks, but mainly I spend just N500, and sometimes I carry food from home.”

So, I made the calculation in my head. Let say she spends 500 naira daily, 27 work days would be 13,500 naira.
I went ahead to enquire about her accommodation and I discovered that she stayed alone in an apartment she just rented. We made the calculation by dividing the annual rent by 12 months and we discovered that if she was to pay rent monthly, it would be N12,500.

Her monthly electricity and water bill with other fees for house maintenance was put at N10,000....On phone calls and data, we approximated it to be N5000 monthly. Her monthly DSTV subscription was around N3,600 for DSTV family bouquet.

When you put all the expenses together and subtract it from the N80,000, she would be left with N8,400 to buy food stuffs and other things in the house.
These are the expenses that she wss sure to spend every month. We had not even talked about other things like make up, doing her hair, clothes, gifts to family and even savings.
This is a huge sacrifice, in my judgement. I intentionally asked her those questions so as to ascertain the depth of her sacrifice.

I brought out the envelope, bless it for the second time and gave it to her. I looked at her countenance and I knew she was not too comfortable with my action. Then I took time to explain the Bible to her. That was when I discovered that so many people do not truly understand how God works.

When God asks us for first fruit or for tithe or for any sacrifice, it is not so that He will eat it. No! He has no need of our money. When He asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, it was not because he liked seeing the blood of innocent children.

When He asked Abel and Cain to make a sacrifice to Him, it was not because he ate fruit or even drank blood of rams. It is simply to test how committed we are, how willing are we to leave everything to Him. Do we, like Cain, select offerings that we no longer desire and give to Him or do we, like Abel, empty everything to Him?

This lady that brought the first fruit began to understand for the first time. Right from when she put the money in the envelope to bring to God, God had already accepted her offering. The minister must not spend the money. It is just that most of us ministers are unfortunately greedy. And we use God’s name to cover it up. We often see the part of scriptures that favour our stomach.*

Theologically, when you give to God, He transforms that gift and gives it back to you. The bread and wine people offer before mass are transformed to the body and blood of Christ and given back to the people to eat and drink.

The son Isaac that Abraham gave to God, was transformed to be a channel that would bring....forth the fulfillment of God’s promise and given back to Abraham.
The offerings of bread and fish people brought were prayed upon and given back to them to eat and they were filled, still there was left over.

The water they filled at the wedding in Cana is given back to them as wine..
The Ugwu Kelvin that my parents offered to God, is given back to them as a priest.

The money that the young lady brought to me as her first fruit is blessed and given back to her as pure gift from heaven.

FamilyRe: Choosing The Right Man And Staying Married by Mryacks: 8:40pm On Sep 02, 2019
yemisolar:
@ op, for a responsible man, it's actually more difficult finding the right person because he is majorly responsible for his actions especially if he intends to stay in the marriage without cheating.

Because there is no perfect human beings anywhere there is no perfect marriage anywhere. Working marriages are just two people who decide to be realistic in their expectations and are committed to making it work.

My dear, if you define 'luck' as preparation meeting opportunity then you are right. But the question is , how many people truly prepare for the institution of marriage? What we see these days is two people start having sex and the lady gets pregnant and the next thing is a rushed wedding ceremony.

Singles do not read, listen to tapes of watch videos that will give them information on how to make marriage work. On one side they will rather stay on Instagram and Facebook achieving nothing. On the other side they will keep praying and and dashing from one vigil to another.

Marriage is the truest test of anyone's character. And it takes commitment and maturity to make it work. Sadly these are not virtues that are extolled today. Even in churches. So men (and I dare say women) who have no good intentions find their way to lure the naive.

Just as you see all manner of adverts on television advertising different products and you choose which one you need, you will always see numerous inbox messages. This is not abnormal.

What you need to do is set your minimum ground rules of deal breakers such as faith, age, education etc (whichever is important to you). This will weed out a good chunk. Then you can begin to look at character flews that you can or can't live with. Also you need a father figure (not necessarily your father) or a male you can trust his judgement to help out. The reason is that there are always blind spots in relationships and you need a trusted eye to see it.

Lastly, there is the God factor, because of our imperfect nature, we need the one with a perfect mind to help you and give the wisdom when the rubber meets the road.

Believe me marriage can be one of the best things that can happen to one. I am a living witness.
This is a fantastic write up...well done!

One of the worst damages that is being done to the Nigerian image abroad is not the fraudulent acts perpetrated by some of its citizens per se, it is the mindless battle between cyber warriors, disgruntled citizens and political e-rats, trying to outdo one another, in their support of their favored candidates and political paymasters.

We are definitely not the most corrupt people in the world, but we are probably one of the most materially flashy, socially noisy and verbally toxic online. We are also one of the most negative minded citizens of any country, in the entire universe.

What we fail to realize is that, the internet is a global data collection and indoctrination system. The narratives we input into it will always comes back to either elevate our status globally, or bite us in the ass.

There are so many Nigerians doing great things in medicine, tech, sports, law, business, governance and many more fields, all over the world, but there are not enough platforms to promote these much needed positive narratives.

We will keep suffering indignity and shameful treatments at international airports and borders all over the world, until we understand that there is no country on earth that doesn't have its share of crimes and criminals, in various proportions.

They just don't let it define them and they don't openly show incredible disdain for their country on the internet while bemoaning that same disdain others show them for the same reason.

We will be alright las las!

Women are naturally confused being and insatiable... They don't know what they want and don't trust themselves.

It's only a woman that will have a wardrobe filled with cloth and yet can decide what to wear.

Only a woman will tell u they need a kind, caring, God fearing and honest guy yet they will neglect good guys settle for the bad guys cos they good guy is too soft.

CelebritiesRe: Toke Makinwa: I Send My Raunchy Pictures To My Man Anytime He Is Angry by Mryacks: 12:52pm On Aug 26, 2019
Rebuke:
Smh. I don't really know what makes some of these so called celebrities feel relevant.

I have no atom of respect for any lady who has no moral standard. If yhu like be the most beautiful and the richest lady on earth, so long as yhu don't know what decency is, yhu are so irrelevant to me.

Unfortunately, most of our youths these days glorify indecency, they praise n adore women who dress scantily and speak rubbish.

It's so hard these days to find decent youths. everybody now has his or her own definition of decency. And the "judge me not" syndrome won't let them pay attention to truths.

These ladies display and teach nothing than immorality yet some people will jump to defend them because their immoral and lustful heart is entertained by them (indecent ladies).

I will make sure my children don't know anything about the existence of some of these decaying so called celebrities not to even think of idolising them as we have some kids do these days.

Lost generation!
So true mahn. Cheers
Christianity EtcRe: The Most Important Reason Why You Should Become A Christian For Real by Mryacks: 12:12pm On Aug 26, 2019
EternalBeing:
Christianity is more than just going to Church every Sunday, or just praying every morning when you wake up and every night before you close your eyes to sleep. Christianity is being dead to the "lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life", and being alive in the Jesus Christ which allows the Holy Spirit to live through you by using you to impart this World for good according to His Will.

I got born again years ago through the preaching of Pastor W.F. Kumuyi that I heard. Imagine if Kumuyi refused to give up sinful life for his current life of Holiness that brought me and million others to salvation in Christ, I was strongly on a particular path already which guaranteed I would have been an armed robber that would have killed so many by now, and maybe would have been killed too. I wonder how many millions around the World, who were in similar situation as mine, got converted by the eternal truth that God used this man and his likes to reveal. So, the most important reason why you should become a real Christian is not just for the salvation of your soul and the reward of living forever that follows, but for the sake of those destinies that are tied to your salvation.

It should be noted that it is currently extremely difficult in this end time Generation, if not utterly impossible, for a human to fulfill his/her God-given glorious Destiny without the help and intervention of our Creator, which can never come without us being Holy; Hebrews 12:14 "... Holiness, without which no one will see the Lord" . Holiness is the prerequisite for us to be supernaturally empowered to triumph over the whiles of this World. Satan uses trials of life to fight many innately glorious people into submission and worship of himself in order to use the special gifts that God created into them to destroy humanity and pervert the Purpose of God for the World. Becoming a real Christian, with holiness within and without, is the only way to triumph and fulfill your glorious Destiny in accordance with the original Purpose for which God created you. Not matter the trials, don't ever jettison your original for the fake quick fix glory that Satan offers in exchange for your eternal Soul. Grace of God keep us unto eternity in Christ in Jesus Name.
