WORD FOR TODAY
Every temptation either comes as lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. The Lord will not place something serious in the hands of a man until he through the help of God overcomes the lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and pride of life!!!

Scriptural Reference
"For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world." (1John 2:16 NKJV)

The major component of worldliness is actually lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. There is no man who has a soft spot for worldliness that will ever overcome temptation. The test the devil will place before you at every point in time will always be in terms of lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

Satan tempted the Lord Jesus using these parameters: turning of stone to bread (lust of the flesh), bowing down to worship the devil in exchange for the glory of this world (the lust of the eyes), and throwing himself down from the pinnacle of the temple because there is a promise of an angelic backing (the pride of life).

The devil is not ignorant of our weakness as men, for he knows that an ordinary man is weak in the face of lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Hence, the only way to overcome temptation is to come after Jesus by denying himself, taking up his cross and walking in his steps (Luke 9:23)

Lord! I receive the grace to overcome every temptation by denying myself, taking up my cross daily and walking in your steps in Jesus name. Amen

Marriage is a union of two forgivers and not for those who seek escape from seemingly depressed part of the whole.

Unpleasantness in marriage are meant to sharpen us and prepare us for better time.

Paul begins this writing by lovingly pleading with us like parents would plead with their adult kids, to present our bodies a living sacrifice to God.

This has to do with our daily life. We are to present our bodies holy and acceptable to God.

The “present’ there has to do with seeing and agreeing that your body has been made holy and acceptable unto God, and then walking that way on earth.

That is, you are to see that your body is not some dirty, old, rejected and empty vessel. It is holy, acceptable unto God, filled with His Spirit and owned by Him.

Having known this, you are to walk on this earth as someone who is carrying God in his body.
As someone whose body is a holy temple to God, you are to let that holiness manifest in your relationships, conversations, appearance and daily activities.

You are to yield your body as an instrument of righteousness, not allowing your attitude or lifestyle to become a mockery of the Gospel you have believed and profess.

As lights in the world, you are to shine and let men in darkness find their way to God through you.

How can you do this effortlessly? Verse 2 of that Romans 12 gives us a clue. It says it is via the renewal of your mind.

The renewal of the mind there has to do with a constant meditation on the Word till it forms a thought pattern within you that is good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

The thought pattern then forms a deep conviction within you that cannot be easily swayed.

This conviction determines how you act, respond to others and go about fulfilling God’s will on the earth.

So you want to present your body a living sacrifice to God? Start with renewing your mind first.

Say to yourself the things God in His Word has spoken concerning you.

“I have been made righteous through Christ so I live righteously.

“Grace has been given to me so I am gracious toward others.

“I am the Light of the world, darkness and evil is not permitted around me.

“I am dead to sin so it is no longer at work within me.

“I am an ambassador of Christ so I let my lifestyle reflect this. Glory to God!”

When you make a conscious effort to affirm the things the Word has said about the righteous nature you now have in Christ, you will see yourself living more righteous unconsciously than you would on purpose.

You can't blame the high rate of suicide on the production of sniper. The manufacturers made the product for domestic rodents and insects.

Ban Sniper, and people will find something else to commit suicide with.

Depression and Hopelessness are the major causes of Suicide. And believe me, the moral decay in our contemporary society adds to those factors. The economy is bad, people are losing jobs, families are separating, people no longer respect relationships and the social media is Making life seem it's about the cars, houses and jobs. When events, situations and circumstances leave you empty and void, and things you've fed your thoughts on, can fill the emptiness and void, or you may see nothing worth holding onto in Life.

When all the happiness you have in life is derived from money, wealth, academic attainment, family, etc, you never can escape depression, when you lose those things.

Give your existence more essence and you'll never contemplate suicide. The Holy scripture puts it that, "If in this life alone we have hope, we are of all men most miserable".

I wish we could go back to the days when Religious organizations paid attention to issues of the soul. Today, it is quite pathetic that you can get depressed right inside the Church.

When there's life, there's hope. I've seen people get healthy from cancer and life threatening issues. I've seen family reunite after decades of separation. I've seen wealthy people come out of excruciating poverty.

I remember the day I clock 30 two years ago. I didnt go out that day, just angry with myself about my journey in life so far, no any reasonable job, no investment to show for it, no kids or wife to lean on, in fact no any tangible achievement. Just a life of misery and the thought of when ll I help myself and others around me but then life has a way of rewarding people who persevere to the end.
Thank God I'm moving gradually.
