blackmann: That front gate is usually a deadly place for the students. During my days as a student in Lautech we had numerous loss of lives there and several riots. Vehicles speeding from Ilorin don't even bother slowing down when the approach that area. It got to a point the skool closed that gate permanently and all students used the Under-G road (the back entrance).I dont know why schools are sited along busy roads in nigeria, even primary schools. Why dont they locate schools off main roads - places that are quiet and conducive for learning. Lautech has had so many of its students killed right in front of the school's main gate that to even close that gate permanently wont be too much to save lives. All this rioting is uncalled for - the students should rather suggest ways to end the wanton slaughter. |
The Navy were patrolling the creeks doing the job and crude oil production plummeted to 1.75 million barrels per day. Since the contract was given to Tompolo, crude production has risen to 2.5 million barrels per day. Does that tell you anything? Think and research before you hit your keyboard.
Why wont it be so. When GEJ starves the Navy of fund but pump money to tompolo. |
In the fight against boko haram the military option has failed, so what option remains other than a non-violent approach. In Afghanistan, Americans have only realised the fact that force is not always the winner after 10 years of bloodshed and are now talking with the taliban. Do those talking force-only with boko haram want the bloodshed to continue for 10 years in nigeria before FG ends it - by talking? |

katordidi: no sensible person agrees. Wat military action? its clear boko haram is bigger than that JTF. Jonathan should put all nigeria has into this fight.. If possible enlist help from the U.N or the USA amnesty will encourage other groupsJTF is not disciplined enough to subdue boko haram, not with their incessant killing of innocent people all over the place, people who shoulld be part of the fight against boko haram. As for eliciting US support, forget it - Americans know the limit of force as they are now talking to taliban after fighting them for ten years. FG should not wait 10 years to resolve the boko haram crisis. |
clip: Please note, I am not in support of amnesty for Boko Haram. But the question is, what alternative do we have as a country to solve this problem? The alternative of violence is peace. Offer of amnesty is most sensible in the present circumstance, because military approach has failed and infact is creating more problems, not with the killing of innocent people by both boko haram and JTF. |
Maxymilliano: Not trying to question her sincerity on the burning boko haram issue but I never heard Madam Turai's voice when innocent citizens from the South/Southeast were being massacred in the North?Stop being sentimental. It's pretty clear that the military option cannot resolve the issue. In fact, the top security chiefs are only feeding fat on the crisis, thanks to the one trillion naira defence budget.Since force has failed, why not try other options? -that's what Turai is suggesting. And every sensible person agrees. |
There are lots of honest people in this country. I mysef hav returned a lost phone to d owner before. I was by d roadside when i saw a phone dropped from d back pocket of a passenger on a motorbike. I picked the handset and after trying some numbers on d phonebook i got d owner, who came to my office to collect it. D guy told me he was a phone repairer and that he would hav been in trouble with the real owner of d phone - and this was a boy who had been looking for admission into university for 4 years, just managing with handset repairs in d meantime. On another occassion i alerted a man who dropped his phone while alighting from his car. We are not reported that`s why u dont hear stories like this. |
Is she truly going abroad for medical reasons or using d trip as smokescreen to siphon our money? She laundered public money when gej was governor and from d look of things she is still in this criminal biz. |
HNosegbe: Exactly. I really doubt that figure... That's almost Nigeria's current GDP!!!Abacha looted but so also did many others. Let us also recover Gej loot, Obj loot, Pej loot, asiwaju loot etc. Abacha loot should not be used to distract public attention from other looters. |
nig2change: Everyday, I keep wondering that without an effective database our police still succeeds. I think our detectives are doing great if not bad eggs amongst them.. Never underestimate the nigeria police - they would perform against all odds if they want to work, but sadly in most cases they are unwilling to do their work at all or do a shoddy job. |
Rexxie: YES O AND GEJ MUST EMERGE WINNER OR ELSE ITS CURTAINS WITH THIS GOING,GOING ALMOST GONE FALSEHOOD CALLED nIGERIA.. |
dahonestboss: which one be free and fair? abi any country de wey de charge money to vote from its citizen? Fair should be enoughNa inglis him speak now, no be pidgin. lol. |
Murdered by his own people! Religion of "peace" at it again.
. A born again has spoken. |
. Those callling gej retardeen may well be right. Gej pardoned bello mogaji, a man married with two wives, convicted for drugging and then sodomizing underaged school boys. Is this not insanity? ? Be not deceived it is the president that grants pardon under the constitution,he merely consults with council of state but he is not bound to agree with them. Nobody could have smuggled bello magaji"s name into the list except gej himself. |
. Thank u for this factual assessment of the kano bomb blast. I believe the bombers whether boko haram or not targeted the motor park itself maybe to embarass the govt and show that they are still able to strike, but many igbo people just happen to be around that spot. Certainly millions of igbos live in the north and will continue to live there. Those calling for mass return to SE chose to ignore the fact that it is impossible unless they want anarchy in their already densely populated region. |
Tolexander: The Ndigbo will be claiming they don't like Abacha. They chose June 8 (the day abacha died) to mourn abacha pretending to use it to mourn bomb blast victims.. Abacha never killed igbo people. Those who wanted to kill Abacha he acted ahead of them - simple. |
see this malian?
. How many niger citizens are in our prisons. Nigeriens are all over the country; their simple lifestyle does not dispose them to crime like your people who will kidnap, rob, kill, do 419 etc for money. |
okosodo: They are over 25 million in the north, the authorities in charge should go after them. Go after them ke. These people from niger republic have always moved back and forth btw their country and nigeria for centuries in search of menial jobs. They may be poor but they are not known to engage in disturbing criminal activities. Let us not deceive ourselves boko haram are almost all citizens of the federal republic of nigeria. |
Is this mumu not supposed to be in jail? I tire for Nigeria ooo
Absolutely. A common criminal/area boy/thug/murderer once a most wanted criminal now prefix "Dr" to his name and is threatening to unleash a reign of terror. He may get away with anything he does as before because politicians court him to provide them with armed thugs. Fg should handle this criminal now b4 he causes mayhem - if oodua start attacking northerners in sw expect counter reaction in the north. |
dack7: I am an ardent admirer of this eloquent elder statesman, may he live long to correct the mistakes made by this our useless northern bigots.Just read your post again. You sure sound like the originator of the rumour. |
The Daar Communication IPO was a fraud. Unfortunate that u are a victim of Raymond Dokpesi scam contrived in collusion with SEC. |
And her abductors, left just like that? |
All of you attacking MTN should know that these cunning South Africans will get that money back in minutes by stealing from subscribers credit. And NCC wont give a damn. |
Do they expect Achebe to live forever? An 82 year-old has died peacefully and these two noise makers are talking crap. |
graluxxy054: Thank God I'm done with my schooling and safely in the East b4 all these madness started. My main concern now is how I'll collect my original WAEC result. Its almost a decade since I left Adamawa. I'm so disappointed with what's happening there nowFrom frying-pan into fire.Hope u are doing your best to outsmart kidnappers, armed robbers, ritualists and other evil people that abound in the east. |
Ayishatreal: @ moderators, if there is anything you can do from stoping this jobless people from posting insultive comments on Muslim blogs again, pls do cos this is getin out of hands. Why do u bother urself; the posters are only exhibiting their uncouthness. Besides, what will the insult do to Islam when Allah will forever exalt His religion. |
not2long: Bull shiit, as if those things don't happpen before the advent of islamThese things were not happening in the Islamic society at that time of the Prophet. When they begin to happen among the muslim community that's when the end should be expected. The prophet speaks under Allah's guidance so can never be wrong . |
rafhell: What the difference between lime and lemonLime is almost always yellow with a smooth skin while lemon is green with coarse skin. That's the visual difference for the local variety (imported once look alike and are sold in big super markets, bigger and expensive). if you ar still not sure of the difference just go to the market & see things for yourself. |
We should also not forget that boko haram insurgency is not the only security challenge confronting the country. in fact BH poses less challenge than kidnapping, armed robbery and oil pipeline vandalism. Even if all bh activities stopped today where is the guarantee thst one can sleep peacefully in his house or travel on the road without the usual fear & uncertainty of robbers/hoodlums. As for boko haram, the expert opinion is that military force alone cannot end it and this much is obvious to anybody with objective mind. Our govts (fg, states and lgs) must adopt a multi-faceted approach to end all the country's security challenges. The social, economic and political issues behind these challenges cannot be ignored any longer. |
Hypocrisy at its worst. Are they saying they only guarantee violence? But violence in the east against few hausas their will be unwise becos it will provoke counter reaction in the north where millions of igbo are earning their livelihood. The kano bombing took innocent lives including hausa and igbos, muslims and xtians - ethnicising the casuality is most uncharitable. Fg should takle security challenges facing the country more seriously - that`s the only way forward. |
tonididdy: them get sense? |
