taharqa: Reading dis report, my take of what I hv considerd as d WEAKEST LINK in d Fight against Corruptn in Nigeria, has bn reenforced ie THE JUDICIARY... As d article indicatd, Many cases already in courts, important laws like d FOI hv bn passd, important tactics like Removal of Police Roadblocks and d Govt increasingly EXPOSING and OPENING up both Past and Ongoing Scams- yet d Perceptn of Corruptn is still unacceptably high. There is REAL need for COMPLETE Judicial Overhaul (esp its Speed and Efficiency), a process that shld be led by d President and those in oda Arms of Govt who shld be put unda Pressure by those people in d Public who are actuali interestd in 'Fighting' Corruptn for d Sake of d Nation and for themselves instead of using it as a TOOL; a situatn where Cases (whether Corruptn relatd ones Or Not) spend Ages in court shld is Unacceptable and be STOPPED. The Appointment of Special Judges (or Courts) for Corruptn Cases, which has bn demanded by MOST including AntiCorruptn Agencies, shld be done by d CJN Asap..... The President surely ought to do MORE, or rather Led, in what shld be a National DISPASSIONATE Fight against Corruptn and Insecurity
Nigeria is trapped in a vicious cycle. Politicians nominate persons to be appointed judges by the NJC. Since politicians are corrupt they will nominate only people of their ilk to be appointed judges. Once in office, corrupt judges protect corrupt politicians.
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Had A Killer Squad As President -- Former Associate by mu2sa2: 2:54pm On Apr 21, 2013
GenBuhari: Why do they have to drag Abacha's name into it?

There were no more than two unsolved murders during Abacha's rule whilst there were dozens of unsolved murders during Obasanjo's rule.

Ironically the only murder Obasanjo "resolved" was that of Kudirat Abiola, which occured during Abacha's rule approx 3years before he started his investigation.
Abacha was not a murderer as SW tribalists and newspapers owned by them have depicted him. Diya plotted against him, but as a humane person Abacha let him go (remember the hanky to tearful Diya). The kudirat Abiola killing has never been linked to Abacha himself - in any case the woman wanted Abacha dead, but she got a dose of her own medicine. Abacha, hate or like him, was one of nigeria's greatest heros. Only tribalists and fake democrats are trying to besmirch him.

igbsam: How True is this ?
The rank and file of the Nigeria Police sadly is a victim of the obnoxious system under which it works. Look closely at the sleeping police men, dont they look hungry and worn out? Maybe they have not received their salaries for two months. It is common for police men to buy fuel themselves for their official vehicles without being reimbursed. If American police is treated like this the officers would also not perform.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Caught And Arrested by mu2sa2: 11:26am On Apr 20, 2013
There's too much media hype about the Boston bombing. Bad as it is, worse atrocities are being committed around the world that hardly get mentioned. The US itself kills about 20 innocent people weekly using drones and that doesnt get mentioned. The families of those murdered by the drones are grieving too and looking forward to avenge their deaths. RIP to all victims of violence around the world.
Politics › Re: Fasehun And I Proposed For S’west Pipeline Security Contract – Gani Adams by mu2sa2: 11:05am On Apr 20, 2013
The truth is that OPC members are thick on the ground and active, for good or bad. This reality can not be ignored and i think Tinubu realised this and now GEJ. What is certain is that politicians use them - as body guards or for thuggery. They are far more effective than the regular security forces because they operate under law and since politicians are lawless themselves they are bed fellows. Much as some will dislike the idea of OPC being given the pipeline security job, it's likely Gej will for two reasons. First, to secure the support of the OPC and thru them make inroad into ACN stronghold. Second reason is, to balance the equation - those criticizing Gej for rewarding the niger delta militants will be silenced.

ighoosagie: Jose mujica, Uruguay president still drive d cheapest car on earth. He gives 90% of his money to charity
Jose Mujica, current President of Uruguay, impresses me more than the billionares mentioned. As a president he rejected the presidential palace and chose to live with his wife in a modest farm house. Can u imagine, giving 90% of his salary to charity! Unbelievable, when our president, GEJ, is even concealing what he has accummulated. Jose Mujica spent 13 years in prison and yet holds no bitterness nor urge to steal public fund as nigerian leaders, their wives and chronies do. He is a shinning example for humanity today - even the pleasure-seeking, private jet owning religious hypocrites have alot to learn from him. You are Blessed President Jose Mujica.
Health › Re: Give 2yrs In Between Pregnancies: Gynaecologist Advises by mu2sa2:
Every now and then the infallibility of the word of God is proven even to the doubting Thomases. Over 1600 years ago God guided humanity with these words in Quran 46:15

" And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and WEANING [period] is thirty months..."

The weaning period for a baby by God's plan is 2 years and six months. This doctor's prescription is even short of 6 months. But all the same, if you follow God's plan you will see that everything goes well with you. Any woman who's getting pregnant after 30 months from the birth of her last child can never be weakened by chidbearing. This is plain truth - but humans would rather ignore the Words of the Almighty God, the Creator of everything in heavens and earth. And suffer the consequences.

Nairaland posters beware. Gej's henchmen on the prowl. Only praise Gej; for to criticize him is to go to jail. Gej can do no wrong!!!!!

Anybody talking somebody wants to islamise nigeria should go for check-up at Aro before it's too late. What do they mean by islamise nigeria? Can anybody force islam on anyone? The nigerian constitution is clear on freedom of religion. How does anyone even begin to islamise nigeria. Hypocrites, may your evil thoughts perish with u so that we can live in peace in nigeria, our dear native land.
Politics › Re: Transparency International Disowns Transparency In Nigerian Organisation by mu2sa2: 2:39pm On Apr 14, 2013
Transparency International is trying to discredit Transparency in Nigeria. Is Transparency in Nigeria the same as Transparency International? Clearly not - in fact the former can sue for libel. Transparency in Nigeria should continue with its good works unperturbed. To hell with Transparency International, maybe they have succumbed to "naira power".

chukxie: There's nothing we will say here that will deter those blood sucking brainwashed monsters from carrying out their next target. The only person capable of bringing those monsters to their knees is GEJ . He needs to take a decisive and firm handed action against those animals. Until he does that we will keep hearing gory news like this everyday! Wake up from your slumber, GEJ! Too many innocent souls have been wasted for nothing. How many more need to die before you do something to stem the tide of Boko boys?
Gej has two options - continue to pursue the use of military force or negotiate a settlement. For now the military option has failed. What we see is killing of innocent people by both boko haram and JTF. in fact JTF is reported to be killing more innocent people than bh. JTF activities has resulted in the dispersal of bh terrorists away from their maiduguri stronghold to virtually all parts of borno state and also yobe, adamawa, taraba, kano. JTF men are indisciplined and frustrated.Force has its limitations, even Americans hav realised this fact in Afghanistan. Clearly Gej will have to summon the political will to consider a non-violent means to end bh insurgency.
But we should also note that borno and yobe are ANPP-governed states and politics in nigeria can be violent. In fact Yobe state governor recently doubted if all the arson and killings in his state were perpetrated by bh - eg burning of the newly constructed ultra modern Pilgrims Board and schools. He seemed to be implying that the main opposition in the state has a hand in the mayhem engulfing the state and indeed the north east.

Simple thing. The part of the agreement that talks of cutting off head is illegal. But you are still under obligation to repay the loan. My advice is that if u ar not in a position to repay now arrange with the lender to reschedule repayment.

I firmly believe that what she asks of Allah is accepted because i see the result in my life. As parents ourselves we should also always pray for our children.

patriot4: Were the people bombed in their churches "caught between" boko violence and JTF violence ?
Were the people bombed in their houses caught up as well ? Were the people bombed in the bus station caught up ?
Come on stop this nonsence, boko haram is aimed at killing as much innocent people as possible, the aim of the JTF is to protect those innocent people. And your solution is not workable as it relies on faith in boko haram and menthal denial of the refusal of amnesty by boko haram. It is verry clear that to you boko haram is more legitimate than the JTF.
Man you are a big f.ool.
I can see that you are an ig.noramus. Today in maiduguri, kano, yobe and other places there two are armed belligerents - JTF and boko haram. The killings in these places are perpetrated by both of them. If JTF and boko haram were to vacate these cities all violence will stop.
Politics › Re: Why Don't We Have BBC Igbo Or Yoruba Service by mu2sa2: 7:44pm On Apr 11, 2013
BBc is owned by the British govt and has been broadcasting in hausa language for over half a century. Whether we like it or not Hausa is an international language, spoken by native speakers across west africa. It is for this reason that BBc chose Hausa. Yoruba and Igbo are local champions - no native indigenous speakers outside nigeria (except maybe Benin republic which has a small yoruba population).

1. Microbicide Trials Network.
2. Minneapolis Telecommunications Network.
3. Mobile Technology Network.
4. Main Telephone Number or
5. Maintenance.

It all depends on what you have in mind. Be more specific with your question.
This is how a first class material answers a question. "MTN" could stand for anything and this poster has given 5 possible options. I will give the poster A+ and D to those posters assuming that there is only one entity on Earth with the acronym "MTN".
Politics › Re: Boko-Haram: FG Needs Amnesty From Us Not Contrary by mu2sa2: 1:45pm On Apr 11, 2013
Boko haram believe they are on a mission to avenge the death of their members killed by security forces (jtf) and of muslims killed in so-called muslim/christian clashes across the north. They are not after money. This rejection of any amnesty offer must be seen in the context of what they claim they fighting for. The die-hards among them will reject amnesty but the majority foot soldiers can be persuaded to lay down their arms. One thing is clear, though, money does not appeal to these guys, so FG cannot use money to entice them as they did with niger delta terrorists (whose "generals" hav abandoned the "struggle" and are now living in luxury and hobnobbing with corrupt politicians in PH, lagos, Abuja). For the majority bh members amnesty offer is a good first step, but they are not going to come out and negotiate surrender or peace as some people expect. What I think will happen is that they will just stop their activities and u will see a reducton or even cessation of violence by them. If this happens JTF violence should cease as well. And innocent people caught between boko haram and JTF violence will breathe a sigh of relief.
Health › Re: HIV, CANCER Treatment: Bee Venom To The Rescue by mu2sa2:
The bee is a special insect, for it is inspired by Almighty God, who has endowed it with extra-ordinary healing powers. This Knowledge has being with us for over 1400 years. Like so many other scientific facts, the unique healing abilities of the bee came to us via the Quran. This is what God says in Quran 16:68,69 -
"And your Lord inspires the bee saying: Make hives in the mountains and in the trees and and in (men's) habitations:
Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you].
There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that
is a sign for a people who give thought."

There is a centre in Kano that has been treating HIV sufferers and claiming successful cures using ONLY honey and verses from the Quran. Orthodox doctors and indeed govt have dismissed them, but now this news from US has vindicated them. The Quran is a powerful book and to this day statements therein are unfolding everyday. God is great.
