PoliticsMy Wasted vote: I Was Not The Best candidate In 2011, Says jonathan by mufc009(op): 9:26am On Apr 15, 2012
dent Jonathan says that
God chose him for the job
even though there were
others better than him
President Goodluck Jonathan
said on Saturday in Abuja that
himself, the Vice President, and
all state governors were not the
best candidates during the 2011
general election.
The president claimed that God
selected them as leaders even
when they were not the best
materials available.
“By God's grace, this government
will not fail. I know Nigeria will
change, I always make my
supplications to God that in
selecting me as the President of
this country, the Vice President,
the Governors, members of the
National Assembly, the Ministers,
we are not the best material, but
God knows why he choose us
and we pray he should use us to
change this country,”. He said.
The president was speaking at
the Second Presidential National
Prayer Breakfast held at the
Banquet Hall of the State House,
Abuja.
Mr. Jonathan said he is fully
aware of the enormous
responsibilities placed on his
shoulders especially at a time the
country is facing serious security
challenges. He however said
that he relies on God to see him
through.
“I am aware that the task of
national transformation is a
daunting one, I am however
more aware that there is nothing
that God cannot do. With Him
on our side I am confident every
stumbling block on our way shall
become a stepping stone into
national rebirth. I assure you
that I will strive at all times for
the greatest good of the greatest
number guided always by the
fear of God,” the president said.
Mr. Jonathan said only the fear
of God and rededication to the
realisation of the ‘grand vision of
one big strong multi ethnic, multi
cultural, diverse but united
nation’ could see the nation's
leaders through the challenges
posed at these times.
“With unwavering faith in God
and renewed recommitment to
the national cause by us all, I am
confident that Nigeria will
emerge from these trying times a
stronger, more united, more
stable and more prosperous
nation,” he added.
The President of the Christian
Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo
Oritsejafor, delivered the
sermon, titled “The Power of the
Alter”.
The occasion was attended by
the former Head of state,
Yakubu Gowon; Head of the
Interim National Government,
Ernest Shonekan; the Vice
President of Kenya, Kalonzo
Musyoka; the Deputy Speaker of
the House of Representatives,
Emeka Ihedioha; and Governors
Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom,
Jonah Jang of Plateau, Peter Obi
of Anambra and Adams
Oshiomhole of Edo.
Also in attendance were some
ministers and other presidential
aides.

felix4real: I sometimes wonder how Nigerians think. Must you gain anything directly from her being World Bank Head? I think i am getting really tired of the "subjective" comments being made on Nairaland about issues that should elicit intellectual response. If you must know, some of your possible gains from her being World Bank head are:

1. Nigeria would attain some level of relevance in the international system
2. If you travel abroad, then you will be regarded with less suspicion because someone from your country (often being branded as corrupt)is heading the world's highest financial institution
3. Nigeria would get more favourable deals in terms of world bank-assisted economic programs
4. If you are an business man who imports, then your letters of credit will be scrutinized with less fervour because your economic status will receive positive assessment
5. Points 1 to 4 above will favour Nigerian businesses and and the economy in general.
6. The list is actually endless........

Note that i am not soliciting for her being president i am merely pointing out possible gains should she become president.

Stop looking at what the immediate direct gains would be and project on the broader gains of her becoming president. Consider less the picture a 5 mega-pixel camera would produce for you and start considering the limitless resolution and size the camera in your eye (your retina) can give you.

collinsfbi: Hahaha, I have always been saying it in other threads that her past role in Nigeria political activities will stand against her. Obama brilliancy is inborn, what some fools who fight in the name of tribalism cannot see obama can see it from afar. Someone who cannot control the finances of Nigerian govenment is nominated to control the world bank. It's not all about credentials and qualifications, it's all about tranparency, accountability and capability. Her role in the fuel cubsidy saga will not allow her, call NOI, madueke, Sanusi, GEJ and ask all of them how many per litre of fuel do Nigerians consume per day, they will all fumble and say different things. She collaborated with Nigerian Govt to decieve many gullible Nigerians, they use her as a tool to inflict pain on many in the name of palliative, refinery and others therafter GEJ anounced that no more palliative and FG is planning to build refinery abroad. Liesssss, she is deceitful, dishonest, egoistic, full of forceful and dangerous policies and some some think obama is gullible like some fools who called themselves Nigerians. What many gullible who are blinded by tribalism cannot see while standing and jumping, obama can see it when sitting or sleeping with eyes closed

So much noise from Kwara.

We maintain their renal patients here in Ife. I particularly had one. She had to travel several times because their Teaching Hospital did not offer the facility. Same for Plastic surgery. Those things are normal things here in Ife.

Can't imagine all the noise coming from the Saraki's state.
