The first one lasted a while but we had differences that were very pronounced both on personal and family fronts. The second was less than a month because she said her pastor said no.
There were a few I was interested in however, they never wanted more than friendship. I guess it was just the right person at the right time. We have our differences on personal and family grounds Horace, both families are okay with both mothers becoming good friends now.
Our major differences stems from upbringing. I was raised to be independent and my parents need not know my next line of action while she is the reverse. We have been coping with both parties making necessary adjustments. Good. |

valdovas: My younger sister got a job in a multinational company since before marriage, her husband works as a seller of a certain foreign product but since he started he has been barely mking money, my sister pays rent and kids school fees and buys food while he spends his money mainly on marketing his product. we all tried to help him and get a job in a company and as a lecturer but he refused saying he is used to business and does not want to work under anyone. So my sister has been the financial back bone of the family for a while.
Her husband now wants to bring in a family from the village that has been having financial problems since their father lost his job in a construction company when covid 19 started and want to stay with them while the man looks for a job in the city
My sister will basically be the one feeding this man and his wife and child.
I feel as if her husband is taking advantage of her ,he can work hard and be a better provider but he insists on doing his meager business that hardly fetches anything.
My sister is very soft spoken and does not like acrimony so I guess that is why he acts like he is not supposed to be the provider, not just that but now he wants to bring in extra mouth to feed when the woman was already stretched to her limit in handling responsibilities that are her husband's.
I plan to intervene and talk her husband out of bringing in another person to the house. What is your business with that family now? You are a third party, leave husband and wife alone, its their cross. |

thejourney200: By our second conversation, I was convinced. She is very intelligent and her words are seasoned. Although, in between I had concerns because of her family. She is from a very close family where they all get involved in each others business which I found strange. I am from a very close knot family but my discussion with my siblings remains with that sibling. Occasionally, if it seems the other party can't handle what we discuss, the person may involve a third person however, with one's permission but hers seem the opposite. They involve one another without permission. We are getting better in marriage many times with me acting I'm not concerned and she not disclosing our family. Rapsodee:
They always expect guys to just show up at their house door straight up for marriage without really building any real connection with their daughter first.
So archaic. Nollywood style, the guys will be acompanied by his kinsmen to come and pluck a ripe fruit.. Those scene can be so archaic...time flies...things av changed,.now a guy will meet, become friends and date a lady, propose, then they return home to seek parents consent. The one fact I know is, a lady must make herself approachable...Whether caged by parents or not, a lady that really knows what she wants, will surely get it. I av a family friend very religious, but when their daughter marriage set, guess who she married, one of the notorious guys in my area in the early 90s, though from a wealthy home. E shock everybody, because this girl was raised with tight caging..So how come she connected with the guy...now the live in US its been years happily living. Again, as a lady anywhere u are, someone is watching, either for himself, his bro or other recommendation...what matters is being yourself and being of good character. My relative that hardly comes out, rarely seen in public, but a very calm cordinated lady, when marriage reach na two.men drag her, a medical doctor based in US And and engineer based in canada...Both came on recommmendation..And today she is happily married to the medical doctor..and both living in the states...with their baby boy... Life is all about undestanding, no rush... |

RealSolution001: Please your advice is very important.
There's this girl I have been seeing on friendship level but presently there's urge to push it into relationship. From the look of things, I know she's already falling for me so the question whether she'll agree for me or not shouldn't even come in. However, I recently happened to know she's a member of brotherhood of the cross and star (the white garment and shoeless church) likewise her parents and other members of the family. Since I discovered this, I have been very sceptical about the whole thing.
Is it advisable to date such girl? What of in the event of breakup? Any physical or spiritual harm done to someone for being with such a person? Would I be coerced to convert to the beliefs (that is the last thing that will ever happen). Have you dated one before? How did it go? I can't....These white or purple garment people are mystic in nature, and their practice explore traditional religion mainly. The ladies are best for the men in their gathering. Birds of same feather flock together. |

Acidosis: 50k would no longer sound cheap by the time Buhari increase price of petrol to 200 naira per litre.
Even if you don't need the money, it's good to inform those you feel are in need. I regret not submitting details of my homies. Imagine getting 10 people from my village or church on the platform.
Mind you, it's not just a one off payment. What I read is that payment would be made for 3 months (Nov, Dec, Jan). Even now we get a litre at 170, 50k is not cheap...
