For now, we can't be so sure about how fatal the pandemic could or would be in Nigeria.
For instance, in Brazil and India the level of fatality/mortality was low for a long period (just as it is low right now in Nigeria), but suddenly the daily mortalities began to rise increasingly. Right now, the total reported death in Brazil is close to 40,000 (and it was less than 10,000 about a month ago).
Logically, the higher the number of people that contract the virus, the higher would be the mortality IN THE LONG RUN. It is estimated that about 4-6 out of every 100 people that contract the virus would die (eventually).
We will never have that kind of death in Nigeria. Stop believing NCDC figures. Those numbers are NOT TRUE. Other illnesses were killing people in Nigeria before Coronavirus arrived and deaths from other ailments would continue to happen with or without Coronavirus. NCDC should continue to roll out Fake numbers but Nigerians have moved on!

Interstate ban is only on paper. People dey travel as usual from day one of the interstate travel ban. Once you pay the required amount, you can get to any state within the country.
That means the present Nigerian government that wants to be identified with anti corruption is actually aiding and abetting corruption across Nigeria.
Will the States and Federal Governments say they don't know that the inter state ban is totally ineffective?
That people pass freely across Nigeria after settling security officers at check points?
The Federal Government should lift the ban on inter state travel without further delay. Enough of this Shame!

Better do your father's burial yourself, unless you are willing to transfer your birthright to them, plan and fix the burial yourself but if they feel like supporting fine. But if they oppress you much then go to court, the court will suspend the burial and retrieve all that is rightfully yours.

HealthRe: Kogi State Disagrees With NCDC, Says Kogi Is COVID-19 Free by murmee: 7:41am On May 29, 2020
Dollyak:
This analogy would have made more sense if majority of Kogi citizens doesn't want NCDC in their state and not the state government who are more interested in covering up no. of cases. If there is anything we have learned about the infection rate I'll say the probability of Kogi with zero cases is very low - even more so considering interstate movement was only recently banned.

Any states not conducting test in the name of propaganda risk undermining the whole effort of other states so it is the responsibility of NCDC to gather as much information about each states and tailor their response accordingly.
But for how long can Coronavirus infection be hidden? If the Virus is actually in Kogi state, shouldn't the effect be obvious by now? Do you really think the people of Kogi state will keep quiet if they are truly being ravaged by the Virus? Why are the people not shouting for help? So what propaganda are you talking about!
HealthRe: We Are Still COVID-19 Free - Kogi Government Insists by murmee: 11:46am On May 28, 2020
olumide4christ:
So you think?

What evidence do you have that people have not been dropping dead in Kogi state?
Are you aware of the protocol of handling suspected Corona Virus patients in each state?
When health workers suspect a patient is exhibiting Corona Virus symptoms, they call the state commissioner of health to come and take charge because only the ministry of health has the right to handle and take custody of Corona virus patients.
In Kogi state, because Gov. Yahaya Bello is determined not to declare any case in his state, the commissioner of health who answers to Bello will not respond to the calls from the health workers. Tests will not be carried out on the suspected patients. This was discussed and mentioned by investigative journalists on TV who have insider sources in the Kogi health sector. I watched the TV program, that's why I said it here.
Thus, there can be no Corona virus tests and affirmation if the state ministry of health does not sanction it.

Anyway, you can choose what you want to believe. We pray that we don't learn the hard way.
And what makes you think that the people of Kogi state will keep quiet if they are truly being ravaged by Coronavirus!

larrysworld:
Bros, Coronavirus is real but the mortality rate is so low, it is like 1/5000. That means one person out of 5,000 with the virus will actually die and that one person is dead not because the virus is powerful but because of other underlying health conditions. If the virus was real as they said it, half of Nigeria will be dead by now because culturally we lack personal hygiene. All those numbers you hear them talk on TV is a scam. The virus did not kill them, they died because they have other underlying health condition before catching the virus.
A very CANDID Report!

to all those always clamouring for more tests to ascertain the exact figures of covid cases, please remember, you can't test every single citizen of a country. The best parameter to check if Nigerian cases are actually correct is to check the percentage of the dead to the total confirmed cases, why is approximately 3%of confirmed cases. Regardless of our cases touted as being over stated, at least the percentage of deaths tallies with the estimated death rates in other countries.
Which is exactly what the NCDC wants us to believe. You can now understand the purpose of the inflated figures every day!

Human beings are funny and easily manipulated with fear. The problem we have here in Nigeria is lack of adequate Statistics. Now we can't have a comparative all cause mortality before this pandemic and now. Are you aware that more than half of Nigerian population are infected with tuberculosis but only a few come down with clinical disease ? And majority of those who come down with clinical disease are those with other immunosuppressive comorbidities similar to what is obtainable with covid 19. Now why is there no lockdown for serious infectious airborne disease , nor isolation centers for infected persons ? I tell you most solemnly, the mortality from covid 19 in Nigeria is far less than mortality from other infectious airway diseases (Tuberculosis, Pneumonia etc). Before the pandemic , thousands of Nigerians die daily from this infectious diseases. The problem we having about this is that we are extrapolating and anticipating a similar scenario in the USA, Spain, Italy, Brazil, etc and also implementing same measures without a critical analysis of what is obtainable in Nigeria. Laziness has always been our problem else a study would have been done to ascertain if the measures we are currently taking outweighs the consequences on our economy

How were you hoping for them to curtail the spread huh. With movement now in full swing it will take forever to contain the spread in the state. Add to the fact of our limited testing capacity. While the issue isn't going anytime soon, some form of containment must be achieved and won't happen if government just blatantly ignores and just lets everyone carry on with normal life.
