The other day, Nancy, the presenter of Moneyline on AIT was discussing with the NERC Chairman via phone about Electricity in Nigeria.

After asking the first few questions which the Chairman answered albeit unsatisfactorily, Nancy was about to ask the last question about the provision of Prepaid meters to consumers but the NERC Chairman quickly switched off.

I am saying for the umpteenth time that NERC is not on the side of electricity consumers in Nigeria. NERC will quickly approve when DISCOS ask for tariff increament but will NEVER push DISCOS to supply Meters to consumers. It is a big SHAME!

Controversially, I think Nigeria should loosen restrictions. Since most people who catch COVID 19 will recover. The problem is, the weak and vulnerable who are prone to it. Even being fit and young does not mean one can't die.

So how many fit and young are among the 7 that died!

I'm beginning to feel that this Corona virus issue is being politicized. If a man is suffering from hypertension and hepatitis, and dies from one or both causes and you claim he died from corona then you're not being truthful even if he tests positive because any one of those illnesses can kill at any time. But NCDC quickly added his case to the number of deaths. Something isn't right about this(my opinion).

Just as we all know that the coronavirus epidemic is getting virtually everyone locked down at home, our cars/vehicles are also not exempted since we won't be using them.

To avoid stories that would touch the heart whenever the lockdown is over and we want to make use of our cars/vehicles, it is necessary we carry out some things on them and some of them are listed
below;

1. Endeavour to always start the engine of your car/vehicle and let it run for few minutes say every 3 days to avoid problem with getting it to start later on.

2. Endeavour to always move your car/vehicle at least slightly forward and backward if you are unable to move it for short distance to avoid flat spots on its tyres.

3. Park your car/vehicle in a garage, under a car spot or better still, make sure of cover.

4. Try not to engage the handbrake of your car/vehicle.

5. Park your car/vehicle in a safe place and if you are the type that have no option than leaving on
your street, please make use of pedal and other security means to prevent your car/vehicle from being stolen or burgled.

IBEDC is one of the most efficient in Nigeria. See how fast they worked on their burnt major Sub station in Oluyole Estate, Ibadan a few weeks ago and restored light about the 3rd day after the incident.
If that kind of mishap happened to IKEDC, their customers will not see light for 6 months. IKEDC is only good at distributing Estimated bills to their customers. Very shameful!

I totally share your view. The so called 2nd Coronavirus death was that of an old man with serious underlying health issues and he would still have died even without the presence of Coronavirus in the world!

We are not asking for the name, at least give information on the person's medical history( if there is any), age and any other information that isn't revealing his identity, all these will help reduce fear and panic and also help others who might have the same medical history with such a person to know precautionary steps to take not to fall victim too, information is what rules the world today if you don't know, why corona virus has killed so many people in the world is because the world did not know much about it, every information right now is vital....

The person that died probably didn't die from Coronavirus. That's why they couldn't give so much information about him. They now want to make it look like the Virus killed anyone that died now as if people don't die of other illnesses, old age etc. before Coronavirus broke out.

I second your post. Coronavirus will only kill an African that already has serious health issues. Our type of foods has made it impossible for the Virus to fester in our bodies. When the Virus enters the African man bodies (tested positive) after sometime, our system will kill it and the person will test negative. Please note that I am not saying that people should be careless or disregard Social distancing o!

Coronavirus is not an African or Nigerian thing. The few positive cases in Nigeria are imported from abroad by returnees. If those coming from overseas were compelled to quarantine or isolate right from when the Virus broke out, we would not be in this mess. Nigeria is so fond of 'Fire Brigade' approach to everything. My observation is that Town Planning units are almost non existent in major towns in Nigeria except Abuja.
