Pettiness is when you view every issue tribally. Nairaland has gone on a terrible low by being a platform from where intellectual discussions used to take place about a decade ago to this. |
Poor reportage - well, that's not unexpected. We know who needs to be 'rescued'. |
Can people view issues without necessarily being racist? Gosh, I only looked at the picture; then I read the comments and I saw color codes! |
BVNO:Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9 and above can do all these. |
Clarinett:Busy, busier, busiest ![]() |
abbeyology88:Exactly where I was headed. Switching off your network or using the Airplane mode and exiting does the same function. |
The other day, I was listening to a conversation on how comprehension is a major problem today. To score political points, both sides resort to foolish and desperate tactics. Is Nnamani Nigeria? That's how this headline reads. @topic, the last line is apt in our current circumstances - herdsmen, NDA and the likes. Nip the worms in the soil before it festers around. |
Omoluabi16:The first time I listened to the guy, I was like "&$(%/@:". I am not a fan of his style but I understand he's got a lot of followers for Brilla. His switch among the different major Nigerian languages is an asset. He's also perceived as funny. Nigeria media has its own issues jare. I remember when Kemistry was at Brilla. Change is constant and for media guys, it's usually a 'make up' job; you only see what they present on air. You don't get to know what happens behind the scenes. This stuff makes me remember when City 105.1FM staff protested against poor working conditions before they rebranded, brought in Dan Foster etc. Today, where's Dan Ikoyi, not Ikeja!Brilla FM must be having a good laugh at this - this development signifies an OPPORTUNITY for them cos FATG gave them so much wahala 3 years ago. Lagos is a huge market and the competition is fierce. Your followership helps in marketing - I noticed how iFM also started their sports show too during weekends. Sports sells in Nigeria and as power supply is still a challenge, radio is an easy alternative. Methinks the brand ought to have been better managed than this. Definitely, they were all bound to split at a time (a reason for "and the gang" but man management matters a lot. Unlike the past, OAPs can speak up via social media. If Femi leaves AIMS today, he'll take his brand out just like Angela, Bademosi et al. Interesting games ![]() |
ozolity:Is it abnornal to have a qualified accountant and former Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning & Budget in the budget office In the midst of economists![]() |
Blame it on the 'sign' guy. Poor job s/he did. Blame it on NBTE. Accepting what is wrong abi na FOC dem do am? Blame it on the keyboard. Refusing to input the missing "p". ![]() |
DIKEnaWAR:The first question to ask is, where is the (documented) medical history for the doctor to refer to Like some others have pointed out, that's an unfair generalization a la 'wait and react'. What database exists In the absence of a proper system, the doctor is left with no choice but to rely on the 'truths and lies' of the patients during questioning. This quote of yours looks like a Nollywood script btw. |
Can we stop with all these so-called graphic pictures? It is not just about being warned about the content but being sensitive in posting such content. I beg to ask, "who graphic picture don epp" ![]() Let the investigators and other experts do the needful with these images rather than circulating it to the public. |
Well, over time on Nl, you'll get to differentiate between criticisms and constructive criticisms. ![]() All the same, valid questions were asked in the other thread. If you will succeed as a business, you need to assure and reassure users to clear all doubts about the safety of your product(s). |
With positions come responsibilities. With responsibilities come responsible statements. I used to think only trolls and keyboard warriors utter such statements but this is totally irresponsible and 'un-party' like. It's one thing to condemn an action, it's another thing not to bring unnecessary sentiments as consequences of such actions. |
'Quietly remarried', 'loudly publicized' ![]() |
okoheemmanuel:Yes. See - https://www.gloworld.com/ng/personal/data/data-plans/ I just hope they don't become another Airtel where you buy 14GB for N14 but it zaps within 14 seconds. Glo guys know subscribers have been complaining about the inconsistency in network availability - they should work on it if they really want to be market leaders as regards data plans. |
It is not compulsory to always see these images. For such incidents, a narration can serve better please. These kind of accidents show the difference between trained media personnel and the everyday social user - discretion! |
Governors ROTFL!!! |
the shallow mindedness of some people baffles me, you just pick up ur phone to comment on any post without reading in between the lines. For information the OP is also a graduate of UDUS and he got his fact right before writing this, the convoc took place 2 months ago and till now no contact from the school.you may never know what it feels like to be denied of your right coz u dnt knw what it takes to hit 4.86 CGPA in a course like that in a school like UDUs, you may never understand. lets stop hating and be sincere and put ourselves in her shoes.it is not a must to comment. With rights come responsibilities. Nonetheless, this 'right', what is it Please define in order to enlighten those who know not. You need to practise taking in comments (with a pinch of salt). Some comments may be annoying or 'off', but just focus on the issue. our minds work differently. For every question, there's a nice answer. ![]() |
Kingzy4pep:I beg to disagree sir. Who will pay the best graduating student when employed Or will the best graduating student work for free![]() This stuff requires planning -most likely, the school would have known the Best Graduating Student before the convocation date and rewarding such students has financial implications which someone has to approve of its expenditure. Otherwise, we'll see the same person crying out few months later of being cheated after experiencing all the paparazzi on convocation day. Isn't it this same country that Buhari's promise to athletes were just being effected after three decades Pronouncements etc are not enough; letters and contracts can do the talking. ![]() |
"A Yorubaman (PDP) Destroying An Igboman (APC)" - na Motral Kombat ![]() |
Bigotry is a big problem in this country. Did people take time to read the title of the bill Or check the meaning of Hudud and Qisas? We have a 'headline' problem in this country. |
^^^ Aminu Tambuwal is the Governor of Sokoto State. UDUS is a Federal School. Oba Rilwan Akiolu (of Lagos) is the school's Chancellor. Btw, OP, it's "bagged" and not "backed". Additionally, all I have seen here is the lack of media attention and recognition on the supposedly best graduating student. The OP has given a narrative that it is due to bigotry. I hope the person in question has collected her certificate because I would not advise putting her into 'more trouble' if you have not made steps or efforts to ask the school authorities. Don't let social media users lure you all the time with the "picture or no proof" voices. You need to be tactful in dealing with certain matters. Here is a one-sided conversation which unfortunately I cannot rely on for good reasons. What are the procedures involved in giving employment to 1st class graduates? Has she completed her NYSC? What plans does the school authority have for its best graduating student? What plans (if any) do you know they have for her? Methinks that aside the media celebration or glitz which you're disappointed in (and which could be ascribed to poor event management as seen in your narration), the other issues are ones you can't quickly conclude. |
MeAboki:I think fanaticism, bigotry and partisanship are factors that have worsened comprehension abilities of our people. A simile is now a problem for some of us that I no longer want to call this hasty conclusions. You have made a valid point here and I expected to see constructive opinions, however, to each his own. At topic, the highlight of the Senator's post is BUHARISM - that's all I see. Buhari is the centerpiece of his position. I do not support an aspiring Governor making use of such words in "airing my opinion" on the public space. He should remember words are like bullets, once used. . . . |
41lady:^^^ Which indeed is a good thing. It is not a matter of 'education' - in fact, isn't it ironical that the supposed educated don't know when to put on attires that suit their weather They ape after foreign cultures thereby ending in a mismatch of the weather vis-à-vis suitable clothes. Our (local) people have been wise enough to select suitable dressings for us - the educated should make the best use of their 'education' to make the best use of culture. |
When I saw Osita, I thought it was Air Traffic lol. Anyway, all I see is someone probably trying to cross the road, not controlling it. However, this picture may have been taken without his permission just for the OP to post online. What a miss! |
iffydave:NGN300 per quarter. |
Dymaco:With the comments I read online and how people want to make Nigeria disintegrate with their keyboards, I think Nigeria can do without BIGOTS. The economic potentials of Nigerians and Nigeria should be recognized by ALL. |
The use of tenses here ![]() |
Immarshall:Is it even up to a working day sef, less talk about 3 days (today being Sunday) ![]() Someone was writing about Economics and reaction of market forces, I jus laff. |
