sirdamis:There are 54 African countries who belong to AU. Add Morocco to the list and that makes it 55. Though ChartsBin's imagery is a year old, you need to consider the number of countries in each nation. I don't think the age of a country's leader is a yardstick for defining who a youth is. After all, it is an African belief that with age comes wisdom. http://chartsbin.com/view/38561 |
lozanni: lozanni:Customers' testimonies are the cheapest advertising deals. Before Shoprite came in here, people also tried something similar. In fact, there's nothing really special in their operations save for the fact that it's on a big scale. Today, based on the success of the pilot branches and the adherence to standards, people crave for air conditioned shops in their areas. Before they got to Enugu etc, people will travel to Spar in PH just to have that shopping experience. Today, Shoprite is not in PH for a Naija factor reason while Spar has at least two locations in the same city. Doing business in Nigeria is not hard but it's only made uneasy by the locals and government. Sometimes, you ask yourselves what the people want. Many a times, people have these grand ideas but because they have to involve stakeholders such as the local community (traditional leaders are not exempted) and the (state) government, it hits the rocks. Personally, Ondo State is one state I SMH for because it has a lot of tourism potentials. It will take the seriousness of the government first to overcome the major challenge because even when you attempt to take some steps, some people will remind you of the functions (inactions in reality) of government. Lagos State is a state that's opening up such areas particularly Epe and Badagry - those with grand ideas can sell them to such areas because the SG is actively interested in such for now. |

mapet:Spot on. From radio to TV to print, we have a plethora of lazy journalists. It's just a few outlets you can trust. When you do not know something, you can not verify something or have not done enough research on something, it's best to leave the issue but what we have here is journalists gossiping on air and the likes. Apologies to those who are doing a good job but it's becoming a worrying trend where unsubstantiated information (aka gossip) become the news - this causes a lot of damage to the individuals and the society at large. Unfortunately, what makes it worse is that most readers/viewers are not analytical enough in their reading or viewings so the media outlets lap on this. If we had critical questions to ask, they would do a good job before attempting to publish. |
We want to take this opportunity to call on the publishers of the said article to immediately retract this falsehood and issue a public apology to MTN and Mrs Amina Oyagbola. This is the part that interests me the most. Except they sue SR, I don't see this happening. |
Hope you realise that the NPF guys cannot leave their guns anyhow - they account for the location and usage of it. The other day when they let someone pose with it in a picture, you guys called for his head like he was one careless officer. |

steppin:If only you understand the metaphor behind him wearing the mask, it looks likely he will keep it on. For those who don't understand, he had revealed he would only remove it when governance gets better in Nigeria. So, the mask symbolises protest. |
bongolistik:It's not an exaggeration, in law, you can get sentences based on the penalties for the charges. It doesn't matter whether you will live as long as those number of years. MADOFF for example was sentenced to 150 years in prison despite being in his 70s. Take a look at the sentences below: http://www.businesspost.ng/2016/11/03/kano-court-jails-ex-banker-195-years-n21m-fraud/ http://www.guardian.ng/news/oluremi-olayinka-sentenced-to-266-years-imprisonment-for-stealing-n8m/ http://pulse.ng/gist/gone-for-good-kenyan-man-jailed-200-years-for-murdering-his-children-id4759297.html |
Interesting exposé this is. I simply don't understand why some people have this mentality of punishing others or the PHD syndrome. How do they cope It's not only in the education sector this occurs and that's the more reasons we have less mentees cos few are willing to guide others officially and unofficially. |

@mattyboy007 you're right, that's why the market has different segments but you must remember that in this context, Nokia is trying to re-enter the market so the business strategy could make or mar them. HMD wants to leverage on Nokia's goodwill but time will tell whether that's enough to cover costs. |
mattyboy007:Yes but at what cost? Nokia was known to have expensive smartphones and their prices hardly dropped. |
Not being a pessimist but this project just seems like it is set to fail. Prove me wrong please. . . A Nokia that was a market leader but saw Symbian + a restrictive Microsoft OS as the way to go now wants to switch to Google OS. Loyalty is what made their customers patronise them even when it was obvious they were failing and now they still want to buy such gimmick. Most people just need a functional OS with good hardware. Not sure the branding plays a lot, particularly in this part of the world. |
BEENUEL:What exactly are you advocating in the name of Nigeria Citizens tamper with public facilities? Your call is similar to residents tampering with an electrical pole just because the DCs are 'useless'. Common! Let's be realistic, the best is for people to continue calling the authorities until they react. |

Hypocrisy this is especially if she preached against fornication. It's one thing to condemn wrong, it's another to justify wrong. These days, 'do not judge' followers allow wrongdoers to dodge analysis of their actions. To each her own! |
Ironically, I do not like contact forms plug-ins. They seem like one contacting a machine and reduce the human contact. It appears like most companies simply use it as a means to avoid you sending them an email. Moreover, how do you follow up from a previous message if not responded to through the contact form? Create another one? Emails enable you to 'maintain the thread of conversations'. Any serious blogger who wants to use the contact form should ensure that an automated response is sent to the visitor and a follow-up is done. More serious minded individuals give a timeline of how long it takes them to respond to mails. This way, unrealistic expectations are not built up by the customer. Alternatively, make use of both contact forms and emails but make sure you respond to both. |
falconey:Caught my attention too. You would have expected a Musa Bamidele if you understand what I mean. |
paparazzi1987:When Gowon's government setup NYSC on 22nd May 1973, PMB was 30 years old. Similarly, PMB was a military officer and they are exempted from service: http://www.nysc.gov.ng/certificates-info/cr-cert-exemption.php |
sweetgala:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passport_validity Notice how many African countries have lesser validity periods.
|
Captainbells:I think you should modify this comment because it's misleading and has no elements of sarcasm. Passports of other countries I have seen are generally 10 years and it pisses me off why Nigeria is not the same. India, SA, USA etc - they are ten years max. Drivers licences also have shorter renewal times for obvious reasons. |
Seniorman69:Funny enough, this wasn't it. These ones came to Ray power's political platform show. All the same, what you have cited is the third example I have heard too. Saw something like that on a South African station too and I am not too surprised because the Superior Guider of MMM Nigeria is one SA-based pastor. So, it's not surprising that they would duplicate templates across Africa. Same thing the guys on Ray Power said - it's a reward. Like, Hello Santa!!! I am just observing as the experience will be useful in case studies. EFCC officials and bankers allegedly playing it, rich men playing it, people building houses or paying school fees with it etc must be making Baba Ijebu grin ATM. People will find justifications for anything but facts are always sacred. Not once or twice have people used sentiments to sway the populace from thinking objectively. I cannot be swayed. |
progress69:You need not cite these many examples - the day that website is inaccessible, I want to see who participants will contact. There's so much hate and attack whenever you discuss this stuff and it shows you the power of money. The other day, one of the guiders on air said MMM is not an investment but a donation. When asked what government should do, the same person said "government should leave us alone or support us". I just laughed. Only the foolish will talk like that. Something gives you 30% returns (1% daily) and you call it donation. You must think it's everyone that's lost their senses. You don't want government regulations but use government regulated services. In this instance, I am happy CBN etc have warned participants beforehand. From SA to Zimbabwe or Nigeria, none of them can give you a logical answer to the 30% stuff. They just keep turning in circles - even the website too gives you a roundabout answer. You don't even know who's transferring funds to you - cartels, kidnappers etc, you just want to keep making money because in your defence, the government has messed up or because you're not killing anyone. Even the so-called enlightened ones know what they are doing when they shove off the crash talks and this goes to show you that there are two types of people in the scheme - the ignorant people and the greedy. The former are wallowing in ignorance and have guiders + returns that keep reassuring them while the latter are the gamblers. The MMM guys carefully crafted this scheme, provided caveats and used terms such as 'help', 'reward' etc. If it was this easy to 'provide help', modify the scheme and try to reduce (as it happened in Zimbabwe) or eliminate the 30% thingy. If you're only interested in making money but not really interested in how you make money, you've only showed me the kind of person you are. If you keep saying we are disturbing ourselves while others are chilling with their money, no qualms. The Nigeria of today is more interested in what you have made rather than what what you do to make it. However, some of us will continue to say it as it is no matter whose ox is gored. Money is indeed powerful but it's not everyone who can control its wielding effect. |
Goke7:I am sure or I want to believe the security team of both countries would have sorted that out. Even when receiving gifts, they check the gifts out before handling. Dates are traditional to Moroccans and they use it in welcoming guests at events or what have you. It is what is typically used to break fasts in Islam too, so, judging by the date (Monday) and time the President arrived, is it possible he was breaking his fast? |
patriotic9jaboy:Those are dates, not kulikuli. |
Foolishness of the All Wise Had to read that twice to be sure it wasn't a mistake. |
It is a consequence of being in love and having someone who has gone into the covenant with you. After all, even children do same - there's a way they'll cry for attention when they know it's there or not! Human nature just wants loved ones to feel their emotions when they're around. Those who get pregnant out of wedlock can only do this to any party that sympathises with them. Otherwise, they'd just keep it inside so as to avoid fanning the embers again. |
sweetgala:I would have blamed it on ignorance but the comments on this thread are not borne out of ignorance. It's just a hate for some set of people and wilful disrespect to people's cultures. Comments such as him being kidnapped and replace, suffocation or what have you is not out of sincerity. It is just in a bid to mock them. Are you saying the people will be so stupid to ignore the climate and put on turbans, robes etc It's not necessary to comment and there are beautiful views of our cultural attires to cherish. Well, when comments are free, unguarded thoughts are. . . |
