rhymaster:You believe this story The dude is not worth the publicity being granted to him. His story has a lot of holes. |
Dalung seems to like talking to the media/press at any slightest opportunity. His media management has not been the best. This is one of the items that needs to be changed in the kitchen cabinet. ASAP At worst, a probe will be conducted after the games but from the Atlanta mess to Rio's, it was quite obvious there's bad blood between some feds and the MoS. It was like the parties were playing out their scripts and making Nigerians blame one of them. |
accountbalance:To each his own really. One man's dog is another man's rabies. I don't see the hypocrisy here. Some people like these qualities you listed depending on the age though. Truth is, if he doesn't like these qualities, let them just be x and y apart else, trying to change a decade of behaviours may just bring out the beast out of the beauty. "So take me, as I am. Or have nothing at all. . ." |
accountbalance:This is not the quality of a responsible man. There are conflicting terms here - "trying to make her better" vs might be getting tempted by other babes" vs "up to standard". Do you really want the best for this relative of yours Better temptation carry an unprincipled man away than |
How old are the subjects in question Women tend to behave 'older' than their peers. The OP seems to have drawn a conclusion and taken sides. From "crying that her boyfriend has not been treating her well" to "behaving like a woman", is he behaving like a man himself You've called the lady primitive etc and seem not to realise that the qualities she possesses are outstanding enough to differentiate her from these "trendy girls". It appears that you think she's got a problem but the lessons she's got from her grandma is helping her in shaping the kind of woman she is today. In fact, those who grew up with the elders have definitely swallowed coconut water - I value such experience. Do not make a 'good girl gone bad' out of this lady. Na jeje the guy see her wey e go meet her, if he wants to meet more trendy girls, let him click on the trending topics. From all you wrote, it's the guy who seems not matured enough to handle her. She's not at disadvantage like you would want us to believe neither is she losing anything as you think. 30 years old is not a race. PS: The details of the "weird intimate things" can alter this analysis. ![]() |
The right to freedom of expression shouldn't be a cover for being vile and thinking sarcasm is always "Sir Kazeem". The coincidence of the dog named after President Buhari made a lot of people think it was about PMB. They failed or purposely ignored the fact that it was the name of the man's father. Alas, it has become political. People shouldn't think they are playing smart with all these stuffs. |
brainpower:Like Twitter, like Nairaland - it's a marketplace. Seeking a forum where intellectual discussions are held is like climbing the mountain. It used to be sane (to some extent) in the past but the more people that enter the market, the more rowdy it becomes. Only the Market Head and section leaders can call their members to order. |
Heromaniaa:Should he read this, your use of the word 'refuse' here will make the man refuse all explanations that you did not have a hand in this! ![]() |
tomquest:Wait o, first you must understand that written poetry is different from spoken words. Moreover, Soyinka is revered in the literature world due to the terms and messages he passes. All the same, are you saying from your post that Soyinka employs literary bugatti when he speaks too? I beg to disagree. |
ItsMeAboki:One question for me is how a supposed security guard, knowing fully well why he was brought to the area will do this and expose himself. Although, impossible is nothing but the information begs more questions. Unfortunately, people think that asking questions is equal to being insensitive or taking sides. |
Oksman:Thank goodness you also cited the unprofessional way they do that. Remember that there's propaganda behind such stations (and this is not to say that the most objective of stations don't have sentiments behind them). What these people do, which is akin to what the OP has done is to appeal to people's irrational sentiments. Once that is achieved, factual analysis is an afterthought. For the doubting Thomases, who dead body picture epp Or in the past when they reported crime stories, how many of these pictures did we see to (dis)believe? Pictorial news are popular today because it helps in shaping the way the source wants readers to think. It doesn't permit them to ask questions. Instead, it's just to guide your thoughts after seeing the 'evidence'. All the same, I still do not support the posting of such pictures like these. When did we get to this level? C'mon!!! |
freshvine:I agree with you. I understand that in this country, the citizens appear helpless as the relevant authorities will turn a blind eye until a little hole becomes a drainage. Nonetheless, it's because we have fueled divisions amongst ourselves that we have categorised ourselves into derogatory terms. I won't turn a blind eye to the realities on ground but we need to be careful as a people. The way we narrate stories to fuel ethnic wars needs to be checked. At the end, the narrative could have been something else but still involving the three individuals. In the past, we have seen how 'padded' stories caused needless and stupid ethnic wars. |
cutelover19:You don't know me, yet you claim you know me. This post emphasises what was written earlier. Are you more interested in who died or who from my/your tribe died? Seeing terms like 'downplay', 'injustice against the Igbos' and 'if it were the opposite' already answers the question. |
freshvine:You see two female corpses lying down and you want to draw conclusion by relying on a third party account? I can bet you that if you go there, you'd get different narrations but at least, one variable will be consistent. I still tell you that anything could have occurred amongst this three and this could be or not be anything related to the OP's account. |
freshvine:A lot of injustices occur in this country, thus the need to execute justice by some of our people. What I think you are getting wrong is the premise of my post. I don't rush into conclusions but I'd rather read this kind of news with a 'source' rather than relying on a 'true story'. It is the same country a lot of us have been feeding on hearsays and taking it as facts. That someone killed another person is not something I will support but I'm more interested in a professional reportage of the incident. This has got nothing to do with supporting any of the parties. There's nothing wrong in questioning the information you see before rushing to conclusions. |
ProfessorPeter:I suggest you read that post again. Apparently, your deductions from the post has skewed into another drivel. I'd rather rely on professional reportage than 'true stories'. |
vanbonattel:Firstly, I don't do tribal rants. So if you think I'll be lured by such, no vex, wrong number. Secondly, you do not just swallow information given to you at face value. This could have been anyone, just anyone. The person the OP is calling Hausa may just have been Kanuri, Fulani or even a non-Nigerian. The OP could be of the opinion that just because he speaks what sounds to him like Hausa, he is Hausa. Thirdly, this is still irresponsible reportage. It's really at this stage I support a regulation on the use of social media. What identity is the dead man? How has the picture helped you? Are you a medical expert or police man? Who knew what transpired to determine who is a criminal or otherwise. Lastly, I understand the trend we have here on NL. There's so much hate around that bigotry is publicly celebrated and encouraged. Even the few who pretend to respect human lives lose it when someone from their tribe is involved irrespective of whether the subject is right or wrong. Pfffft! |
Aside the insensitivity of the OP towards human life and dignity by posting these pictures, I get perplexed when I see narrations colored in tribes. This is just your account of the story and one does not know what transpired in reality. If a journalist or investigator goes to the scene, you'd hear different narrations. It could have been anything that occurred amongst the parties but this stupid trend of emphasising tribes adds to senseless retaliation and killings. It appears a lot of this generation are not aware of how similar reportage in the 60s contrubuted to the civil war. A Hausa man this, an Ibibio man that - apparently, the value people place on human lives is all lost when they give emphasis on the categorisation of the carcasses. |
President Buhari needed an interpreter to communicate with Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.Op needed someone to communicate to him that aside the fact that he was not present at the meeting, pictures could also tell us a thousand things, depending on the way the viewer sees it. Common sense will tell us that an interpreter does not need to be in such an uncomfortable position in order to 'interpret' Soyinka's words. Well, you wouldn't blame those who feed on illogical speculations ![]() |
Roses1:I quite understand this. That's why I asked who the relation was to the mother. Unfortunately, we have gotten to a stage where there is no trust even with leaving the child with the father in some extreme cases! |
iamVirus:Play what at 1 year plus? Ludo They even used the word "as usual"! Who is the suspect to the mother? Is he a relative? Is the baby still being breast-fed? Who takes care of the baby while the mother is away? The report itself get k-leg, why would the mom go and 'pick her up' from the suspect that 'lives with the parents of the 18 month old baby'? Anyway, hope this picture parade is not just 'eko for show' because LASG has a tough stance against domestic abuse. Looking forward to a catalogue of sex offenders that can name and shame such people. |
koladebrainiac:He wasn't joking. It was a faux pas that ended up in him being the joke. This is the result of a Minister who doesn't appear to be so sure of his job description; interfering in functions of his sub units and always seeking media relevance. Long time ago there were suspicions about him performing, now he has really performed. He has played to the gallery and needs to be removed from PMB's cast of Ministers. The show is over abeg! |
Linked to 97.3 Megaelectrics has finally 'competed' with AIM Group by setting up 91.3 FM. That's a direct competitor to Nigeria Info FM. |
What I see here is the 'eagerness' to 'break the news' but the website name sef na enough warning. Social media seems to have brought out this olofofoness in people these days as they have been provided an avenue to express this trait however unprofessional it is. What's with the craze of posting graphic pictures ![]() According to an eye witness by name Modili Donstev who also said he is known as Aluta Parrot said that the criminal were 3 but one happen to escape.Military zone by who I understand that our NPF messes up at times but the students cannot still take laws into their hands (i.e. if they are students as the blogger claims). |
So, the Nigerian Police Force is now the 'constituency' of David Mark abi That is indeed SHOCKING. ![]() |
dubemnaija:* Topic reads "What's The Arabic Inscription On Our Army's Logo?? PHOTO" - Innocent question. * When has Nigeria become an Arabic or Islamic state etc? - Conclusion * Buratai should answer all of the above questions before I provoke - the strike out of Buratai's name alone has said it all about the objective of the post. I blame all of us for the question was directed to Buratai, not the public! iHiss Apparently, the post was not really to find out what it meant or the history behind it. Just an attempt to create hysteria online and feed the ignorant with uniformed opinions and conclusions. Such a shame that there's so much 'affinity curse' today that bigotry overrides objectivity. |
The writer of the piece above is annoyingly sarcastic^^^ I wouldn't even bother quoting the examples I saw in the piece I hate when writers are pompous in their description of how sad another country is ![]() We are usually unprepared but surprisingly optimistic by hoping that our emergency spiritual hotlines will come to our aid during competitions. Nigeria, we hail thee! |
The incident that moved me was when a Septuagenarian/octogenarian narrated her ordeal of how Baddoo raped her but she was thanking God because he had been caught. I'm surprised to see he was released. All the same, I understand that some of these criminals have sponsors from above. So, at the end of the day, they're easily bailed out from police custody. What a shame. |
kulrunsman79:Professorship didn't come without research and papers. http://advance.ui.edu.ng/news33.php |
fragilebeing:Unfortunately, I will not motivate you with positive comments about how "great" you are. Rather, I will give you the reality. It's called OFFICE POLITICS and it's not a game of knowledge or the likes, It's about surviving in the 'animal kingdom'. I highlighted this part of your write-up cos it is where you'll learn from - do not assume that you have friends, you only have colleagues. It is possible that these (older) colleagues of yours know the office environment well and when it came to where they ought to 'perform', they fumbled! That's life for you. You need to open up your mind to criticisms even if within you, you know it has no basis. However, do not be a card in the game that can be thrown anyhow. Make use of this experience positively. You will have a story to write tomorrow about it. In some other organizations, they even insult staff (though I don't condone this). Believe in yourself and learn from each party, no matter how crazy it sounds. |
onomeasike:How Amaechi brought NLNG back to Rivers – NLNG M.D NLNG left Lagos for PH. |
Drabeey:The votes are for a referendum, something I think a lot of people want instead of guys resorting to violence and the likes; all the same, votes therefrom may or may not reflect this percentage ![]() |
