Once again, politicians are the best examples of 'showing love'. They would fight publicly and make up publicly. Whether na dance or set up (as Aluko claimed), Nollywood actors can't rival them. |
please, naptu2, is this another of musiwa's account? |
Apparently, the police is our friend here. ![]() |
cescky:1bkay3 she is. Guessed some have aged past NL ![]() |
cescky:OMG. Nostalgic. It appears Lysaa deactivated her account - she be PH girl; don't know how PH treats her. Can't remember what Ibkaye's handle currently is. |
cescky:OMG. Na wa o. See dis big men of yesterday. I still dey small small o |
Nigerians are patient people. Their tolerance level is sooooo elastic. All the same, 'no light' and 'no fuel' are terrible variances to mix with the current heat wave. It's like these factors 'boil' the already 'hot blood' of Nigerians. Tempers are rising. Disorderliness will become the 'order' of the day if this continues for one more week. |
The Generator Economy - there has never been a more important time to fix the power sector for good now! |
hmmph:Interesting. However since you have resorted to insult to cure my ignorance and I have no idea as to what you're quoting me on a 2012 post, I say "goodbye". ![]() |
Just wait for the There are legal ways to deal with libels - the person sef no go wan try am again. |
Thanks for the post. However, I disagree with: 1. SWORD: the " " being silent - /sɔɹd/. That's an emoticon - ok, the D being silent.2. Hotel Suit: I believe this is SUITE, not SUIT though I see that the use of the latter is archaic. 3. Chicago: just like Liecester, this one is not our fault. This has to do with places one may not be familiar with. Afterall, how many can pronounce "Awka", "Kontagora" or "Illesa" properly? Even the popular Sokoto, how many people avoid the use of "Sh"? §Trafficator: reminds me about the fact that there's no word such as 'trafficate' or 'trafficating'. The word is not a verb. |
Post Number 7 seems to be the highlight here for me, irrespective of who bankrolls the posts or speeches. Make not the mistake made as regards Chibok. Gov't officials should be careful about the utterances they make when speaking to Nigerians. You need to be able to 'control your emotions' and use words that have less chances of being misconstrued. Tomorrow, someone will come out and say, "I never said ABC, I meant XYZ". Adesina's continuous use of 'wailing wailers' does not show maturity especially as a representative of the current government. Whilst the opposition could be fueling criticisms (which is expected), there are better ways of responding to these issues rather than not learning from yesterday's men; men who treated every critic as 'opposition'. Professor Jega taught us last year, let's learn. |
I will advise you explore the option of writing to the relevant ANSG office rather than a forum post. You run the risk of losing this idea to someone else who will do the proper thing and you'll then start fighting over stealing of ideas. |
OX just got a |
JAYTUNEZ:Then you ask "what does their belief says about this?" Pfft! |
Please provide us a list of the 40 developed countries ^^^^ Thank you. |
I blame the moderators for letting such a thread to get to 3 pages. In the past, such a thread would not see the light of day. Cc: Seun No news network carried it but the OP is now a reliable source ba No date, no statement etc - very disappointed to have this thread stay alive till this time. |
Gaddafithe2nd:For me, it was in one of the SS states and I saw TVC (perhaps, it must have been CONSAT) news with a reporter reporting from a North African country (can't remember which one). I had to dig deep again; TVC has/had undergone massive investments. For them to have reporters in foreign countries speaks a lot. Channels has tried to maximise their potentials based on the funds they have. There was a time I used to yab them cos they only used to show pictures most of the time (particularly sports news); so it was almost like listening to the radio on TV. It's interesting to note that except Fola, the likes of Gimba and the sports guy (can't remember his name now) have gone to CBS and come back to Channels TV. So like others have said, TVC has wide coverage. I have a feeling Channels knows that they are giving them a run for their money. However, the reputation Channels has built so far will continue to make them grow. For TVC, the allegiance the founders have will continue to remain a concern for those who 'consume' their news. |
Jamean:The space thingy is the ploy by the fraudster to tap into the desperation of the job seeker so that the Maga can respond quickly. The first question I ask Nigerians is, do you want to sow where you didn't reap Did the OP have any encounter with 'Shell Houston'. Be careful of butter and bread stories. |
OP, what did SHELL write on its website as it's procedures for being offered employment? Read it, come back here to read this, observe the gaps, then tell us the outcome. For Shell staff on NL, they should take an action on this new level of 419. Apparently, these ones have studied the process and made sure that the initiation is legitimate (since applicants started on Shell's original website). |
highzeek94: Obamina:I don't want to believe that we are silently encouraging mediocrity here. Nigerian will not progress if we keep endorsing mediocrity by giving excuses. I mean, I read every comment here and there was a consensus here - the commentary was wack. I bet you won't hear those at the stadium complain about the commentary. Nonetheless, some people still take their radios whenever they go to the stadium because it adds to the entertainment. The commenters here paid for a satellite service, they need to enjoy the value of whatever they paid for. You can't tell them to take garri for the package they paid for. I must admit that it is not an easy job to do but that's why they're professionals! It's their job - I don't make excuses for what someone ought to be trained for. If the station has good commentators, they make more money too. Please, from what I know and what I've read here, Nigerian commentators need to stop being partisan during football games. Additionally, adequate research should be conducted before going on air - people learn from commentaries and this is not about supporting a Nigerian just because he or she is. In recent times, Mitchell Obi in my opinion is the closest to being qualified when it comes to giving you statistics and stories around a game though some have reservations about him. Femi and the gang is another group of young guys trying to change the 'bad press' surrounding our commentators. They have given so many (sports) stations a headache that I've seen people reducing the volume of their TV sets just to hear these guys on radio. I can't remember the guy's name now but the guy that schooled in the UK among them; Femi and Emmanuel do a good job in giving match commentaries. |
The question is 'what is work experience' The experience you get when you are employed or working at an organisation irrespective of the timeline. Your NYSC experience is that you acquire at your PPA during service year. Truth is, never discard this no matter how irrelevant you think it is. In fact, some employers even have interests in what you did as a volunteer during service etc than your work experience. Let your CV define the most part of you as a person. That is a reason why it's impossible to get the perfect CV, though this is no excuse to draft a poorly organised CV. Unfortunately, due to the anomalies we have in Nigeria, you see some employers specifically requesting for 'xyz years post-NYSC experience'. However, this does not make it right. This is why the NYSC should ensure that as much as possible, people are posted to PPAs that synchronize with their qualifications. In conclusion, please include your NYSC experience in your CV. It's not a must to even put NYSC in bracket - let the interviewer express his or her curiosity. Some people (are ashamed of the NYSC experience and then) remove it from their CV 3 to 5 years later. Whatever the case, wherever you gained your experience from, make sure it has taught you well enough to defend it, even if it's IT (Industrial Training). |
People these days lack respect for privacy |
Cutehector:This is not the nicest of ways to critique the OP's assertions. The new problem we seem to have in Nigeria is when we fail to call (and realize that) a spade (is) a spade. We now employ the use of sentiments and 'just because' kinda stances. I read the other thread where someone was justifying the wrong use of English by a graduate; in doing so, the person also used 'just because' to attack those who corrected the fellow. Has the OP said something wrong HAs he assumed a judgmental position Does he have the right to do so Has he written based on experience or hearsay![]() We are really going south. People, focus on the issues. |
beautyerhu86:The title of your topic is already prejudicial - 'Olaseni the paedophile'. Btw, I have not taken any side. |
At one point, I am like, 'don't Nigerians know the right media to report to' \Then when I read the attempts by some people to report to the relevant authorities without these authorities doing anything, one can not but endorse public shaming. Issues like this can be handled easily by the school but it appears that not until the media is involved, our people tend not to act. Strangely, these guys like to have a good name in the media rather than performing their basic functions as required. When issues like this get to the public, they are subject to many interpretations if the concerned authorities do not act fast. Shame |
I do not expect this government to perform magic. However, what is needed is continuous communication and coordinated communication channels on its plans - you need to 'keep hope alive'. Getting conflicting statements from government officials, having people assume what the stance of government is, speaking to Nigerians in foreign lands etc won't help much. Ultimately, actions speak faster than talks too. |
nd07:Are you referring to OP or Luke? COs if this was in reference to Luke, then this shows not that you read his articles. He's been writing for Guardian for a long time, long enough to know what he wrote during campaign seasons. |
IyfeNamikaze:Lol. I was emphasizing your point. It has more to do with English language taught by our colonialists, rather than 'whites' as you used there. |
IyfeNamikaze:. . .because these names are not in ENGLISH. |
Niyinficient:iLAff. So, Vivian Gist is now the tribunal to go to. How sure are you of who the OP is How do you vet these stories You think the trained media personnel do not know what they do before publishing stories I can say, you can say, however, what is right is right, what is wrong is wrong. By the time the people authority want to use the law(s) against him or her, go help the dude. This is Nigeria abeggi. By the way, when discussing online, learn or pretend to respect people's opinion. You have a healthier argument when you face the issues objectively. |
OBAGADAFFI:Your outburst will not change anything. Why not hold the government accountable? Every government since 1999 has insisted that NYSC will stay. Until there is a bill passed by the NASS and assented to by the President to repeal the law, your last paragraph is simply wishful thinking. 1. The court will not compensate unless you apply to it. It's the function of government and it's agencies. So, the court will not hear the grievances of the aggrieved until they apply to it. You asked, ''What Court compensated to the families of dead Corp members during previous election. '' Here's an instance of compensation albeit the frequency of these is another thing: www.informationng.com/2013/09/2011-post-election-violence-nysc-presents-n26-7m-to-families-of-dead-injured-corps-members-in-niger.html 2. That they are corps members does not mean they are meant to die. After all, despite these incidences, corps members have continuously performed electoral officiating duties in various states. Why don't our politicians stop inciting violence during elections? Why do law enforcement officials appear weak? NYSC will continue to use corps members for these elections because they find them 'unfamiliar' adhoc staff who cannot easily take sides during elections. I may appear theoretical but I need to point out the current realities. If you don't want your child participating in it, maybe postponing the service year when the posting list is out is a practical solution. Playing sick etc may also work. Ultimately, the moment you realise that all corps members 'belong' to the FG during service year, the more proactive you are in 'handling' your government during that period. |
