Kokoigbo is 1300each
Aku is 1200

all depend on ur bargain power.
Hence If u want 2x3 Aku @1200 for 2x6= 1 to be share into 2, therefore 1 2x3=600, cutting os N30. You get a full wood in this form not solo size of wood.

Seriously some mason do charge more than some professionals this days , this for plastering of 4bedrooms flats ? it just too much no matter the location and the size of the 4bedroom ( I knew it’s not 4bedroom king palace design).

The roof charges is much also something in region of 120-180 is enough for all

He is the carpenter that has been handling the work from the beginning and at a point when i wanted to do the Parapet, his bill for woods and workmanship was almost 380k and i had to change to another whose cost was 200k.

I actually wanted to compensate him with this job and that was why i called him. the other guy had charged 120k for the wood work and roof with almost same quotations of materials but i was thinking he will charge less but he wan mess up.

Also the attached quotation given to me by carpenter for roofing of a 4 bedroom flat with dimension 13m by 20m with 6m kingpost high

Please how is good to plaster a 4 bedroom flat in and out all ensuite.

My bricklayer is saying 480k. I think this is too much or what do you think.

Boss, money spent in some of these stages are too much o. How come they used 30 bags of cement in blinding and still used another 30 bags of cement for foundation block setting? I thought they usually use 1 bag of cement to set 80 blocks.

Hi Bro,
As I had explained to you, the number of bags used during the blinding stage was accurate as I witnessed its usage. My blinding thickness was about 9 inches to 12 inches depending on the topography of the blinded area. I also want to say that I don't see it as a waste, it's my house and the best is what I want.

As it relates to setting of blocks, 1 bag of cement don't set 80 blocks, 1 bag of cement will set between 50 to 55 blocks.

Firstly : Mixing of stone dust with plaster sand works very fine!


But here is the clause, it must be used with very fine sand. Because once the sand is sharp or too strong it won't come out nice.

Secondly ; It need an experienced one!

- Advantage: Stone dust + fine sand this to increase the strength of the poor plaster sand
Just as sharp + fine sand.

- It asecthically okay.

On the attached picture there are different types of cracks!

I am currently at the stage of plastering my parapet before dealing roofing and my bricklayer kept saying i should buy stone dust that it is good for plastering added to the conventional plastering sand. Also my neighbor who has completed his building says he also used stone dust for plastering as well. so it got me confused and wanted to know what importance it adds to the building.

Please, i need good advise as i dont want to regret not doing anything that is considered good for this project.

I am a Furniture Maker I am specialised in Boards work (MDF,HDF). The dimension of the walldrop you uploaded is 3x6 Feet and the depth is 18inches +. If you want to consider costing for the walldrop 3 Boards will be Ok. But I will advice you go for 4x6. But if you are considering cost you can either use MDF all through or HDF, or simply combine both board meaning HDF use for the stands and MDF for the Partitioning. The Major thing is the Finishing. Once the Finishing is Great no one can differentiate from the both. For kitchen cabinet go fully for HDF.

The Nigeria measurements are different. Warri (Delta State) MDF Wardrobe prices:

4x6m as from 45k
4x9m (floor to ceiling) as from 90k

So the prices differ according to size, design (how many compartments) and the quality and type of hinges and handle. Take a look at the space you designed for wardrobe in your project, this will give you the size and style of design that suits your project and then negotiate price accordingly.

Please note that MDF has lower quality. All na MDF, but some MDF pass some MDF.

The low quality MDF is as from 35k. If you decide to use the better quality MDF, make sure this is what would be delivered and not the lower one for the price of the higher one.

You're right.... There's no way suspended ceiling can come before plastering.

Also

Even the normal asbestos or pvc ceiling should come AFTER Plastering not before.

But because of poor workmanship, people do it before and use plaster to cover it... I DON'T.

Suspended ceiling is different to other ceilings. Because of the iron required, plastering shld come before ceiling so that there won't be any space between wall angle and wall and to reserve the quality of wall angle that could be damage by non smooth surface.
