SakoBkup: You can get 30 tonnes to 35 tonnes in Port Harcourt at rate of 10k per tonnes. Someone might need this information someday. Some pic attached. Na wa o. Here in Ilorin granite of 5 tonnes from quarry is sold at 20k, while transport is negotiated to site and the max one may pay is between 6k and 7k. Why is it expensive in other places as stated on this thread. God help us |

n3xt: Supafix Coverage Floors: +/- 3m² per 20kg bag Walls: +/- 6m² per 20 kg bag Price: #1,700 per 20 kg bag (Price direct from Lafarge) ______ Total required for 100m² Wall = 100m² / 6m² (wall) = 17 bags x #1,700 = #28,900 ______ Total required for 100m² Floor = 100m² / 3m² (floor) = 34 bags x #1,700 = #57,800 _______ I’m likely to use this next week at OPIC Sparklight Estate. Oga N3xt, Can I also take this in the use of my calculation to determine the numbers of bags I need? Na calculation I wan use am for based on your computation above. For the floor, will I be requiring any sand and/or Portland cement to add to it if the adhesive is to be used? Thanks. |

rotecch77: Ok let’s use 100m2 of both wall and floor tiles as case study.
WALL TILING Using of normal OPC cement for the job Let’s assumed your wall is in a well level gauge.
No of cement(50kg) 20bag*3000=60,000 Plaster sand 2.5 tones —————-10,000 Total ——————N70,000.
FLOOR TILING Assumed the floor is well balance No of cement (50kg)40*3000=120,000 Sharp sand 20 tones ————-50,000 Total —————-N170,000
In summary If it’s Wall tiling it will cost you some of N70,000( to cover 100m2 area.
If it’s floor tiling it floor tiling it will cost you some of N170,000 to cover 100m2 My Boss, Please is this narration above a realistic one for the use of Portland cement for tiling? I want to use it for some sort of estimation. |

siralos135: Testimony Time
Words fail me to express my gratitude to Gbadexy for being a shining light in the midst of the darkness I have seen from suppliers and artisans throughout my period of building my house.
I had watched and followed his comments for over two years. He supplied me basecoats and paints from lagos to Minna. He offered to share the tranportation cost with me by 50% and gave me extra base coats. When there was a delay,he assured me of getting another supply if that one failed. When I eventually got the Painting material ,he introduced a painter who managed the paints and even developed a different colour from to give my house the uniqueness we never expected. Thank you Gbadexy!!! My God will surprise you and very soon too.
Worthy of Mention is Saydfact! Always a phone call away answering questions and giving counsel. You have become more than an online friend sir, You are a brother! We never walk alone....
Topsy23 He supplied all my electrical materials without issues. He is someone I can always recommend.
Rotech77 You are one of a kind sir. Even though I couldn't eventually use his service due to constraints beyond me, he answers my questions promptly. I am sure we will still do things together very soon.
Michilin My water tank stand is standing beautifully done because of your counsel. You told me things to look at for and how to bargain properly. It worked!!! Thank you so much
Saturday, 14th of November 2020, a journey that started over 3 years ago became a reality as i moved into into my 3 bedroom bungalow.
To all the elders in the house, I say a very Thank You!!! Keep teaching us,we are learning!!!
On to the next one......by God's grace! Congratulations bro. God bless your new abode |

It's really nice we are beginning to hear positive testimonies from people who never met suppliers before consummating transactions.
To all our able vendors, suppliers and professionals, please continue the good work.
God will reward you abundantly. Amen |

KolaShangOne: 120 bags for plastering of this house That's too much o...
You have spent 8million up till this stage? Sir Kay, The 8million is inclusive of the cost of land and other pre-building expenses. Too much or normal or small As regards the number of cement, it's only a projection for me in worst case scenario. See attached my proposed actual materials to be utilised on site

megacontrol: Either way you go is one milestone done and unto the next, however few notes:
- why do you need stone dust for plastering? keep it simple and use plaster sand as per normal and no effizzy sturvs if you're building on budget... that's 40k off. - how big is the project? that will determine if you can still knock something off the plastering labor without compromising - note that even if you go for windows options, you'll still need some sand + cement + labor to install and dress it unless you don't plan to install it yet.
If i were you, i'll go for plastering simply because you can squeeze out value from your materials to get the job done (e.g. you can plaster non-critical areas without guage whih will reduce your material consumption) whereas the rates for the windows are fixed since that's a procurement.
Either way you go, that's one checked off. All the best. Much love brother. Will take this to heart. |
