Priscila, Nothing on Henry. It seems not many footballers are too keen on having websites. I did dig up this one though: http://www.football-vids.com/ U know one website that would definitely register millions of hits a month? David Beckham's. I don't know y he doesn't have a site till today. I will keep on digging up websites for ya. In the meantime, also enjoy: http://www.r9ronaldo.com/ http://www.zidane.fr/FR/home/index.shtml These may not be as fancy as Ronnie's though |
omogenaija, I know. However, going to that site *may* reveal links to such sites. ![]() I was only trying to help. |
sbucareer, Uhhmmm, I believe we are still waiting for the links you said you would send us, as stated above ![]() *Some pple* are dying with anticipation ![]() |
Zahymaka, Considering the last time I read Shakespeare was around 1985, I will assume you are right and accept your answer ![]() |
I just read an online article online on monday that confirmed that she has lost the weight she gained. Sorry, but I can't remember where anymore. Needless to say, it does beg the question what caused it - JD? Depression over Michael not being in the country again? A little pity eating? Who knows? |
my2cents - My humble opinion ![]() In naija context, my username would be: myLessThanOneKobo LOL |
Beckham is only deemed sexy because that is what the white media want us to believe. Funny how I haven't heard of any black footballer being labelled as sexy in the white media, even though (speaking with 100% comfort in my masculinity ) there are many.Trust me, the minute these guys find someone else to drool over, Beckham is out the door ![]() |
Check out http://www.abeokuta.org/ |
minollo, minono, I can't tell LOL |
oh, my bad, why would you want to re-invent the wheel? Just asking. If you go to www.download.com, you will find lots of free software that will do what you are trying to create. Think about it ![]() |
queen 2, which ones dat girl wey dey squat for your photo dey? It's like she is doing snake in eagle's shadow kung fu LOL |
I think the dude has some deep issues LOL Jokes aside, this shouldn't even be allowed to post. If my wife is a doctor, she will work in a hospital, Journalist: TV or radio, pharmacist: pharmacy. As long as she feels comfortable working wherever she is working, I have no problems with that. that's my 2 cents |
Here's a start: - Subscribe to a music service that allows you to download music (iTunes and the like) - Get a CD-RW (aka CD burner) - Burn away |
soooo, basically, what u 2 are saying is that it is a case of "Too hot to hold, Too cold to handle?" |
Eh heh!! More Naija languages, I likes dat |
Is it just me, or is it, generally speaking, despite the increasing number of our women (both born and emigrated) in the diaspora, our guys are still going home to get married? Are the women in the diaspora no good? Does that mean our women will then end up marrying foreigners (not that there is anything wrong with that)? Someone asked me this question during my last visit. In particular he said (I would asssume jokingly), "Y can't you guys just stay over there and marry your girls, thus leaving our girls over here for us?" What are your thoughts guys (and gals )? |
If true that she is schooling in Accra, that should tell you right there what she thinks of our University system. Kai!! To think back in the 80s, we used to laugh at Ghana ![]() |
Hmmm, You will need to know some windows programming for this man. I am not too familiar with it. I was just asking for a feature ![]() By the way, are Seun and Nwoke the same person? ![]() |
This scripture works all the time regarding financial success: Matthew 6:33 That's my 2 cents, |
My deepest apologies Z4M4eva, By the way, "Aka uke?" means "where are you going?" ![]() |
So, how about something in a Nigerian language? I mean, do you think a "spanish, french, chinese or whatever" would solicit for meanings of words in an African, not to talk of Nigerian, language? Allow me to start: - Nibo lo nlo? - Aka uke? Let's support/promote Nigeria jare ![]() |
To whom it may concern: I am available for hire. I don't mind travelling or relocating to Nigeria if necessary. I have 7 years experience in the game. My resume/CV: geocities.com/myibibio/bios/itoroResume.html I look forward to helping you help your customers have the best user experience possible. Sincerely, my2cents |
So, usually, whenever I visit naija and go to a friend's/family member's house, the first thing they tend to do, I have noticed, is tune their TV to CNN, even if they were watching something else before you got there. I have even gotten the comment "Everything wey you dey see, me dey see am too, Oh, ah ah! you no see am? I just see am for CNN" Another one: Despite your subtle insistence on speaking your language, they always speak back in English, as if to say you shouldn't speak your language. I even had someone tell me "I was just testing you to see if you still know our language" or "you are good o! You still know our language?" Do you guys have similar experiences? If so, why do you think they do this? Are they trying to say something? |
Skima, not to direct this towards you, but everyone who likes to say "It's not hard": I have always hated it when people say that. Maybe it's just that I have a slow brain. Just becuase it isn't hard for A doesn't mean it shouldn't be hard for B. What is good for the goose isn't always good for the gander. From my work/personal experience, it tends to make pple fold up and not ask any questions. In the end, the person doesn't want to ask anyone anything and becomes inwardly frustrated. Such pple usually end up dumping coding. When someone asks me a question which I consider trivial, I always think back to when I first came in contact with a computer and couldn't even turn it on. That makes the person relax and usually learn more. Again, not a bash Skima et al. Just a word of advice. We are not all smart at everthing. Just because the guy could not figure it out doesn't mean he wouldn't be saying "It isn't hard" to you with respect to another of life's endaveours. That's my 2 cents, |
My advice on this topic is that you, as a previous poster has suggested, incorporate this into your design (together with SEO, etc) and add this to the price you quote your clients. Just like building a house, y not do it right the first time? By so doing, you look more professional as well as make a few more bucks ![]() As for whether it is "to be" or "not to be", it depends on country/who your client is. In America, all government sites have to be 508-compliant. That's because their sites provide content for its citizens and of course, not all citizens are able to view a site without screen-readers, for instance. In a country like Nigeria (which of course does its best to violate every natural law out there, but that's for another post ), I would dare say that with pple surfing mostly from cafes and with our attitude towards the disabled, there would be a lesser push towards compliance. Now, is that necessarily the correct thing to do (after all, getting a site 508-compliant isn't the easiest thing to do if not done right from the start)? I will let you make that call.Just remember, as I have always said consistently here, sites though built for the Nigerian market, can potentially be visited by anyone anywhere in the world. You never know, through your good coding work, where you might end up ![]() That's my 2 cents |
request! please find away to translate in English I want to read todo Sobre Dinho( All about Dinho)Priscila, Trust me, if I had access to the site, it would not even be in a language other than english ![]() I just happened to stumble on the site via google search. Here is another site, featuring football commercials: http://www.soccercommercials.com/ |
loverBwoy, dat one is a correct question with no answer o! Y do i say so? If she operates from wherever she is, chances are that she will be duped. If she operates from Nigeria, even before her koro koro eyes, chances are she will be duped. In other words, she is caught in between the proverbial rock and a hard place. After much thought on the topic, in order to have any kind of success in Naija biz, one has to be the judge, jury and executioner - u r customer service, cashier, accountant, manager all in one. Sure, pple will laugh at you and blame you for being stingy for trying to run the show yourself, but hey, are you in biz for themselves or for yourself? that's my 2 cents |
niterider, Either you look healthy on the outside but not on the inside (only a complete physical will confirm that) OR you are blessed with exceptional metabolism. If the latter, you don't want to abuse it because you are not getting any younger. When I first arrived in the states (back then, there were no african shops), my diet consistently consisted of hot dogs and pizza and hamburgers. 2 years later, I went for a physical. The nurse, based on what I told her was expecting my blood to be full of cholesterol, but to her surprise, my levels were below minimum. She consequently told me to go ahead and eat whatever it is that I ate. However, as I have grown older, I decided to cut it out, again because I am not getting any younger. Just like in smoking, some pple live to be 100 and die naturally, some die after a few years, while others die after a few sticks. I don't want to be the proverbial "thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" and so I choose to play it safe. I probably now eat fast food maybe once every other week. That's on average and not a decision I deliberately made. I eat a lot of homemade meals now.that's my 2 cents |
yeah man, It is funny that after 98 world cup, I thought Zidane was the best thing, until Ronaldinho came along. U never know though, there could be someone better. All in all, Ronaldinho will reign, in my opinion, for years to come. Others may be more popular, but not many will have his skills. |
As long as we don't start using preservatives, additives and the like, we should be safe for now, I guess. It's just that during my last visit, either to impress me or because it is the new trend, my pple went to eat out as if the military had come back and passed a decree on the issue When I told them that not only do I eat at home, but that I eat eba, soup, rice, beans and that I have a waterleaf garden in my backyard, they looked at me as if I was a chaff guy LOL |
Here is what I tell pple: If you are in some form of tertiary institution: Get a job, work for some time and get the experience (and save money too), start small (50-50), then after 5 or so years, then go big time. If not: Go for it. worst-case, you fail. It is better to try and fail, than not to try at all. If you are in school: do something on the side. The money may be small, but it sure beats having to ask Dad for wazo to buy pants, abi? When I was in SS3, I started a small shop in front of our house with N9 (Cabin biscuit, toffee and groundnut, Yeah, that was 1990). It ended up taking our whole garage by the time I left for Nigeria in 1993. So, with dedication, it can be done. Bottomline, you will work harder than you would working for someone. But at the end of the day, you don't answer to anyone. You set your own hours and when you count the money, you will be smiling big time. Finally, I end with something I read about 4 yrs ago: If you are not proud enough to tell your friends and family what you do for a living, then you are not ready to be self-employed. Humility is key. That's my 2 cents |
I just did this in the music section. Now it is time for the TV section. How many of us here are old enough to remember:
[li]Famous Five ("We are the famous fiiiiive, " ),[li]Tales by moonlight[/li] [li]That game show where they sang "Benue state, I am proud, I am proud to be a Nigeriaaaaaan"[/li] [li]The Avengers[/li]
You guys got any more? Man, the memories. What I wouldn't give to watch those all over again ![]() |
