The difference between the called and the chosen ones is the obedience of God's Word.
Jesus said in His prayer to God concerning the chosen ones of God, "They have kept Your Word!"
That's what distinguished them from the rest, so if anyone wants to be chosen of God and not just called everyone else, he should simply keep God's Word.

Those in the Bible clearly had divine encounters. Either Jesus Christ himself called them or the Holyspirit spoke to them clearly and audibly.
But because you did not have such experience you decided to answer the question according to your own experience.
This has always been the problem with the different denominations of Christianity. Every Christian leader creates doctrines out of their own experience which is why Christianity is the most divided religion in the whole world. Is God an author of confusion?
Clearly if your experience is different from the Christians in the Bible, you're not a Christian but practising a false religion.
